Lakeside View Reviews

Great stay over Christmas, we would love to stay again during the Summer to use the lake
Carole
Lovely lodge overlooking a large lake. Very peaceful to stay, the lodge and hot tub made the stay more inviting. Not a great deal on the site, but lovely countryside walks around the area. Ideal to visit the many places in North Norfolk. Probably a lot busier in the Summer when there is water ski ing on the adjacent lake. Although their facilities look old and worn. A nice club house, although small felt a bit like an old cricket club. They did have a singer on the Saturday night but we did not attend even though we could hear in the distance but it was not a problem. Would recommend to someone who wants a nice quiet break and to be in that area to visit Norfolk. Fishing is on site but you have to walk around to another lake. Nice approachable owners.

Lovely stay . . had everything u could think of. Hot tub was lovely. Very peaceful and relaxing break !!!
We were a family of 6 had the best stay, it had everything you could need and more. Hot tub was perfect and the people on the site were so friendly. Would go back.

We loved staying there its exactly what we wanted and needed! Emma is lovely lady and very friendly ! Thank you for this x
Lovely peaceful setting. Friendly owner who corrected a fault very quickly when informed.
We had a lovely time, thank you and the addition of the hot tub made it even more relaxing. Lovely clean, comfortable and wellequipped holiday home, with a lovely welcome visit from the owner at the beginning of our week, to answer any queriesshow us how to use the hot tub. Nice friendly bar on site and good to see a few people out enjoying water skiingkayaking on the lake, which is just feet from the front patiodeck area.
Had a really good few days here, perfect for our reason for visiting this part of Norfolk to visit relations and a bit of site seeing. Emma was all you would expect from a holiday home owner there when needed but left to enjoy perfect. Thank you Emma.
The property had ants, even on the work surfaces, and the owner admitted she had put ant powder on the work surfaces. Ants on food preparation surfaces? Absolutely not acceptable. Needless to say, although booked for 3 nights, we did not stay at all but came straight home. The owner refuses to give any compensation and Sykes have been no help at all, even having the cheek to offer us 40 off a future booking. We shall not be taking this up.
The host was charming. Peaceful and tranquil location. Very comfortable, clean and well equipped lodge.
We had a perfect break. Our accommodation was pristine, everything was provided, bed very comfy, a real home from home. The hot tub was a wonderful addition, very much needed after a busy day. The location was beautiful, with fab lake views and very quiet. We really could not fault anything! Thank you so much.
Lesley
We had a wonderful stay, in luxurious accommodation. We were lucky enough to see a shooting star through the roof window in the property. We found it perfectly suited to our needs.

This was a lovely place to stay right on the lake. It is peaceful and tranquil off the beaten track but within easy reach of Kings Lynn and a bit further afield places such as Hunstanton, Wellsbythesea etc. This property is near the entrance gate but not at all noisy. We used this as a base to visit family so didnt venture further into the site so cant comment on any of the facilities mentioned. The owner was really friendly and helpful and the property is tastefully furnished with everything you need. There was plenty of crockery, utensils, cleaning materials, and a nice clean cooker and microwave. Plenty of bedding and towels and a full length mirror in the main bedroom something often sadly lacking in a lot of the properties we have previously stayed in. There is an internet TV and DVD player too. Id suggest bringing a few essentials food and drinkwise as there isnt a shop close by at least not that we found. We would definitely return!
Very pleasant 4 day break in this well presented chaletlodge . Very clean lovely bedding and plenty of towels. Cleaning materials provided Directions to property needs updating no access from main Pentney lakes entrance on common rd need to carry on down rd take a left turn into Abbey rd and follow signs to water ski lake and go in where it says Abbey close .Property first on left.

Wonderful owners had a great stey

Best ever cottage holiday experience we have had.
Philip
Great location. lovely and peaceful even with the water skiers. It was a very nice site with a lot of friendly people. The only problem we found was the size of the bed. With being disabled we both found it to low and to small . but apart from that every thing was perfect. to sit on the balcony with the sun shining was just perfect.
Theresa
The area has a lot to see and do. The lodge itself was very clean and comfortable. The owner was lovely, very helpful and friendly. We would definitely return and recommend to others.

Attractions Near Lakeside View

While there'll be plenty to keep you entertained an Lakeside View itself, if you plan to get out and about and see some of what Norfolk has to offer, here are some of the nearby attractions you can enjoy during your stay. Please note that some of these activities and days out are paid and it's always a good idea to book in advance to secure your place where applicable.

Found a special day out near your cottage? Please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too!
Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens - NR21 0LN
about 18 Miles
if you and your family are interested in nature and wildlife then Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens is the perfect place for a day out. This beautiful area of national parkland is home to a huge range of common and rare birds from sparrows to Red Crowned Cranes and also has a red squirrel enclosure - part of a conservation programme and now home to a family of adorable squirrels. Other activities to enjoy at Pensthorpe include pond dipping and Landrover discovery tours. Pensthorpe also played host to BBC'S Springwatch in 2010.
Melsop Farm Park - NR20 3DT
about 19 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
Dinosaur Adventure Park - NR9 5JW
about 25 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
Banham Zoo - NR16 2HE
about 27 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
Bishops Boats Seal Trips - NR23 1RY
about 27 Miles
This is a really unique attraction running daily seal watching trips from the middle of March right through to the end of October.  The experienced skippers will lead you out on one of the traditional wooden boats where you will have the chance to see both common and grey seals.  If you love animals then this is one attraction not to be missed! They also do some boat trips combined with guides on dry land such as seal watching combined with a visit to Blakeney Point Nature Reserve, owned by the National Trust.  We think this attraction is excellent value for money as they keep their admission prices low.
