Red Brick retreat is a very well appointed, cozy, comfortable, well positioned place to stay. Dark skies provided great views of the stars at night. Mike and Julie are very welcoming and helpful, provided a generous welcome package that was much appreciated and who doesnt love a hot tub. We really enjoyed our time there.

Mike and Julie really looked after us and the house was perfectly set up. Every detail was well though out and made it a home from home.
We stayed for 3 nights. Every detail was well thought out right down to a reserved parking space. We loved our stay from start to finish and could not fault it. The hot tub was definitely a highlight and the welcome pack of goodies was delicious. Julie and Mike were brilliant! We would have no hesitation recommending!
My wife and I throughly enjoyed our stay. The welcome we received from Mike & Julie made us feel at home immediately. A thorough tour of the property was given to us along with detailed explanations of the main facilities. The owners were always happy to help whenever needed. A five star cottage , strongly recommended.
Lovely property hosted by two excellent owners. Hot tub a real treat!

What a fantastic find this place was, we were not disappointed and spent a wonderful weekend just relaxing in this excellently renovated building and most importantly the hot tub which was beyond all expectations, Mike and Julie were very welcoming and the hosts of hosts with their exceptional eye for detail and such a lovely thought out welcome pack on arrival. I would give more than 5 stars and would recommend to family and friends and most definitely be returning later in the year. Thank you Mike and Julie it was such a pleasure. Debbie and Andrew.
My partner and I had a lovely break at the red brick retreat! I would recommend 1000 times. Mike and Julie showed us around the beautiful property and made us feel very welcome with some lovely cakes, Prosecco and other goodies. It was a very relaxing retreat and the hot tub was amazing! I will definitely be booking to stay again. Lots of local shops! The only downside is the chickens on site did wake us up a few times in the early hours. Overall I highly recommend!

Perfect little getaway. Really relaxing area and the hosts were amazing. Welcome package on arrival added that extra touch. Such a peaceful few nights away!
An absolutely perfect property to unwind and relax in, with attention to detail here being 5. Hot tub was tested daily and was spotlessly clean every day, as was the property when we arrived. Beautiful welcome pack to include the essentials needed for your immediate needs along with a lovely home made cake. The hosts were wonderful and friendly, but did not encroach on your privacy at all. Cant wait to return later this year. Thank you
Lovely hosts, welcome package was amazing, everything in accommodation was excellent quality. Would highly recommend
Kenrick

The property was excellent , clean ,well equipped , everything was provided that you would need for you stay , the welcome pack was the best we have ever had . The hot tub was super , well maintained spotlessly clean .
The retreat was very well equipped with all mod cons , lovely welcome pack , incl fresh eggs from their free range chickens ,very friendly and attentive owners if needed , hot tub lovely for a relax . All adds up to a relaxing break
Red Brick Retreat is an outstanding cottage where the hosts Mike and Julie made us feel extremely welcome. The location coupled with the accommodation made our short stay most enjoyable. The cottage itself has everything you would want with the added bonus of a private Hot tub. This was only our second stay at a Sykes Cottage but I can assure the reader my wife and I will be using Sykescottages again.
Lizzie
The place was absolutely spotless and you can see the care put into it. ALL the little details really made it, such as, cake, eggs, butter, milk ect there waiting for us, robes, plenty of towels, skimmer for hottub and more. We were welcomed with a friendly Mike who wasn't in a rush to show us around and make sure we were happy with everything. Even though Mike and Julie's property, along with a neighbours, was just behind us, you completely forgot they were there as you rarely saw anyone and had complete privacy in the back gardenhottub where you are encased in your own little sanctuary with all mod cons. The cleanliness was top notch, even the hottub looked like it was brand new and wasn't overfilled with chemicals. If you are after a couples getaway, this is definitely the place to go. Thank you so much
Amazing place to stay. Lovely friendly owners. Beautiful property with so much attention to detail. Perfect place for a mini break. Loved it.
Hayley
The perfect retreat. The owners have thought of everything for guests comfort. A great location to explore the surrounding areas. Would highly recommend this property and we hope to return very soon
Caitlin
We were welcomed from the moment we arrived and given a tour of the property which was helpful. The owners gave us little welcome bits like wine, Prosecco, homemade cakes, bread, eggs, milk etc. The property was perfectly clean throughout and was modernised which was a surprise. The only issues were that because the property is new, there were some maintenance issues.
Danielle
Honestly had an amazing weekend! Was an absolutely beautiful place to stay! The hosts were so welcoming!
Hosts were excellent cottage was perfect in every way ,recommend to anyone would use again. Thanks for lovely stay.
Really beautiful location and sweet and cozy house. Mike and Julie couldnt of been nicer to both of us and went above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Would recommend this retreat to anyone

Banham Zoo - NR16 2HE
about 7 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
Suffolk Owl Sanctuary - IP28 6HX
about 11 Miles
This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
Melsop Farm Park - NR20 3DT
about 16 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
Ickworth House, Park & Gardens - IP29 5QE
about 20 Miles
The National Trust Ickworth House, Park & Gardens is a Beautiful 1800 acre country estate with many attractions including a fantastic adventure playground for the children and a range of nature trails which the whole family will enjoy. The site also has a family friendly cycle route a gift shop and a small café
Dinosaur Adventure Park - NR9 5JW
about 24 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
Africa Alive - NR33 7TF
about 26 Miles
Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park - NR32 4TZ
about 28 Miles
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed.  The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.
Bewilderwood - NR12 8JW
about 28 Miles
Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
