About Drifters

Offering incredible, far-reaching views of the sand dunes and sea at Winterton Beach, Drifters provides stunning accommodation for a family or group wanting to escape to this relaxing coastal Norfolk Village. Drifters is a spacious, detached property on a private road in Winterton-on-Sea with a driveway offering parking for up to three vehicles and a small lawned area at the front of the property.

A key box code is required to get inside the property, where you will be met with a grand entrance hall with lovely wooden flooring, leading through to a spacious sitting room which has two sofas and an arm chair, each positioned around the Smart TV with Sky package, perfect for unwinding at the end of the day, there are two sets of French doors that provide lots of light and lead into the huge conservatory, which spans the length of the back of the house. This is one of the highlights of the property, offering uninterrupted sea views, as well as a sofa from which to admire them and a dining table and chairs where you can enjoy home-cooked meals together and take in the incredible scenery.

The generously-sized kitchen has lovely white cupboards with dark work tops and provides plenty of space for preparing meals, or perhaps a picnic to take to the beach, there's even a dishwasher so you don't have to give the washing up a second thought. The ground floor features two bedrooms, a king-size double and a bunk room, both overlooking the front of the property, both are very spacious and offer plenty of storage space for your belongings.

A shower room with nautical-style decor of white tiled floor and blue wood panelling provides a walk-in shower and means there will be no fighting with people upstairs to use the bathroom! Heading up the carpeted staircase, there are a further two bedrooms on the first floor; the master king-size overlooks the sea and has an en-suite shower room for added convenience, while a twin bedroom with ample storage and more incredible sea views completes the line up.

Drifters Reviews

Dannielle
We had an amazing time at Drifters. The house was beautiful, immaculately clean and very well equipped. It is very spacious, for a house that sleeps 8, this was perfect as we did not feel like we were on top of each other. Bedrooms were lovely and had really comfy beds. Excellent communication from the owner, I had a query prior to arriving and he responded very quickly and was really helpful. Finally, the location was AMAZING! The view from the house was unreal and no picture will do it justice. A walk down some steps and you are on a huge stretch of dunes, and beach access. We were so lucky that we got to see 100s of seals and pups, an amazing experience. The local pub is around 10 minute walk, the chippy just a little bit longer and a coop 5 minute drive away. Took around 25 mins to drive to Great Yarmouth. Overall, an excellent stay that we would absolutely consider booking again.
Property was spacious and exceeded out expectations, with lovely furnishings . Everybody said how comfortable the beds were with lots of room in the bedrooms , a very large lounge and tv , fantastic conservatory with lovely views of the sea . We all loved our stay and would love to come back again .
Nice house however would not rebook , as price I feel for next year is way over the top to be honest
We had a lovely relaxing week celebrating my husband's 60th Birthday. My two sons, their partners and our baby grandaughter all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The two dogs loved the walks. We will really miss the tranquility and views. Will definitely be back. Just Amazing!
Drifters has an outstanding position with a great sea view and is a beautifully appointed and equipped house. We could have spent the entire time there without going out, enjoying the views from the garden and conservatory as well as the hot tub. We expect to be back soon.
We loved this property so much so that we are about to book it again for next year. There was one minor thing missing when we arrived, but Tom the owner responded immediately to my WhatsApp query and arranged an Amazon Prime dropoff the next day. Full marks!

Great for 3 related families covering 3 generations. Great location for access to beach, dog walks and strolls to the pretty village of Winterton. The property has been thoughtfully appointed, has a wow factor hallway, and really works well for large groups. Many thanks

We had a fantastic stay at Drifters. The house was absolutely beautiful, lots of attention to detail, the decor was gorgeous. It was clean and comfortable. The view was amazing too. We would highly recommend and would indeed go back ourselves too.
We loved our stay at Drifters. The house is stunning, the sea view from the garden is stunning. The house is very spacious, ideal for a family holiday. Loved sitting in the conservatory, eating around the table, looking at the sea. The area is nice and peaceful, would love to come back here. The beach is just over the dunes at the back of the property, the beach is quiet, you can walk either way. We loved everything about our stay.
We were a part of 6 adults and the accommodation was ideal for us. Plenty of room and a wonderful view of the sea
Beautiful and well thoughtout property in a superb location. Thank you
Weve been going to Winterton for over 20 years and this is by far the best place weve stayed. The house was spacious, clean and really well equipped with amazing sea views. The hot tub was a welcome addition to a very enjoyable family holiday. Thank you
Angela
What a hidden gem in a property. Really really enjoyed our stay in your beautiful house,so much so that we have booked for next year already. We found everything clean and tidy and well presented throughout. Thank you very much for letting us share your home
A superb property in a fantastic location we had a great family holiday in the perfect holiday home. We will return in the future and miss the views and walks along the beach.
Fantastic property, the accommodation was amazing and the views and beachsand dunes access was amazing. We would love to come back and my pet dog Ringo the beagle had the time of his life, he still misses Drifters every day.
Edward
Enjoyable stay. Great walks and views.Five star property.
An excellent property in a fantastic location. We would no hesitate to return
The cottage was beautiful lovely large rooms and immaculately clean. Fantastic location with the dunes an AONB right outside the garden gate leading to the beautiful beach. We went to see the seals at Horsey Gap and hired a boat for the day on the Broads. It's just a short trip to Great Yarmouth too. We would definitely go back.
The only reason I didn't give big smile on 1 of the ratings was because of the steep steps going down to the sand dunes. It was only because I had read previous reviews after we had booked it that I realised but the pictures and description were a bit misleading. It wasn't much of an issue for myself and my dog but think it would be only fair to let people know before they book. Anyway apart from that the house was amazing, couldn't fault the cleanliness and would definitely like to return again one day. The beach was magnificent and it was so lovely to see the seals
We had a wonderful stay at Drifters, we were lucky with the weather. Being able to walk the dogs on to the dunes from the garden was fantastic. The house was very comfortable and we had a very relaxing week.
Drifters proved to be a very comfortable holiday stay. Being within easy travel of a variety of venues meant there was no rush to leave in the morning. Beach lovers had a maximum of 10mins to reach the sand and sea, with direct access from the garden. The property and amenities were clean and well maintained. As a group of 4 we had plenty of room!!
Denise
What a beautiful house in a beautiful setting, it was perfectly clean with welcome gifts on our arrival, such a nice touch. We LOVED our stay and would definitely recommend to family and friends. Being right on the beach as well as a hot tub was just perfect.
Denise
Overall our stay was absolutely lovely. One thing that we were disappointed with and only because I took my elderly parents with me was that there were step stairs down to the beach area, this made it impossible for them to reach the beach from the house. The pictures of the back garden looking out to sea are very misleading. May be some tvs in the bedrooms would be nice to.
Wow! everyone in our group exclaimed when they arrived at Drifters, and the house matched up to our first impressions it was spacious, comfortable, clean and well equipped. The close proximity of the property to the sand dunes and beautiful beach made the location very special. We were all constantly absorbed by the sea views especially from the swing seat at the end of the garden and it was so easy just to pop out for a quick swim in the sea. Seeing a curious seal swimming alongside us was awesome. We would highly recommend Drifters, but do have just one qualification there were several glass internal doors that we did not think were glazed with safety glass. The space makes the house a wonderful place for children to have a holiday, but we were concerned about the dangers of a small child running into one of the glass panes and having a serious accident. The owners were very helpful concerning a broken TV, so we feel sure that they would like to be made aware of this possible issue.

Attractions Near Drifters

While there'll be plenty to keep you entertained an Drifters itself, if you plan to get out and about and see some of what Norfolk has to offer, here are some of the nearby attractions you can enjoy during your stay. Please note that some of these activities and days out are paid and it's always a good idea to book in advance to secure your place where applicable.

Found a special day out near your cottage? Please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too!
Bewilderwood - NR12 8JW
about 10 Miles
Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park - NR32 4TZ
about 14 Miles
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed.  The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.
Africa Alive - NR33 7TF
about 20 Miles
Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
Dinosaur Adventure Park - NR9 5JW
about 24 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
Sheringham Park - NR26 8TL
about 26 Miles
The National Trust Sheringham Park in Norfolk was designed by Humphry Repton and the book of original designs can still be seen. The park has many attractions including a viewing tower and a gazebo with amazing coastal views, wildlife trails which young children will love and an exhibition barn where visitors can learn the history of the park.
