Gorwel Deg Reviews

Me and my boyfriend stayed here 5 nights and it was just wonderful. The views from the house are out of this world beautiful and it was so peaceful just sitting and watching the world go by. The house was fully stocked I cannot think of anything else that we couldve needed. There were tons of information in the guestbook on things to do, places to eat and things to know about the house. The king size bed was super comfy and we had a restful sleep every night. At one point we had an issue with the house being quite warm but we contact the owner and he came over straight away and unlocked the thermostat for us so we could control the temperature. We will definitely be back to this little slice of heaven! Thank you for having us!
Well stocked. Lovely outlook.
This house is in a beautiful location. the views are stunning, the house is very clean and comfortable. The hot tub is fab and much needed after a day of exploring. This house is extremley well priced and we would certianly recommend it to our family and friends
Really nice place with amazing views and hot tub. Everything made easy and wonderfully considered for the guests
A fabulous cottage, very comfortable with lots of welcome extras. Its in the perfect location for exploring Snowdonia or the coast and Anglesey.
We had a lovely time and everything that we needed. Thank you so much.
A beautiful well appointed house with incredible views. Thanks for a great 2 weeks we were all sad to leave and for responding so quickly when we had questions.
Property and hosts fantastic. Views magnificent. handy location for exploring North Wales
It's a charming holiday cottage in the beautiful location of Bethesda and an excellent launchpad to explore north Wales. The property itself is nicely renovated two adjoining houses On one side are the three bedrooms double and twin upstairs with a bathroom king downstairs leading to the conservatory, and on the other side is a snug leading to a kitchen and shower room downstairs and a living room upstairs that's access via a second staircase. It's an unusual layout and you can't walk from the living room to the upstairs bedrooms without walking downstairs and then upstairs again, but it works extremely well. Those with young children may want to bring a child monitor because from the kitchen or living room you wouldn't hear your children in the bedrooms, but equally you have the reassurance that they won't be disturbed. The owners kindly provided a travel cot which can be placed in the snug if required This is in the centre of the house and would be heard from both the living roomkitchen as well as the king bedroom downstairs. The entire property was nicely decorated and very clean. It's clear that the owners take care of it and it feels like a lovely home from home. I particularly enjoyed the living room a lovely space large space to relax in the evening, with a balcony from the living room where you can take in the views. Outside of the conservatory and kitchen is a lovely seating area and hot tub too. This is a gorgeous place to eat outside enjoy the views even more. I believe you're looking at Elidir Fawr with Snowdon in the background. I think you can also see the Carneddau range as you look round further to your left. Parking is easy as the property has its own long driveway down the side which is helpful when loadingunloading the car not too far to walk. We only had two cars but I expect you could easily fit three or four cars if needed. The location worked extremely well for us too We're keen hikers and you're just 10 mins from Tryfan and about 25 mins from PenyPass for Snowdon. It's only 1015 mins to get to Bangor which has large supermarkets and it's an excellent base to explore Anglesey too. We didn't have much time to spend in Bethesda itself but there's a Tesco Express and a child's playground etc it seemed well served if you don't want to venture too far. The owners are brilliant Very helpful and communicative, providing all of the necessary information in advance of your stay. They're exactly who you would hope to run your holiday cottage. They're also based next door to the holiday cottage which is reassuring should you have any problems, although we didn't get to speak to them too much as we were busy enjoying Wales and had no issues to discuss. We had a wonderful week and I would happily book this cottage again in future.

Four of us stayed for a week in May 2024. The house is so comfortable and clean and the owners had kindly left for us some delicious homemade scones and jam. There is parking space for at least four cars. They had switched on the hot tub as we requested and sitting in it on the wide deck, looking at Snowden and the surrounding countryside was a great pleasure. We have no hesitation in recommending this house. Thank you to the owners, who obviously care very much for their holiday tenants.

Magic property to stay at very comfy double beds everything there you could need. Central to places you want to get to.
Although we had a wonderful time we had 2 issues, the first been multiple woodlice in several ground floor rooms and the second been in regards to music been played either on a piano or an electronic keyboard on most mornings waking us both, relaxation was the key part of our holiday as I have multiple health issues and same with my Fiance. Apart from the 2 items stated above we had a wonderful time.
Great location, friendlyattentive host, amazing views.

The holiday property was lovely. We really enjoyed our stay. It was immaculately clean, warm and comfy with lots of personal touches, like the Christmas Tree for our New Year stay. A lovely surprise was the homemade scones and prosecco left as a welcome gift. The hot tub was an extra bonus which the children loved even in the rainy weather. Thank you Arwel & Delyth

Beautiful property in an ideal location for exploring North Wales. The views from the cottage are stunning. The hosts were amazing! From booking to leaving we felt truly and warmly welcomed, without the feeling of being intrusive in any which way. The homemade scones, Prosecco and well stocked condiments were a lovely and very well received touch. The hot tub was a wonderful way to end busy days of exploration. Thank you

Fantastic property, well presented, comfortable with all you need for cooking and entertainment. This includes good WiFi, smart tv, smart speakers 2 , seating for 6 throughout including deck outside. The hot tub was ready for us day 1 and was a welcome feature, especially with Snowdonia mountains providing the back drop. Fresh scones, jam, cream and Prosseco , spread and even ice greeted us. Thanks to the generous owners who clearly know the business. Can't wait for the return.
A lovely, well presented house with fabulous views. We had a wonderful week at Gorwel Deg. On arrival we found fresh scones, jam, cream and Prosecco to enjoy as we sat on the terrace enjoying the spectacular scenery and amazing sunset. The hot tub was used everyday, especially after our adventures which included the zip wire, Zip World can be seen from the house and climbing Snowdon which is a short drive away. The house has an interesting, quirky layout, it seems really big with the two staircases and the living room upstairs with that amazing view. It had everything we needed. The beds were comfy with gorgeous bedding. The bathrooms were modern and clean, fabulous shower. The kitchen is a good size and had all we needed to cook a meal. The WiFi signal is good. The owners live next door and respond quickly to any questionsissues. It was such a great holiday, we were very lucky with such fabulous weather Thank you Arwel & Delyth

Lovely property, views are amazing. The cottage is very well looked after and having small things like hand wash, toilet roll and condiments supplied is a nice touch, lots of cottages weve stayed at dont have this. Top quality.
Beautiful, wellequipped holiday cottage with stunning views. Perfect holiday stay for the whole family with wonderful welcome touches from Delyth and Arwen to make guests feel right at home. Lovely walks in and around Bethesda and a short drive to more in Yr Wydda Snowdon, castles, beaches, lakes and the fastest zip wire in the world!

Gorwel Deg is a beautiful House for a great holiday. The property was spotless spacious & very cosy with everything we needed for our stay. The scones were very appreciated & delicious. The views from the balcony were beautiful & the location was perfect for exploring the surrounding area & anglesey. The owners were also friendly & very helpful. We would definately reccommend this property to anyone.
The house is still immaculate 18 months after our first visit. Very comfy, good beds and showers and equipped with everything we need for complete self catering and to manage all our muddy hiking and cycling gear! Gorgeous sunsets from the balcony and patio and fascinating views over the town and valley and across to the quarry and Zipworld and the hills around. A fabulous base for walkinghiking more gentle and sheltered walks around the village and valley, beautiful walks on the many footpaths around the local hills and big hikes on the Carneddi and Glyder mountains with stunning views across Snowdonia and the North coastAnglesey, the area being almost as high as Snowdon but very much more peaceful! Good tracks and bridleways for offroad cycling toodown to the coast and up the valley to Llyn Ogwen lake and beyond. A great place to stay and worthy of repeated visits to explore the whole area.
Great view from balcony, peaceful location, good base for touring area. Lovely clean house with hot tub, three bedrooms and upstairs lounge. Tesco in town, but welcome basket and useful condiments available on arrival. Would recommend. We like to relax generally with a few hours out in a castle or beach, but zip world and lots of walks nearby for more active holiday makers.
The cottage is superb with everything you could possibly need. The scones on arrival were a lovely touch. We loved the hot tub which made coming back from our days out a lovely treat. Spacious for our large family. Our girls loved all the jigsaws too.
Had a fantastic stay. The house is lovely and has everything that you need for your stay. The views are amazing and the hot tub is an added bonus.
Lovely property with very helpful owners, and the few goodies left for us in property at start were really appreciated. The property was clean, is spacious and just what you want on a holiday. The hot tub was great and was used every night. The owners were very helpful. They also left a few goodies to get our holiday started. There's some nice walks in the hills above the property and Penrhyn Castle a few minutes away is an amazing house, definitely under sold by the National Trust.
Jordane
We've loved it there, there's a lot to do around and the owners are lovely. The house was very clean and we enjoyed our stay very much!
The house was perfect. We loved the quirky layout, the fixtures and fittings were all high quality and there was everything we needed and more!. All the views from the house are beautiful. The location was a great base for exploring North Wales, including Anglesey. The owners live next door and were very helpful, even arranging birthday balloons for our daughter.
George
Absolutely beautiful property with stunning views from the deck. Amazingly well kitted out with everything you could possibly need for a nice stay. Property was beautifully clean, furnished very tastefully and cosy. The hot tub was also perfect after a day out walking to relax in and has a beautiful view of the Penrhyn Quarry to enjoy while you relax. You can tell the owners really care about this place and have gone the extra mile to ensure guests feel welcome and have a great time.
This is a lovely house with great views over the valley. It was very clean and had everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Great place, amazing views, hot tub was amazing, nice and clean house well equipped with everting you could need all in all really enjoy our holiday and will be hopefully booking again soon! ..
Lovely place to stay. We all had a fabulous holiday. Plenty of place to take the kids to see. Great place to relax after a day out very comfortable.
We had a lovely week staying at Gorwel Deg. The property was just as it looks on the website. It was well presented, well maintained, well equipped and very clean. It felt really special with things like the furnishings and the hot tub but at the same time felt like a home from home and was really comfy, and we loved the quirky design which we all had lots of fun exploring when we arrived. It was so central to everything and everywhere in north Wales and the scenery from it was stunning. The sunsets and the cloud formations were amazing. Topped off with the welcome when we arrived of basic food necessities such as tea, coffee, milk and margarine and the extras of scones, cream and jam we dont drink so we didnt drink the Prosecco made a lovely finishing touch. We would whole hearted recommend this property to anyone.
Danielle
The holiday home was a great base for exploring about 30mins drive from most places. The house itself was spacious, clean and comfortable. The hot tub and view are amazing! Perfect for relaxing after a busy day of activities. I would definitely stay again.
Best cottage we've stayed in. All other holidays have taken some cleaning by us before we even begin our holidays!! Very quirky layout and anyone tall will have to mind their heads in a couple of areas! The house is beautifully done, everything is the best quality, beds, matresses, joules bedding, a pile of towels each, kitchenware etc. Very clean throughout including all the kitchenware and utensils. The things we always take to a self catering holiday were provided, teatowels, salt, pepper, sauces, vinager, oil, tea, coffee, sugar, hot chocolate, sweetener, hand wash, washing up liquid, cleaning cloth and sponge, margarine, hair dryer in ech bedroom. The homemade scones with cream, jam and proseco were fabulous! Hot tub was a lovely addition after long days of walking. Gorwel Deg is perfectly sited to visit all the places you'd want to around this area. You can see the zip wire from the lounge and terrace and the mountain views are beautiful. Owners only next door which was nice to know if we needed anything. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will definitely be back again.
