Holly Tree Cottage Dunwich Reviews

Andrew
Overall the property was described, the restaurant/bar was great and the staff we met were really attentive and always looked to do a good job. Please dont expect phone signal so you will need to have WiFi enable calls for anything to work. This could be a good or bad thing depending how addicted to technology you are. :)
Ferne
Lovely location on the beach, great value for money, Pub/Restaurant food was great and had a good atmosphere. Photos don't do it justice. Enjoyed the hot tub and enclosed garden for my dog. We will be back.
Joanna
Wonderful quiet location. The cottage was warm and very comfortable. Plenty of cooking equipment and a lovely set up. As it's quite remote you got a beautiful view of the stars at night from the hot tub.
Belinda
Great cottage, already booked again.
Diane
The cottage was clean and comfortable- the beds were wonderful. But the cottage seems to be placed almost in the car park which could be noisy. Dustmen, ale deliveries etc started at 6.45 in the morning so was very disturbing. Fork lift truck started at 6.30 outside bedroom window. But the hot tub is amazing, fully checked by staff twice a day. BeaRead morech on doorstep. Restaurant always booked so be aware. We never got in there. Cottage could be more homely with a few tweaks but was comfy and clean. Hide

Parasol broken on arrival Second key did not work Otherwise excellent with small touches such as dishwasher tablets appreciated
Libbi
A great cottage with lots of good features but in a really quiet location. Apart from a tea room about a km away there was nothing in walking distance.
Julie
A well equipped cottage in an excellent position close to the beach and Dunwich Heath. Lots of walks from the site without having to use the car all the time. Really enjoyed the hot tub and the large garden was excellent for our two dogs. There is a small shop on site which is useful. We used the bar and restaurant on a couple of occasions. On the one occasion that we ate there the food was good. Would definitely recommend Holly Tree Cottage to friends and family and hope to visit again soon.
Lynne
Excellent cottage and location. Small problems attended to immediately. Very good care of hot tub with frequent checks. I'm sure we will be back. Thank you.
Christopher

Conrad
Excellent accommodation with lots of space. Really good option if you want to be close to the beach with a hottub and an enclosed garden. Note there is no Wi-Fi and very limited mobile coverage.
Sharon
Lovely site and lovely accommodation highly recommended
Joanne
The cottage is lovely, very clean and well positioned on the camp site. Though it does sit next to the car park it didn't have a negative effect on our stay at all. If you like lay ins you may find you get woken by people coming and going. The hot tub and garden was amazing, rabbits in the garden was nice to see. We took our two dogs and the garden was secure so we could let them run around without worry. Would definitely recommend
Emily

Rebekah
Amazing location and comfortable cottage to stay in. Good size garden for the dogs.
Hayley
We had a lovely stay, thank you! The cottage was clean/spacious, perfect for our party of 4 + 2 dogs. The location was gorgeous, very close to the beautiful beach and the onsite restaurant/bar was fantastic. The food was delicious and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The playground had plenty for the kids to enjoy and we loved the hot tub . Highly recommend this place. We'd suggest taking slippers as the stone floor was cold on toes and lack of WIFI in cottage was a bit limiting!
Julia
Cottage was spotlessly clean, some issues, no Wi-Fi, and poor phone signal. Site staff were lovely, incredibly dog friendly place, restaurant served delicious food

Africa Alive - NR33 7TF

Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park - NR32 4TZ
about 17 Miles
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed.  The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.
Suffolk Owl Sanctuary - IP28 6HX
about 21 Miles
This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
Banham Zoo - NR16 2HE
about 28 Miles
This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
