Dexter Reviews

Rachel
On arrival we had some lovely scones with clotted cream which when down a treat after our long drive and some tea and milk was such a lovely gesture. The cottage was absolutely stunning was like home to home cosy and isolated in beautiful rural surroundings with animals goats, horses and cows. The cottage had absolutely everything we needed and nothing was too much trouble the owner was amazing and to hand if we needed any advice or help. So much hidden gems on the farm table tennis, bar, darts and much more our favourite was the hottub which was relaxing at the end of the day. Some beautiful walks near by we went to the zoo in Newquay there was more animals on the farm than there so dont bother!! The beds where so comfy which is a massive bonus too very clean and tidy and would definitely return thank you for such a beautiful stay would highly highly recommend.
Had a great time at Dexter. Was great location for Falmouth where one of my sons lived. Fabulous for dogs with the 2 mile walk around Argal reservoir on the doorstep Would highly recommend and would love to make a return trip
Very comfortable property in a great location.
We had a lovely week staying in Dexter cottage, the facilities were great and it was lovely meeting Billy and Willy the goats. Ideal location and very quiet. Friendly owner. Thank you for a great week
We have just returned from 1 week staying at Dexter Cottage. The accommodation was clean and tidy. The rooms were spacious with comfy beds and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. We enjoyed a lovely walk around the reservoir which backs onto the cottages. It was a great base to explore Cornwall from with lots of places for dinner and days out nearby. We will return next time we are in Cornwall thank you for a lovely stay
Lovely location, beds were extremely comfy. Locks on doors could do with some attention, and blinds had mould on them in the bedroom. The accommodation was lovely and quiet, however the table tennis area could do with a little clear up. Wifi code on arrival would be great also. Many thanks overall we has enjoyable stay
Location was brilliant with so much to do in the area. Peaceful, clean and things for the children to do. Pool, darts and animals. The property could do with some windows that you can open, because it got warm in the property during the night. And could do with instructions on how to use the ovenhob. We would visit again, owners where friendly.
Lovely owners, very kind and helpful. Our girl loved being able to come up close to the animals as well and the trampoline in the garden. The kitchen was gorgeous, beds comfortable and you can see a lot of thought went into making it a nice experience for all those staying. The only thing I would say is the walls and doors were a bit tired and could do with a bit of fresh paintnew blinds as there was a bit of mould at points... And the micro pub could do with being checked a bit more often as there was empty bottles and rubbish on the table. Still, we really enjoyed our experience and we're very glad we were able to stay there and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
We had a lovely time staying at Dexter the area is lovely and is a good base for visiting the local area, the outside areas of the property could do with a good tidy up but we enjoyed the chickens visits and the goats. Very quiet which was lovely
Lovely property, cute animals, great facilities for all weather's. Games room a lovely added bonus. Keep up the good work.
The property was set in a beautiful location, our little one adored the horse, pony, cows, chickens & goats and the view over Argal reservoir was idillic. The accommodation was well presented, however there were a few general maintenance things we felt needed addressing, such as plugs pulled away from the walls, drawer handles broken, one of the bedside table doors in the twin room was left off, extractor fan needed a good clean in the bathroom, along with some mould build up in the shower the main bedroom blinds were quite bad for mould too. However with these issues rectified we felt it would be a really lovely place to stay, with that overall the quality of the furniture and facilities to a very high standard, the addition of a cream teamilk was a nice touch after a really long journey with a toddler in tow, beds were very comfy and we all slept very well each night! The animals were really friendly on the farm a great factor for kids! Additional on site free bits were a nice bonus trampoline, pool table etc. Good location most beaches less than an hour away, local beach 10 mins away was really beautiful too!
We stayed at the Dexter for a week and fell in love with it. Excellent facilities, we loved family games of tennis followed by a dip in the hot tub, evenings were finished with games of pool. The accommodation was clean and spacious with delicious local jam to make a Cornish cream tea. Excellent location for exploring. Beautiful views. Extremely accommodating of our dog who loved the dog field and made friends with the resident goats. Xx A perfect holiday spot and one we will definitely return to.

Pristine cottage and bigger than it looked online. The property owners were helpful and approachable without being too intrusive. Lovely views and farmland surrounding the cottages. Hottub was a nice treat too in the evening even if it was rainy! It was a shame about the weather though this is out of everyone's hands. Great stay would definitely recommend.
Hannah
Absolutely amazing nothing to say more, great location with most places being only an hour away such as Newquay and St Ives. Lovely Hosts who will do anything and everything for you.
Lovely place , owners are really nice .
The hosts Ian and Michela were brilliant and made us feel really welcome. The farm is a perfect setting of peace and beauty. Access to the coast ,walks, pubs and gardens were easy to reach and the splendid Cornwall weather also helped. The other guests were also very friendly and we enjoyed walking around the Argal Lake before breakfast each day. A fantastic holiday and accommodation.
Angela
We had a lovely week in Dexter. The cottage has everything needed for a self catering holiday. The shower was brilliant and very comfortable beds. Our two year old grandson absolutely loved Harley the dog as well as the goats. We will definitely return.
Robert
Lovely cottage in a great location. Helpful and friendly hosts and very dog friendly.
Amanda
We had a great week away in Dexter. The hosts were extremely friendly. Especially liked the little touch of the welcome cream tea! Harley the dog was friendly and our dog Max enjoyed paying with her. Excellent standard of accommodation, beautiful scenery and lovely hosts. Will definitely be going back.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. A lovely and comfortable place to call home while we were down in Cornwall, with a perfect area to walk the dog around the reservoir just behind the property. A 5 to 10 minute drive into Falmouth, which we frequented for its lovely little shops and any necessities that we needed. We would definitely return again.
Treverva Farm is a fabulous place to stay. Very comfortable, owners are just so lovely and accommodating, we loved the ping pong and pool table, lovely walks and not too far from some fabulous attractions. Falmouth is good and the National Maritime Museum is great and Trebah Gardens is absolutely beautiful. Fabulous stay here and highly recommended.
Rebecca
Fantastic place to stay, Great amenities. The welcome package went above and beyond. The beds were so very comfortable. Any issues were dealt with very Speedily by the owners and the location was beautiful!
This accommodation was ideally located for getting to many places around Cornwall. Lots of lovely beaches close by and Argal reservoir is a few minutes walk away across a couple of muddy fields from the property, which has a lovely 3k walk around it. This property is dog friendly and has a specific area for walking your dog. The welcome pack of bread, milk, tea, coffee and eggs was a lovely touch and much Appreciated. We will definitely be booking this property again when we visit Cornwall.
Richard
We have just returned and absolutely loved our week at Dexter. So much so that Im thoroughly depressed and desperate to return! The cottage is fantastic with brilliant facilities. Its situated in a beautiful spot with great views. Ian the owner is great as is his son Lewis. We didnt meet his wife but would imagine she is just as great. A welcome basket of milk, bread, eggs and butter was greatly received. Cottage is spotless with a great kitchen and bathroom. Beds to die for and great local area.
Excellent location , lovely accommodation with welcome pack ,comfortable beds, very clean. Loved the animals and the peace and quiet. Definitely revisit, excellent host. Thank you for a lovely break
We could not have asked for better. The property was luxurious, the furnishings were clean and of excellent quality. The owners and their family were very welcoming and the children loved the animals. A night in your own pub with a pool table for fun was great and there was some competition for the barman's job! The area provides something for everyone, countryside and the beautiful little coves together with a theme park for the teenagers. We will be back.
We stayed in Dextor Cottage, which is one of three apartments that sits within Treverna Farm, which is set in beautiful Cornish countryside on the edge of a reservoir. The apartment was modern, finished to a high spec and clean...and after a very long drive, the gift basket of bread, milk, butter etc were greatly received. The farm has horses, goats, Dexter cows and two dogs, as well as trampoline and zip wire, so the kids always have something to do when you are on site. Ian, Michaela and Louis who live on the farm are very friendly, welcoming and always on hand to help or give guidance or what to do in the area. I honestly can say, as a family we could not have hoped for a better time or place to stay. We are most definitely going to be booking again next year.
We had an amazing stay at dexter. Beautiful location, hosts were fantastic and very welcoming. The welcome pack of fresh bread, eggs, cornish butter and tea was a perfect start to our holiday. The location is very central to days out e.g newquay, falmouth and st ives. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in this beautiful village.
Lovely family as onsite hosts who ensured that we were made very welcome but also left us to do as we wished. The 'welcome' pack of local bread, cornish butter, tea, coffee, milk, and eggs was very .... welcoming far exceeded that we've had before. The farmstablesfamily environment is very relaxing and it's clear a lot of effort has been put into converting and maintaining the properties. The farm is very conveniently situated for the beautiful cornish coast, and if you don't want to drive there's a lakeside walk nearby.
Teresa
Lovely peaceful comfortable cottage with great amenities and wow factor . Close to some great places to visit .We loved our stay and would highly recommend Dexter . The owner Ian was very welcoming and answered any queries we had as well as giving us recommendations of places to go The welcome pack was great with bread, eggs, butter, milk tea and coffee .The farm had resident goats and cows as well as the owners dogs .A lovely lake walk was a few hundred yards away from the property. My children and dog Basil thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return without hesitation.Thank you .
We had a great stay at Dexter, which was perfect for our needs. The kids loved the table tennis and pool table, and the bar was a bonus! The hosts were very welcoming and helpful and the welcome pack was really appreciated. Dexter was very comfortable and the surrounding area was great for dog walks. I would highly recommend this property
The accommodation was excellent, very comfortable and warm. The light display in the shower certainly had a 'wow' factor! The owners were very friendly and we enjoyed making friends with the dogs and goats. The goodies were much appreciated, milk, bread, butter, eggs as well as tea and coffee. It was very easy to explore the area and we would hope to be able to return.
Lovely barn conversion, had everything we needed for a few days in Cornwall visiting our daughter at the university. The hamper was a lovely touch. Really modern and we really enjoyed our stay.
Had a great week in Dexter cottage, which is absolutely first class in all respects. The quality of fit out, the super comfy beds and the property space is just amazing. Also couldn't have asked for more form Ian our host. Great little attention to detail of welcome pack of basics, very much appreciated. On site micro pub a great idea. Location of the cottages is great, pretty much mid point on the Cornish peninsula gives you access in all directions to a host of Cornish hot spots.
Dexter was everything we had hoped for and more! Such a cosy little place with exceptional views and in a great location for exploring South Cornwall. Along with the friendliness of the hosts, it made it the perfect holiday destination.
Angela
Our stay at Dexter, Treverva Farm was excellent, it is the first time that we have done a cottage holiday, it certainly won't be the last going by the high standard at Dexter. Ian made us so welcome and the cottage had everything that you could want. It was also a good base to visit popular places, with a lake near by for an early evening walk around. I can't recommend this enough. Angela & David Crighton.
Absolute brilliant accommodation, suitable for both coastlines Atlantic and English Channel.
Look no further Excellent farm house , run by some amazing and passionate people who love what they do . Especially Lewis what a great host Ian and Mikaela , keep up the great work youre doing Will definitely be back
Joanne
Lovely place, stables opposite us but only 3 horses kept there, no smell despite it being over 30 degrees whilst there. Small bar, friendly goats and owners dogs wander freely but very friendly. Views amazing from seated area with picnic tables and away from tooings and goings from farm so peaceful and lovely suntrap. The Owners first year, and so good on them, and Nothing too much trouble. It is away from everything but 10 mins ish and in Falmouth. Would recommend car else be paying fortune in taxis. Had great time and good central place to see sights of Cornwall. Thank you
Mandie
Dexter is a delightful place to stay. Everything is of a very high standard. The hosts could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The pub is a great addition.
