About Aberdauddwr

Set on a hillside, in the village of Pentrebach near Lampeter, this former farmhouse enjoys far-reaching south-facing countryside views. Once off the main road and on a 'no through' road, you will pass two houses on your way up to the property and then only come across the local farm traffic thereafter.

With a hot tub on the patio, a welcoming woodburner and oil Rayburn, you can all enjoy family time in the warmth and comfort of this rural retreat. The well-equipped kitchen/diner allows everyone the opportunity to join in preparing meals and then settle round the table to share them together before setting up a traditional family board game.

The comfortable sitting room is the place to put your feet up, relax and reminisce great days out and plan the next day’s outing. Five bedrooms offer a range of sleeping accommodation to suit all, with one on the ground floor, one with an en-suite and one a cot room, especially for the little one, so all can enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep.

A stay here offers the chance to explore the charming surrounding countryside, watch the farming seasons from many of the rooms or the lovely garden, be amazed with the local wildlife, both overhead and on the ground, and maybe even try some fishing on the River Teifi nearby. Alternatively, relax in the bubbling waters of the hot tub as you reflect on a wonderful Welsh holiday.

Just a short drive will open up a variety of days out, with a visit to Lampeter providing the chance to explore the unique little shops and the bustle of local markets, enjoy afternoon tea or an evening’s restaurant meal. If it is the superb coastline of west Wales beckoning, then you’ll find family fun beside the seaside in just half an hour’s drive, where you can stroll along the beaches, see the stunning seascapes of the Ceredigion Coastal Path, board boat trips to watch whales and dolphins or take to the water to test the surf.

Aberdauddwr Reviews

Had a wonderful time at the house, plenty of space, gorgeous views and a lovely host. Would highly recommend!
Louisa
Lovely holiday cottage in a beautiful area! We really appreciated Malcolm sharing his knowledge of the area also.
We loved our weekend away here. The property was the right size for 6 adults and 3 kids under 3 years old, plus one small dog! Malcom greeted us when we arrived and straight away made us feel at home. The rooms were comfy, the kitchen was full of utensils and the hot tub was a fantastic addition. We will 100 be coming back again soon!

We enjoyed a lovely family gathering at Aberdauddwr cottage. The views of the hills and the kites flying overhead from the cottage and hot tub create a feeling of being in the middle of no where. The cottage has everything you would need, a roomy kitchen diner fully equipped, 2 good showers, 4 double bedrooms with wardrobes, 1 being downstairs and one cot room. The downstairs bedroom was lovely and cool in the heat. All very roomy and clean with great views from each room. Lots of local guides and maps to help get the best from your visit but Malcolm has lots of local knowledge which he is happy to share. Malcolm was a great host, very welcoming and helpful.
Absolutely love this holiday home. Everything is provided for a relaxing holiday for a large family. Enjoyed the snowboarding at Llangrannog Ski Centre 12 drive away and Epic Sea fishing at Aberystwyth .. they just added to our to enjoyment. Wasn't our first holiday at this beautiful home and definitely won't be our last.
Fantastic place to stay. Clean, comfortable. Lovely views, great hot tub and helpful host. Will definitely be back.
Everything was amazing great location and the hosts were really good and even ... The photos of this property dont do it justice. Fantastic family farmhouse with plenty of social space and storage space. Huge Kitchen dining area and nice big sofas and lounge. Bedrooms and bathrooms all very well appointed and in great condition. Hot Tub is in a fantastic location looking over the valley and the wildlife is just stunning. At least 3 or 4 pairs of Red Kites who circle low around the property all day long as well as Buzzards, and lots of other wildlife and young cattle in the field. Malcolm is a fantastic host and very knowledgeable about the local area as well Highly recommended

A great place to stay. Home from home. Owners are extremely easy to communicate with and always available. Beautifully clean and well maintained. We will def be returning

We had a fantastic stay here! With three toddlers, two kids, six adults and one dog there were lots of people to please but every single one of us had the best time and only had positives to say about our stay here. Malcolm was so helpful and couldn't do more for us. He made it all so easy and the cottage was great for group bookings and families with small children. We will not hesitate to recommend this place to friends and hope to come back in the near future
Perfect little get away for me and girls. Lovely welcoming host but also left us to it whilst mentioning local facilities. Lovely views from the hot tub and the most comfort inside. Lovely lovely stay!
Lovely, spacious accommodation close to Lampeter Town. It was lovely being out in the countryside but still close to civilisation. Malcolm was a great, very knowledgeable host with good recommendations. We spent a lot of our time in the huge kitchen as a family played what felt like endless scrabble games which were provided also. The outlook of the property is outstanding and the kites in the fields all day long. We will definitely return and am looking forward to it.
Had a lovely mini break at this cottage, couldnt be happier with our stay.
The property was excellent and more than we expected. The hot tub was a great surprise, it was used by all of us and added to the relaxed holiday feel. The beautiful scenic location and the night stars Big Dipper were amazing. There was more than enough room for all six of us.

What a stunning property! It has everything! The scenery was beautiful and it was so lovely and peaceful that it was a cottage on its own. The hot tub was lush and the inside decor was stunning. Loved the whole layout of the property so spacious and a huge kitchen which had a beautiful table we could all eat dinner together on. Loved the small touches like the board games for game night. We had such a wonderful time celebrating my mums 60th and Malcolm was so welcoming and accommodating giving us some amazing recommendations also. We will definitely be returning it was the perfect getaway for a staycation and so many lush places to visit nearby like Aberaeron, Lampeter and Newquay.
A lovely week spent here, we didnt want to go home. The owner brought us fresh veg during our stay and checked we were fine from time to time. Sitting in the hot tub watching the Red Kite and Buzzards flying over was excellent. We will definitely be back!
The house was simply amazing! My family had a great visit, the kids loved the hot tub and spotting the local wildlife! Malcolm was very welcoming and gave some great advice on where to visit. The scenery and beaches nearby are fantastic, a perfect get away! The house was clean and tidy, I would highly recommend this property.

Aberdauddwr is a beautiful house over looking rolling hills. It's well equipped and a home from home. The views are stunning. We had an amazing holiday exploring the area and relaxing in the hot tub admiring the views and seeing the cows in the next field. Malcolm is so welcoming and recommended lots of places to visit and places to eat out. We really enjoyed visiting New Quay, Llangrannog , Aberporth, Carmarthen, Cardigan and Aberystwyth. It was really nice having fresh milk, biscuits and flowers on arrival. We had the best holiday and miss the house and area already. We cannot recommend the place enough and hope to stay again.

Five of us visited as a annual reunion and had a wonderful time. Lovely property which is well kept in a stunning and private location. We were greeted by the owner on arrival who showed us round the property and gave us all the information of nearest shops and best places to visit while we stayed. Owner regularly checked the hot tub throughout the week to ensure it was clean for us and had enough water in. The views from the property are stunning also, would definitely visit again.

This was such an amazing getaway, it was above and beyond what we expected from the pictures! Malcolm was such a great host always checking on us, providing all the recommended restaurants and activities! We will definitely be coming back when there is better weather but even with the rain it was such a lovely stay and we still used the jacuzzi multiple times! Thank you so much
What can you say that hasn't already been said. .. The amount of positive feedback with regards to the property and Malcom the owner speaks volumes, I have returned to this property on a number of occasions and have not had a bad word or experience to mention. Such a great location very peaceful, full of character and a fab hot tub to sit in at night with a few cold drinks. Malcolm will cater for just about anything, and his flexibility and willingness is quite simply welcoming. Thanks see you sometime soon, you won't be disappointed if you choose to book!
Eluned
Superb cottage. Clean, extremely well equipped, great view, lovely hot tub, spot on location and excellent hosts. Couldn't have asked for more and we'll likely be returning. Thank you.
Claudia
I got very cold because the owner of the cottage did not let the heat go on overnight! He accused us of stealing tools from the garage even though it wasn't true! we are very disappointed and do not recommend this cottage
Cottage in in a great location, peaceful and quiet but with lots of areas to visit and explore within an hours drive. Outstanding views from the cottage. Owner was very attentive and helpful during our stay. Settee in lounge is not the most comfortable and kitchen is tired, but don't let this put you off. We loved our stay and would highly recommend.
corrina
The cottage was even more beautiful in person. The views are amazing and it had everything we needed! Will definitely be coming back! Thank you!
Absolutely amazing! The best place weve ever stayed. Really enjoyed, fantastic views and helpful lovely owners, thank you so much!
The cottage was exactly what we were looking for, the description and pictures did not do the cottage justice and we had the most relaxing stay. The hot tub was amazing, as was the log fire in the lounge and the kitchen had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. The owners Malcolm and Ann were on hand if we needed them and were happy to provide recommendations for places to visit in the area. The offer of a ride of the quad bike and the fresh milk on arrival were much appreciated. We had a wonderful stay with plenty of room for all 8 of us 4 adults and 4 children and we wouldnt hesitate to book again.
A lovely cottage which felt like home. Malcolm the owner was very helpful giving us ideas of where to visit. The addition of the hot tub was a really nice touch. We all came home relaxed and will be back in the future.
The house is very comfortable and well equipped. Its in a fantastic spot which is very quiet with a wonderful view across the Welsh countryside. This is especially good from the hottub which was great fun after a day out. The owners Malcolm and Anne are very welcoming and were always available for advise if required. All in all we had a very enjoyable week away and would definitely go back.
Lovely holiday spent at this cottage. Nice and peaceful and near to local attractions. Some lovely personal touches on arrival and a very welcoming owner. Would happily book again.
Catherine
We had a wonderful time at Aberdauddwr, its such a beautiful setting, and a lovely cottage. The owners are lovely and very welcoming and friendly.
Nothing new considering we had to pay an extra 400 from last year! We priced up next year and it's increased about 300 pound again!
Stephen
A fantastic farmhouse with plenty of space and set in beautiful surroundings, watching the beautiful red kites whilst relaxing in the hot tub was superb. Beautiful beaches and fantastic places to visit nearby an overall fantastic holiday home, will definitely be booking again.
This holiday home is set in a peaceful location with stunning views. The house is equipped with everything you will need for your holiday. Rooms are furnished to a very high standard and very comfortable beds. Mr Davies provided a lot of information of different places to visit. The fresh milk that was made available to us was so tasty. Supermarket only 5 minutes drive away and Lampeter it's self had some lovely shops to explore. The spacious hot tub was a welcoming way to wind down after our days out. Whole family and Charlie the dog had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday ... No one wanted to leave.
Lovely cottage the owner was really friendly and helpful would definitely recommend. Great views from cottage.
Michelle
Fabulous views from accommodation very quiet with lots of wildlife around including the impressive Red Kites.
Katharine
We had a fantastic week away and were made so incredibly welcome by Malcolm. Its a fabulous house with an absolute beautiful view, we are looking forward to rebooking again for next year.
Chitra
This is a beautiful cottage with some stunning views. It's also within easy reach of many places in Ceredigion like Aberaeron, Cardigan, Mwnt and Aberystwyth, just to name a few. Marholm, the owner, is very, very kind and helpful. We were desperate for a relaxing break and that is exactly what we got!
The idyllic, secluded and peaceful location were the main qualities we enjoyed the most. Malcolm the owner was fantastic and was always on hand if we needed him. The cottage was clean, fully equipped and the hot tub was an added bonus. Great stay and hopefully we will be back one day.

When the weather is nice this attraction is perfect as you can wander around and admire the superb range of exotic trees and shrubs.  They look different at different times of the year but one of the most popular times to see them is in Autumn.  With various events throughout the year such as Apple Weekend there is always something new to experience.  You can watch a 90 second film about this attraction on their website which is excellent.
