Well it was quite eventful. We live in Colchester, so no too far from Debenhambut the floods were a surprise and it was cut off. The property is described as private,but the owner is passing directly in front of the property several times a day to work at the end of the field and even had a bonfire on one day,so made it undesirable to use the outside space on that afternoon. We loved watching the wildlife, especially the birds, bunnies and occassional deer.Joe and Sandra are friendly and approachable, but not intrusive. Lots of places to visit including Southwold, Framlingham etc. Took advantage of the very local takeaway.....twice! Hot tub was a treat and hosts were lovely and enjoyed welcome treats.

We had a wonderful stay at the Mill. It was wonderfully quiet and isolated, sitting out on the deck or in the sunroom provided a lovely view of the fields and the rabbits hopping around. Absolutely loved our stay here, such a quirky beautiful building. We felt welcomed and comfortable as soon as we arrived; so much attention to detail, beautiful decor, comfortable bed and sofas, well stocked kitchen with everything thought of. This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area. The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region. The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK. Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.

We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals. Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas. On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks. Hot food is available over lunch times.

Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK. The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.

Colchester Zoo is a fantastic place to visit with something for all the family. Wander around and see the array of animals in excellent habitats. Don't forget to visit the Leopards at Ussuri Falls, this new expansion can be located opposte the White Tiger Valley and the Medellin Momkeys. Other popular areas of the zoo include Tiger Taiga, Chimp World and Wallaby Walkabout. Look out for special events throughout the year such as Shriek Week on Halloween.
