About Willow Cottage

Once part of the owner’s home this large, light and airy wing has been lovingly transformed into a beautiful holiday home, welcoming couples and families who wish to stay somewhere rural, yet close to Rye and within a short drive of Camber Sands. If this beautiful property seems a little familiar then you may recognise it as once being the former home of Spike Milligan, the comedian, writer and actor, who lived in the property and is now buried at Winchelsea, just a few miles away.

Both delightful bedrooms have lovely views. The king-size master bedroom has outside access with steps leading down into the garden, so you can enjoy the sounds of a dawn chorus from the comfort of your bedroom with the French doors ajar, or you can step down into the garden without waking the rest of your fellow guests.

The beautiful dog secure private garden/ terrace with BBQ is a fantastic and secure area for your dogs to play, It also features a fabulous hot tub, where you can enjoy the view to the sea. A family bathroom completes this first floor, which is just the place for someone who likes to relax in a deep, warm bubble bath, while the ground floor wet room is perfect for those who like to feel the jets of water, washing away the day’s activities before settling down to relax.

The well-equipped kitchen with central island and breakfast bar, is ideal for grabbing a quick breakfast before heading out for the day, while the dining area is perfect for enjoying a relaxed home-cooked meal. On a summer’s evening, why not open the patio doors leading out to the garden and dine alfresco?

When it’s time to retire inside, snuggle down on one of the comfy sofas and for those guests using the sofa bed, a handy screen has been provided for your privacy. Whisk the ones who mean most away to Willow Cottage.

Willow Cottage Reviews

Geoffrey
Lovely cottage. Great views to the sea. Nice garden for sitting out and the dog roaming around. Nice and quiet plus close to Rye. Would strongly recommend
Very much enjoyed our recent stay at Willow Cottage. Well maintained property, clean and with good facilities. We stayed in early November and despite the bad weather, the cottage was cosy and warm. Secured garden, which our dogs loved. Lovely views from the cottage towards the sea and within easy travelling distance to the town of Rye.
Willow cottage is a lovely well presented property. Welcome pack surpassed all expectations and made us feel really welcome. The owner couldn't be more helpful and answered all our queries promptly. A lovely area to explore if only the weather had been kinder.
Deborah
Lovely stay in Willow Cottage. Very spacious and comfortable. Welcome pack was a lovely touch. Oven just needs a good clean and more mugs provided, there was only 4. Clearly some had been broken along the way and not replaced. Hot tub was a great addition especially for teenage son! Great base to explore the area. Hosts Nina and Mark very friendly and helpful.
Wow The cottage was amazing. We had two dogs with us and the garden was 100 secure which was one of my main reasons for booking as both my dogs like to run off. On arrival the owner was cleaning out the lovely hot tub which was a god send after long walks with the children and dogs. The welcome pack was the best we have had on a cottage break and the kitchen facilities and information booklets were second to non. Also the internet and sky tv package was by far the best we have had on a cottage break which pleased the wife as me and my son watched Arsenal beat palace on the first night lol. Great cottage and great location to many walks and town centres 100 recommend willow cottage.
Heather

A lovely cottage in an ideal location for exploring this area of E Sussex. Good dog walking and plenty to do, and places of interest to visit with good access to the local towns and beaches. Excellent facilities in the cottage, friendly and helpful hosts.
Tracey
Recieved a warm welcome from the owner. Beautiful property. Furnished to a very high standard Fabulous Night Owl bedding and Villeroy & Bosch crockery. The cottage was immaculate, bright, light and very tastefully furnished. Very dog friendly, throws provided for sofas, poo bin in garden etc. The garden was delightful and immaculate. The views across fields to the sea was outstanding. I was lucky eith the weather and was able to relax in the hot tub aftet a busy day enjoying the view. The owners provide the best welcome pack I have ever seen, wine, beer, milk, eggs & bacon, bread, condiments, crisps and snacks, tea, coffee, sugar. If you arrived frazzled you are good to go for delicious breakfast , drinks snd nibbles. I particularly enjoyed a nice espresso coffee machine and pods provided. Top quality eco friendly cleaning products, loo roll, dishwasher tabs provided. Myself and my two spaniels had a lovely, relaxing, comfortable week at Willow Cottage and felt totally recharged. Willow Cottage is gorgeous and myself and the dogs will definately be back.
Willow Cottage is just what we were expecting warm, comfortable, first class in every aspect. The welcome pack was the best weve ever had. The garden is very secure for both large and small dogs and the whole area is very dog friendly. We would thoroughly recommend Willow Cottage to friends and family and if we return to the area in the future we would definitely stay at Willow Cottage again. Thank you so much.

Willow Cottage is a lovely, relaxing place to stay. The cottage, garden and of course, hot tub, all made our stay into a wonderful relaxing break. The hosts were very helpful and friendly and the welcome pack outstanding! The location just right, on the outskirts of Rye, not too far to go to visit the shops etc. Would definitely go again!
Lovely place, beautiful views, everything we needed for our stay, friendly owner made us welcome. Appreciated the welcome pack, would definitely return.
Joanne
REally lovely cottage, very clean, everything explained really well and lovely touches upon arrival like food and toiletries and dressing gowns. Overall it was a fantastic weekend.
Superb stay at a property that had everything you could wish for. Spotless, well equipped with attention to detail in every area, a beautiful location with views from the hot tub. Very helpful and friendly owner who did everything possible to make our stay comfortable.
We loved our stay at Willow Cottage and will defiantly be returning.
Alison
The cottage was wonderful, very well designed. It had hotel quality facilities. Very dog friendly with enclosed garden. The countryside location was great with distant views towards the sea. Did many coastal walks including Winchelsea, Rye Harbour, Camber Sands and Dungeness. Rye was great with many places to eat and drink. Rye Museum and Rye Church worth a visit. The owner very kindly left a welcome pack including wine, milk, orange, bacon, eggs, bread, butter, cakes and crisps which was much appreciated. Also owner personally welcomed us and said goodbye as well. More than we had ever experienced before! I would like to record enormous thanks to the owner and will hopefully return in the future. Our Jack Russell loved her holiday too.
Jackie
Lovely cottage set in beautiful countryside just outside Rye we will definitely be back soon. Lovely hosts
Cottage fantastic. Holiday spoilt by lack of fuel for us to see area
The cottage was perfect with a beautiful interior and a private garden with lots of furniture and a bbq for dining outside. There is a very generous welcome tray with lots of thoughtful extras provided. The hot tub is large and fantastic to use after a busy day out and about in Kent and Sussex. It is positioned well for getting around, the local pub would be a walk on a busy road with no pavement. The local station is a stroll down the lane if you wanted to leave the car at the cottage. We had a fantastic week, and loved our stay.
We all had a great holiday, the owner was very helpful and and went out of her ... We all had a great holiday, the owner was very helpful and and went out of her way to assist on our arrival, cottage was well equipped with everything we needed, the cottage is a real credit the owners and a true home from home holiday
Lovely place with excellent views to the sea from the garden. The cottage was really well laid out and the welcome pack was the best we have ever had.
Sandra
Very spacious and pleasant place to stay.

What a welcome pack! to welcome you after a long journey. The cottage was well equipped and clean & tidy. The kitchen was well equipped and had really useful items which made the stay really comfortable. Many other owners can learn from Mark and his wife. Overall we were really please and would not hesitate to visit again. Even the detail regarding our dog was well catered for which makes the stay even more enjoyable. Thank you so much! Andy & Jenny

Willow cottage was ideal for us and our spaniel, the owners have thought of everything. The property is open plan downstairs, modern, spacious, comfortable and well equipped with quality furniture, kitchen appliances and utensils. There's extra thoughtfulness with the welcome hamper and goodies in the fridge, we were well provided for. Another extra was a bed, bowls, towel and furniture cover for our spaniel to enjoy a home from home, who could ask for more. The garden is secure and has lovely views towards the sea, we visited in March so not the time to sit outside but can imagine it would be delightful in the summer with patio doors that can be opened fully, we didn't use the hot tub either! The rural location just outside Rye is peaceful but near enough to the town for sightseeing and shopping or Camber and Winchelsea for beach walks. We hope to come again, it is an interesting part of the country and this cottage ticks all the boxes on our wish list.
Such a beautiful cottage, clean, comfortable, modern, homely & spacious. The hamper was amazingly generous & the owners had thought of everything, from bowls, blankets & a bed for your dog, to bathrobes, gorgeous towels, fluffy cushions & all mod cons for us! 100 would recommend staying here for your short or long break away! Thank you x
Great cottage, lovely owners.
Frederick
Larger than expected, comfortable property.
Claire
Lovely comfy cottage in a beautiful setting with stunning views. Hosts think of everything, great welcome pack, even bowls and bed for our two dogs home from home. Definitely recommend.
Willow Cottage is stunning and extremely comfortable. It's very well equipped and the welcome pack was amazing!!!! The dog was extremely well catered for too with dog bowls, poo bags and throws for the sofa so they can snuggle up to you. This was definitely a plus as usually properties insist that dogs aren't allowed on furniture. It was so peaceful too, all you could hear were the sheep!!! The weather wasn't brilliant but we had some lovely days out. The steam train ride from Dungeness to Hythe was great and being able to hop off at different stations along the way was great. The beaches around are quite shingley , Winchelsea Beach being the nearest. There's a fantastic cafe there. We would definitely return to Willow Cottage once we've explored some other places.
Staying at Willow Cottage was an absolute delight. Superbly appointed, clean and comfortable. Highly recommended!
Leanne
Fantastic cottage in a very peaceful location, great owner, fantastic welcome pack! Very dog friendly. Would deff recommend and stay again.
Elizabeth
Absolutely fab location and accommodation. Nina and Mark were lovely and couldn't do enough, dogs very well catered for!! We have been visiting Rye for 5 years now and this place is the best we have encountered will definitely stay here again, if we can get a booking as a lot of people who have visited seem to be wanting to return!!!!
Alison
This cottage far exceeded the usual Sykes standard we have experienced. The cottage was spotless and extremely well equipped with good quality furnishings and equipment. The owners had provided a very thoughtful and extensive welcome pack, including bowls, throws and bedding for the dog. This cottage is definitely one of the best we have stayed in.
William
Willow Cottage is a comfortable, light and spacious accommodation. it has a secure garden and terrace with a spectacular view. On our first visit the reality exceeded the expectation from the photographs hence our second visit!! The owners are very friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble to ensure the stay is enjoyable.
Amanda
Absolutely stunning cottage. Everything is supplied, down to dog towels, bowls, throws for the sofa etc etc...... The owners are brilliant and we left there knowing we will definitely return again
