We particularly appreciated the generous fridge and freezer provision (this is often inadequate for family catering) and the kitchen was really well equipped. It is in a beautiful location with the river Senni at the end of the garden and walks from the doorstep.

Loved watching the sheep in the field opposite while sat in the hot tub. We wouldn't have changed a single thing. There isn't much to do locally but I think that's the Brecon beacons in g eneral, you have to drive everywhere but it's well worth it. Looking forward to our next stay

Lovely location & house. One issue we did have was the hot tub, it was cold on arrival and despite a phone call and assurance it would be ready for later in the evening it was not, so lost an evening of use,The temperature is set at 37 which is not warm in the winter! The hot tub was neither topped up with chemicals or checked whilst we were there and smelt like the nearby river the next day after only 1 evenings use, which was a shame as easily rectified.

We had a very comfortable stay for four nights pre-Christmas. Location by the river was great, and we enjoyed the hot tub outside. Plenty of space in the cottage for five of us. Kitchen well equipped and spacious. Unfortunately local pub was closed or not serving food during our stay, so missed that opportunity. The cottage was very warm and we use d the log fire a couple of nights which was nice. Limited local shopping but we were prepared for this - just made one short visit to Brecon.

A fabulously presented cottage set in a rural location. Plenty of grounds to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The hot tub provides much needed relief to aching joints and muscles from long walks in the area. A nicely proportioned kitchen and dining area for all meals. Three bedrooms on 2nd floor and one on ground floor made our stay very enjoyable as mother in law struggles with stairs. Recommended and looking at dates for a return visit.

Dinefwr Park and Castle is the perfect place to come if you like the great outdoors. These stunning ruins are one of the areas most iconic landmarks and are surrounded by breathtaking scenery and wildlife of all descriptions. There is also a 17th century mansion to explore with grand rooms and wonderful exhibits of paintings and tapestries. The gardens feature amazing floral displays and there is also a delightful Tea Room. Children can let of steam on the adventure playground.

Rhondda Heritage Park - CF37 2NP

Rhondda Heritage Park is located at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery and is a popular attraction with a range of facilities including a visitor centre, an art gallery, a gift shop, and a lovely period re-constructed Village Street. Fully guided tours are available and include multimedia presentations as well as a unique trip underground where visitors will experience the life of a coal miner. The site also boasts a children's play area and an underground experience zone.

National Botanic Garden of Wales - SA32 8HN

When the weather is nice this attraction is perfect as you can wander around and admire the superb range of exotic trees and shrubs. They look different at different times of the year but one of the most popular times to see them is in Autumn. With various events throughout the year such as Apple Weekend there is always something new to experience. You can watch a 90 second film about this attraction on their website which is excellent.

Lama Trekking at Old king Street Farm - NP16 6AA

Lamas are gentle, affectionate and unique animals and Lama Trekking is fast becoming a popular family attraction. At Old king Street Farm you can spend the day with the charming creatures and enjoy feeding them, grooming them and having a stroll through the woodland. Lamas are not ridden but they can carry all the picnic essentials including tables and chairs! Lama Treks around the stunning Black Mountains are also available.

Merlin Hill Centre - SA67 8BP

Merlin Hill Centre is a working dairy farm located deep in the Carmarthenshire countryside. Although not a petting farm the farm is still very family friendly with plenty of fun activities to keep children happy. The farm has a good sized play area and plenty of picnic tables as well as a Farmyard Heritage Centre where visitors can learn all about Welsh farm life and about the mystical Legend of Merlin. Get there early if you want to watch the cows being milked!
