Lovely, comfortable, well furnished, high spec property. Great location. Everything you would need for a holiday. Nice bedding, plenty of towels. All good. Nice touch with the crackers and cheese and milk, also useful when renting for a short time tea/coffee condiments. Wouldn't hesitate in booking again. Very pleasant and roomy accommodation. Although we did not cook all the time the kitchen was very well equipped with all you would need. Hot tub was great and beds were very comfortable. Perfect place for visiting around the Northumberland Coast and Scottish Lowlands.
Marilyn
Impeccably clean and presented in a very amenable location
Tracy
Right on the edge of Alnwick and easy driving to many other places. It was spacious, quiet (we were the only guests in the complex) and relaxing. The Thomsons (new owners) were lovely. It was a little expensive as we were under occupied (space for 4 people but only two of us) but we needed two rooms. Having the hot tub was a great way to relax afte r being out and about. Note: tea, coffee, milk & condiments are provided. Cheese and crackers a wee bonus we didn't get time to enjoy.
Alan

Julie
This is an exceptionaly comfortable, spotlessly clean property with such a high standard of furnishings, decor and furniture. A lovely property well situated for a holiday any time of year. Would most definitely return.
Sue
The property is lovely and finished to a high standard. Location is perfect for ease of access from the A1. Alnwick has lots of lovely places to eat and a lot to explore all within walking distance. The site has a number of properties and would be great for a large family/friends gathering. The hot tub at the Retreat, where we stayed, isn't covered so we did not use it as we had rain at times. I highly recommend staying at this property.
Veronica
Beautiful home, well equipped. Location great. Loved the hot tub
Isabelle
We enjoyed our holiday at Thornbrae Retreat so much weve rebooked for next year at Thornbrae Cottage. Located just a short walk from the town, the Thornbrae properties are ideal for visitors looking for a great base to explore the surrounding area and the hot tub was great after a day out. Alnwick visitors certainly wont go hungry - there are lots to choose from for any type of meal and good supermarkets too if dining at the property. Owners, Mick and Julie, are very friendly and helpful.
