Right on the edge of Alnwick and easy driving to many other places. It was spacious, quiet (we were the only guests in the complex) and relaxing. The Thomsons (new owners) were lovely. It was a little expensive as we were under occupied (space for 4 people but only two of us) but we needed two rooms. Having the hot tub was a great way to relax afte r being out and about. Note: tea, coffee, milk & condiments are provided. Cheese and crackers a wee bonus we didn't get time to enjoy.

The site has a number of properties and would be great for a large family/friends gathering. The hot tub at the Retreat, where we stayed, isn't covered so we did not use it as we had rain at times. We enjoyed our holiday at Thornbrae Retreat so much weve rebooked for next year at Thornbrae Cottage. Located just a short walk from the town, the Thornbrae properties are ideal for visitors looking for a great base to explore the surrounding area and the hot tub was great after a day out. Alnwick visitors certainly wont go hungry - there are lots to choose from for any type of meal and good supermarkets too if dining at the property.
