The Fernery Reviews

Emma
We had a lovely stay at this cosy cottage tucked away in the countryside. It’s beautifully decorated and well-stocked. Plenty of sights nearby, but we loved coming back to the peaceful, comfy place after busy days out. Definitely a great find!
Jamie
We had a lovely stay here! The location is perfect, with loads of dog-friendly walking spots both on the estate and in nearby villages. The staff were really welcoming and friendly, which made our visit even better. The hot tub was a highlight, though it did take a while to heat up. There’s plenty to explore around-Richmond and Raby Castles are definitely worth a tripand Hopetown Darlington is a great place for train fans with free entry and fun exhibits. We’d come back!
James
The location was perfect, loved the cosy feel of the snugand the hot pool was a real highlight. Animals were adorable too!
Emma
This cosy cottage was just what we needed, in a great spot. The hot tub was fab, but remember to heat it up in the morning for a relaxing evening soak. Plenty to explore nearby within an hour’s drive-definitely recommend!
Emma
We recently stayed and had a fantastic time! The cottage really felt like a cosy home, blending charm with luxury. The location was stunning, with animals just outside the door, which was lovely. The hot tub was a great added bonus. Jo and Liam were super friendly and helpful. We’re already planning our next visit - highly recommend this place!
Emily
The cottage was super cosy and had everything we needed. The welcome basket was a lovely surprise. It’s such a peaceful spot - we’ll be back for sure!
Emma
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The location was perfect-peaceful and exactly what we wanted. The interior was finished beautifully, making it a lovely cosy place to relax. Sadly, the hot tub wasn’t much use for us since it took longer to heat than we expected after busy days out exploring. Still, it was a great base for our holiday!
Emma
The cottage was fantastic-spacious, super cleanand beautifully decorated. The location couldn’t be betterand it had everything we needed for a lovely three-day break. We definitely want to come back!
Alex
We loved staying here! The cottage’s location near Barton is perfect. The welcome pack with local goodies was a lovely touch. Beds were comfy, though the pillows could be softer. Dog-friendly too!
Emma Roberts
Had a fantastic birthday weekend here with my sister and our dog. The cosy log burner was lovelyand we appreciated the dog extras. The DVD collection in the snug was a real bonus, made everything so relaxed and enjoyable.

Beautiful surroundings, very relaxing, close to everything we needed.
Maggie
This place is perfect for a peaceful getaway. The view from the snug is stunningand it’s super cosy inside. Our dogs had a great timeand we loved relaxing after long walks all week.
Alex
The inside of the place was really nicely decorated, fresh and spotless. It’s set in the manor grounds with a working farm nearby, so super peaceful. The hot tub with a wood fire was such a quirky bonus - loved it!
Lucy
This cottage is beautifully decorated, well equipped, cleanand has lovely soft furnishings with comfy beds. The location is quiet and fairly remote, right at the end of a long lane on a farm or estate, making it a great base to explore the surrounding areas of Yorkshire. We used the wood fire hot tub once as it was quite time consuming to heat, but our daughter really enjoyed it! The only minor downside was the patchy WiFi, which did affect our ability to watch films in the evening. Overall, we had a fabulous time here.
Alex
We arrived a bit late thanks to trafficand honestly, finding our way was tricky since there was no clear signage on the estate. Had to ring Jo, who seemed a bit disinterested in helping. The cottage wasn’t as spotless as we expectedand our dog was a bit unsettled due to the strong dog smells. The estate is lovely, but there’s no info on walks - just a basic map, so we ended up exploring the Dales instead. Beds were super comfy though, but it’s pretty pricey for only 6 days! Wouldn’t rush back.
Samantha
The cottage is in a lovely peaceful locations; with walks from the door all over the estate. The cottage is clean and well appointed; the beds very comfortable and the kitchen huge! All in all, a very relaxing place to stay.
Emma
What a lovely cottage in such a rural spot! It was perfect for us to recharge our batteries. Plus, it’s just a quick drive to loads of local market towns, which makes it an ideal base.
Emma
This cottage is absolutely fantastic! It has everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable stay. We had a fabulous time and will be making a return visit for sure.
James
The cottage was really lovely and exceeded our expectations. It was quiet, relaxed and comfortable. The basket of goodies when we arrived was such a nice touch. The only issue was there was too much to see and do, so we will definitely have to come back since we didn’t cover half of the things on our lists and we never got to walk around the estate or stroll to the local pub. Next time!
Emily
This cottage is just lovelyand the grounds are fantastic! Everyone we met was super friendly and helpful. It’s definitely great for kids and dogs too!

Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family.  The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower.  For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel.  Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too.  If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.
