High House Reviews

We rented the house for my 50th birthday celebrations 12 of us! Just incredible! Exactly what we wantedneeded and more! Immaculate house, stunning interior, lots of space, incredible amount of kitchen equipment, clean and tidy and the perfect setting for a long weekend. All towels and bedding provided. Great location, no neighbours and close to the coast! Would highly recommend and hope to return one day.

This holiday cottage has been our best stay yet, as a group we have been going away in the half term week for 8 years. The location was amazing not far from cromer beach and other places for the kids. Facilities and Space where excellent. Lots of space in all rooms. Huge garden area. The games room and hot tub was an added bonus. Along with the outdoor chairs and large fire pit which was ace for bonfire night and marshmellows. We have a made some memories that ourselves and kiddies will remember for a lifetime. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. I could go on... we will definately recommend.
We booked High House to celebrate my best friends hen weekend, and it was absolutely perfect! So comfortable and so clean, and it came with everything you needed to cook for yourself. We loved the dishwasher, as it made it super easy to clean up after ourselves without too much hassle. The hot tub was a big hit with the girls, it was much needed on one of the hottest weekends of the year! The interior decor is beautiful and the frontback outside areas are gorgeous. The house is also only a 10 minute drive away from Cromer beach! I honestly couldnt recommend it enough! Thank you for a lovely weekend.
The house was great. Lovely and clean on arrival. The facilities were great and worked well for our family holiday, there were 12 of us. The table tennis and pool tables were a big hit with everyone. Its a great location to explore the surrounding area. Would definitely stay again at High House.

Fantastic house for our family of 6 adults and 4 children. Everything we needed in the house cooking equipment, crockery cutlery and tools. Toy and games room a massive hit and a chill out in the hot tub. The house was so popular it is definitely a return. Ideally placed for country and beach walks with the dogs and children and a sneaky escape to the Vernon and Gunton for a beer. 11 out of 10

Amazing stay here. Terrific house. Perfect setup for our families and dogs. Xmas tree was a lovely touch and surprise. House laid out really well, especially for the hot tub and close access to laundry roomtowelswc etc. Fun having the games room. Easy to use thermostatwifiSkyTv. Helpful advice from owners. Great setting, short drive to amenitiespubsCromer. Can't fault it. Sad to be home.
We had such an amazing time. Beautiful house, such character and charm. The views were wonderful. The rooms were all amazing and clean and roomy and gorgeous. Clean and tidy and beautiful. We all had such a fantastic time. We hope and want to return next year and maybe for a bit longer if youll have us. Next time we will hope to do a BBQ too.

Positives Overall, beautiful house and locationsetting. Lots of space for a large family gettogethers. Ample supplies of crockery, cutlery and cooking implementsovenware. Crisp clean and comfortable bedding. Clean toilets and shower facilities. Negatives Virtually insecure door in the sunroom that leads to the jacuzzi, locks at top and bottom are coming away from the wood. Dart board disintegrating, with only two complete darts. Lots of holes, not only on the wall around the dart board, but also on the adjacent door. Bare cloth on the pool table. Toilet roll holder in top floor ensuite bathroom, fell off the wall. Foul sewage smell from the first floor main bedrooms ensuite had to keep the windows open at all times and the door to the bedroom shut. The bedding was clean and maybe a hoover was ran round the house by the cleaners prior to arrival, but the wooden and tiled floors were filthy. One person wore white socks around the house on the first day, which were black by the evening. We also needed to wipe down the dining room table and all the placemats before use.

Attractions Near High House

While there'll be plenty to keep you entertained an High House itself, if you plan to get out and about and see some of what Norfolk has to offer, here are some of the nearby attractions you can enjoy during your stay. Please note that some of these activities and days out are paid and it's always a good idea to book in advance to secure your place where applicable.

Found a special day out near your cottage? Please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too!
Sheringham Park - NR26 8TL
about 6 Miles
The National Trust Sheringham Park in Norfolk was designed by Humphry Repton and the book of original designs can still be seen. The park has many attractions including a viewing tower and a gazebo with amazing coastal views, wildlife trails which young children will love and an exhibition barn where visitors can learn the history of the park.
Bewilderwood - NR12 8JW
about 13 Miles
Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
Bishops Boats Seal Trips - NR23 1RY
about 13 Miles
This is a really unique attraction running daily seal watching trips from the middle of March right through to the end of October.  The experienced skippers will lead you out on one of the traditional wooden boats where you will have the chance to see both common and grey seals.  If you love animals then this is one attraction not to be missed! They also do some boat trips combined with guides on dry land such as seal watching combined with a visit to Blakeney Point Nature Reserve, owned by the National Trust.  We think this attraction is excellent value for money as they keep their admission prices low.
Dinosaur Adventure Park - NR9 5JW
about 14 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens - NR21 0LN
about 18 Miles
if you and your family are interested in nature and wildlife then Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens is the perfect place for a day out. This beautiful area of national parkland is home to a huge range of common and rare birds from sparrows to Red Crowned Cranes and also has a red squirrel enclosure - part of a conservation programme and now home to a family of adorable squirrels. Other activities to enjoy at Pensthorpe include pond dipping and Landrover discovery tours. Pensthorpe also played host to BBC'S Springwatch in 2010.
Melsop Farm Park - NR20 3DT
about 27 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
