Fantastic location with ample dog walking routes on the estate as well as out to local villages and very friendly staff. Recommend The Crown Inn at Manfield an hours walk away which is dog friendly. The wood fired hot tub is great but it does take up your time to get to temperature. There is plenty to see and do in the area with Richmond and Raby cRead moreastles both worth a visit, as well as Hopetown Darlington the birthplace of the steam railway which has free entry and great interactive exhibits. Diane
The cottage was beautiful and a lovely quiet location, which was exactly what we asked for when booking. The hot tub didn't work out for us unfortunately as we underestimated how long it would take to heat up each day, after we had been out all day visiting places of interest. The cottage interior was finished to the highest standard, a lovely baseRead more for a holiday. Hide

Neil
The interior decor was very well thought out, and felt fresh and clean. Situated in the grounds of the manor, along with a working farm, it was quiet and relaxing. The wood fire powered hot tub is a definite novelty!
Hayley
This cottage is beautifully decorated, well equipped, clean, with lovely soft furnishings & comfy beds. The location was quiet & fairly remote, right at the end of a long lane on a farm/estate, but a great base to explore the surroundings areas of Yorkshire. We used the wood fire hot tub once as it was quite time consuming to heat but our daughter enjoyed it. The only minor negative was the patchy WiFi, which affected us watching films of an evening. Overall we had a fabulous time here.
Kim
Arrived late due to bad traffic, no signage where to go once on estate, had to text/phone Jo who seemed apathetic to any communication. Not as clean as other reviews found, our dog didnt settle as lots of strong dog smells in cottage which I could smell. Lovely estate but no info on walks - basic ordnance map printed out, we ended up walking on theRead more Dales. Beds were very comfortable. Very expensive for what it is, as it is only 6 days! Hide

We loved our stay and were sad to leave after three days of exploring the spectacular Yorkshire Dales. The cottage location is picturesque, private and peaceful and interior beautifully appointed with spotless, comfortable spaces for eating, relaxing and sleeping. The welcome basket of goodies was much appreciated on our first night as the local pu b was not doing food. Our only regret was not having the time to heat up the hot tub. Hope to come back again some day.
Donna
Lovely cottage, great location. Felt very homely, everything I needed to cook an Easter dinner. I would stay here again.
Alison
A lovely cottage. Comfortable, well equipped in a perfect location. Clean, lots of helpful information provided. Very comfortable for 4, our dog also made very welcome. Hot tub was great. Lovely walks from the property and lots to do and see nearby. We will be back.
Melanie
Beautiful homely cottage. House was warm and comfortable. Bed and pillows were just right. Hot tub needed a good 4-5 hours to heat every day (longer on cold, windy days), but the owners provided plenty of logs to cover the nights we stayed. Lovely walks nearby and easy drives to Hamsterly Forest, Agarth falls and Bolton castle. We loved our stay.
Samantha
The cottage is in a lovely peaceful locations; with walks from the door all over the estate. The cottage is clean and well appointed; the beds very comfortable and the kitchen huge! All in all, a very relaxing place to stay.
Julia
The cottage was beautiful, such lovely decoration and very well appointed. It was great to have the outside space and for it to be so quiet around, really gives you the chance to get away from it all. Just perfect
David
Great location plenty of places to visit within easy reach ideal place to chill and have a relaxing few days away, would definitely return in warmer climate, well worth it
Charles
The cottage was lovely and cosy with a log burner. The only neighbours were horses and we hardly saw anyone else. The welcome from Jo was excellent and the welcome pack was a lovely gesture. No faults. It was a perfect getaway. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending.
Paul
Lovely cottage, very well maintained
Lynn
Lovely cottage set in rural location. Ideal for us to recharge our batteries. Driving distance to many local market towns, making it an ideal base.
Gaby
Absolutely fantastic cottage with everything that you could possibly need for a really enjoyable stay. We had a fabulous time and will definitely be making a return visit.
Margaret
A really beautiful cottage inside and out, country side and views lovely. We had such a lovely time just relaxing and taking in the sights. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a home to home stay in this holiday cottage, it had/has everything we needed to make us feel comfortable. Owners were welcoming and friendly along with other members of the family. Will try and come again next year, thank you to all.

Debbie
Absolutely fabulous cottage beautiful surroundings. So comfortable didnt want to leave. Great location for hikes and some breathtaking scenery. Owner and staff couldnt be more helpful.
Elaine
We had a very relaxing holiday with friends and dogs. The cottage is beautifully decorated and very cosy. It is very well situated in a country setting but close to all amenities.
Grant
The cottage was really nice and exceeded my expectations. It was quiet, relaxed and comfortable. The basket of goodies when we arrived was a very nice touch. The only problem was there was to much to see and do so we will have to come back as we did not cover off half of the things on my lists and we never got to walk round the estate or walk to th e local pub. Next time!
Emma
Amazing property, amazing location, amazing service! Would definitely return and recommend to friends/family. Jo was the most wonderful host, full of useful info and nothing was too much trouble. We were made to feel very at home. Highly recommend visiting Raby Castle, High Force falls and walking from the cottage to The Crown Inn on a Sunday - the Sunday dinner is the best weve had (the walk took approx 45 mins). The hot tub is a labour of love but worth the perseverance.
Roxanne
We had a wonderful time . Beautiful property and the owners and house "nanny" were so lovely and helpful. I will forever recommend x
Sue
Lovely warm, comfy cottage. Beautifully furnished with quality linen & towels. Great walks from the cottage. Would definitely stay again.
Rachel
This is a fabulous cottage. If you want to use the hot tub you need to get the fire going 4/5 hours to get the water to temperature from cold but it is well worth the effort.
Jessica
Really lovely cottage in great grounds. Everyone so friendly and helpful. Very child and dog friendly!
Tina
Very pretty cottage. Ideal for rest and relaxation. We had a lovely welcome hamper which is so kind, thank you. The cottage had fully equipped kitchen and everything we needed to cook meals. We had a lovely time and felt very at home as it was so comfy. Thank you for a lovely stay
Jennifer
We had an amazing stay and Olivia was very welcoming and helpful when we had questions for her. The cottage was clean and had everything you could possibly want. The garden and surrounding area was lovely and within walking distance of the local pub and shop. There was good information in the cottage about other amenities and recommendations for wa lks and places to eat. We particularly enjoyed the fish and chip van and Thai van that comes to the village. The hot tub was fab.

There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.

Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family.  The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower.  For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel.  Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too.  If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.
