Hargate Farm Barn Reviews

Fantastic property it far exceeded our expectations. It was extremely well equipped and the Christmas decorations really enhanced the beauty of the property and the decor and furnishings. An amazing property for a get away from it all break.
We had a great time, and hope to return in future years. We loved the fact that the garden is fully secure for the dog, which is not true of all gardens that advertise this. We appreciated the fact that when minor issues emerged, they were dealt with quickly and efficiently. And we valued the prompt and friendly attention of the owners when requiredhelpful, alongside the privacy at other times.
Absolutely gorgeous property owners are lovely and went above and beyond to make our stay fab. Would highly recommend this cottage
We had an amazing week and the barn was perfect. Everything was so clean and the beds so comfortable. Clear Norfolk skies and Norwich a short drive away.
Caroline
Michelle and Stephen were excellent hosts. They greeted us when we arrived we loved the welcome pack . The accommodation was excellent and we didn't want to leave. everything there you needed can't wait to visit again soon. highly recommend it
A lovely place to stay, very comfortable, lots of thoughtful finishing touches. Kitchen was well equipped & the hot tub was great! Great location for exploring Norfolk.
A lovely property but very disappointed with being charged 86 after we arrived home for a stained quilt cover . Very underhand please if you book this property watch yourselves. Spoilt our holiday will never return .
Hargate Farm Barn is a superb holiday rental, extremely comfortable and spacious. Very clean & well maintained with lovely furnishings to make it very enjoyable. Lots of areas to sit & relax& a large garden to enjoy. The owners are very friendly & helpful with lots of local information & recommendations. The location made it easy for us to explore parts of Norfolk, I would have like to walk to the local villages but I wouldnt recommend as the roads are busy & the verges not easy for pedestrians in places.

The cottage was lovely with some fabulous features, for example, the beautiful inner courtyard and the stunning large garden. Everything was perfection from the welcome, the comfort, the facilities including the hot tub, the cleanliness, and plenty of space for our multigenerational family and 2 dogs. We would highly recommend.
Louise
The property was beautiful and really well equipped for our needs. We had a fantastic weekend and would recommend this property to anyone
Beverley
Absolutely superb. The house is amazing and so well maintained. The owners are lovely and so helpful. We had a wonderful time. 4 adults and 2 children and never felt crowded. Separate lounge at front of house for quiet times great for granny and grandad to hide away. The owners have created a wonderful holiday home. Worth every penny.

What an amazing place Hargate Farm Cottage is. We had a fabulous restful break and wanted for nothing. Michelle and Stephen were excellent hosts. Highly recommended
Truly outstanding! ! My family and i spent three nights at the facility and were simply blown away. We had a dog with us too and on arrival there were even treats for her. Everything was thought of. More though, everything was of the best quality. The hosts, amazing. The were son unobtrusive and on the couple of times when i did speak to them, they were helpful and really, really pleasant. Could not recommend this accommodation enough.

A lovely home, with all the facilities you could think of.
This holiday property has been furnished with the utmost care and consideration. Every small detail has been thought of, even the comfort of your pets, we would thoroughly recommend this property as a holiday destination and have every intention of going back.

A lovely long weekend with friends in the country. The property was extremely wellfinished throughout and fully equipped with everything you could need. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub, log burner in the living room and the cosy reading area in the mezzanine above the whole property was very cosy and the hosts very communicative and helpful with recommendations.
An excellent venue for a winter break for 3 generations of our family. Lovely and cosy inside with underfloor heating individual thermostats to each room. Lots of natural light. We were blessed with some remarkable weather for February and didn't expect to be sunbathing in the courtyard by the fishpond and fountain very relaxing for everyone. The layout enables plenty of space for everyone to get together but also to get away to a quiet space, both indoors and outdoors. The hot tub was well used by some of us. Don't expect huge amounts of tourist attractions very close by, but that's part of it's charm, I can see why many people might barely leave the accommodation during the stay it's so comfortable.
Elaine
Beautiful property that clearly has had a lot of thought and attention to detail from the owners. Tastefully decorated throughout with quality furnishings, linen and crockery. Loved being in the middle of nowhere and being able to relax in the hot tub looking over the stunning garden. Very welcoming owners where nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend.
Judith
Very comfortable and well appointed. We were made to feel very welcome by owners.

My friends & I go away every year and we all agreed this was the best cottage to date. The house is beautiful and ticks all our key cottage boxes hot tub huge, real fire, close to country pubs a short drive country walks & ample sofas the amount of places that dont have enough sofas for the number of people they sleep is madness. Its also dog friendly, theres multiple bathroomstoilets, even a mini garden with a beautiful fish pond great for a morning coffee in addition to the main. Its quiet and we slept like logs. The main garden was also great for star gazing given little light pollution in the area also great from the hot tub with a glass of fizz. Parking was also great as we have 4 cars which all easily fit on the guest drive. Whilst slightly tricky to find, once there its easy. The owners Michelle & Stephen are lovely and were quick to respond when we had a query, they couldnt be any more helpful, plus provided welcome fizz & milk. We loved our weekend and have discussed returning, it was perfect.
It's a fantastic cottage with everything you could possibly need. The owners are really welcoming and are more than happy to give you info on the best locations to visit during your stay. The cottage is very tranquil and if you looking for a relaxing holiday home away from home this is defiantly the place... you won't be disappointed... the hot tub is defiantly a added bonus that we enjoyed daily! The location is perfect.. very peacefully and if your bringing your furry friend they won't be disappointed either as lots of walks close by!! Would highly recommend going to the Broads which was only about an hours drive at tops. If you looking for a holiday in a private, quite location we would highly recommend.
Perfect stay for all our needs, one with mobility problems and dog friendly. We were able to use a wheelchair inside and out as accommodation was spacious. Kitchen well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Huge dining room table easy for wheel chair use. Enclosed garden with comfortable garden furniture. Morning sunshine for breakfast outside. Hot tub looked inviting but unfortunately didnt get chance to use. Owners couldnt do enough for us. They were delightful. Perfect .
This place is absolutely stunning. We loved the property and would happily live there. We travelled with 2 kids and 2 dogs and noone wanted to leave the property whilst we were there. The barn is beautifully done out and lots of extra touches to make you feel at home. Loads of space, far bigger than it looks on the photos. Great place for a relaxing break away. The owners are lovely and couldn't do more for you. We were sad to leave and can't wait to go back.
We booked this property at the last minute and somewhat spontaneously when my wife found it. It looked fantastic in the pictures and was even better in the flesh. Although it may not look large from the outside it is very extensive and has some really nice features. There were only three of us and the dog most of the time although the inlaws came for a few days too. There is plenty of space and rooms for everyone to have a bit of private time or to come together as you want. It is equipped with everything you may need and the owners couldn't be nicer or more accommodating. Personally I loved the courtyard for a spot of afternoon reading whilst watch the fish, but be warned it is a sun trap ! Our son loved the hot tub, which was lovely and big enough for all of us without feeling like we were sitting on top of each other who needs a pool when you just want to relx in the water ? I cannot recommend the property enough, it is immaculate, tastefully furnished and immensely welcoming you felt at home and comfortable as you walk through the door....I miss the courtyard already and we only left this morning !
Awesome property, great location, would highly recommend.
A lovely barn conversion providing us the Perfect family retreat. Will definitely go back

Banham Zoo - NR16 2HE
about 4 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
Melsop Farm Park - NR20 3DT
about 9 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
Dinosaur Adventure Park - NR9 5JW
about 15 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
Bewilderwood - NR12 8JW
about 20 Miles
Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
Suffolk Owl Sanctuary - IP28 6HX
about 20 Miles
This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
Africa Alive - NR33 7TF
about 24 Miles
Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park - NR32 4TZ
about 25 Miles
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed.  The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.
Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens - NR21 0LN
about 25 Miles
if you and your family are interested in nature and wildlife then Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens is the perfect place for a day out. This beautiful area of national parkland is home to a huge range of common and rare birds from sparrows to Red Crowned Cranes and also has a red squirrel enclosure - part of a conservation programme and now home to a family of adorable squirrels. Other activities to enjoy at Pensthorpe include pond dipping and Landrover discovery tours. Pensthorpe also played host to BBC'S Springwatch in 2010.
