Shefferlands Lodge At Calthwaite Hall Reviews

James
The place was great, staff were super friendly and helpfuland Tony made everything even better. We really enjoyed our stay!
Emily Carter
We had an amazing stay at this lodge! It’s super cosy and surprisingly spacious, with plenty of storage in the kitchen, bedroomsand bathrooms - really handy. The location was perfect, especially with the pub just across the road for easy meals out. It’s a quiet, remote spot, so a car’s needed for walks, but that wasn’t a problem for us. We’d definitely come back, loved every minute!
Emily
We really enjoyed our stay at Shefferlands! The place was spotless and super comfy. The location is perfect for exploring the Lakes, Northumberlandand even Scotland without much hassle. The only downside was the motorway getting busy because of a festival while we were there, but we didn’t hear any noise from it or the railway. The hot tub and outdoor furniture were brilliant, especially since it was too hot to stay inside the lodge in July. We’d definitely come back!
Mark D.
The lodge was charming, but the bedroom TV kept turning off. Fingers crossed it’s sorted by July!
Emma Clarke
We had such a lovely stay! The lodge was spotless and super comfyand the jacuzzi was a real treat-so relaxing with those peaceful views. The village pub, The Globe Inn, was charming, with a gorgeous garden perfect for meals and drinks. Luckily, the weather was gorgeous, making our days even better. Lazy mornings, walks with our dog, then unwinding in the hot tub-what more could we ask for? Definitely planning to return soon!
Emma
The place was tidy, but we found flies in the hot tub and the peacocks were quite loud at times.
Emma
We booked three cabins plus the coach house for New Year’sand honestly, it was brilliant. The place is so peaceful and private, perfect for relaxing. The staff, cleanersand owners were super helpful and friendly throughout. We definitely plan to come back - can’t wait for our next stay here! Highly recommended.

Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 10 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 15 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 16 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 21 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
