If you can tear yourself away from your dwelling, visit Hackwood Farm, as part of a lovely circular walk around the hamlet, to enjoy the wonderful bistro serving delicious, breakfast, brunch, lunches and evening meals. Also visit Kirk Langley, a neighbouring village which is a short walk across the fields, to enjoy a drink or meal at popular pub, the Bluebell Inn.

The farm offers ease of access to many footpaths to numerous beautiful villages. There is The Cow at Dalbury Lees, with their award-winning restaurant and The Horseshoes, Long Lane, which are both a longer walk or short drive away.

The property is on the edge of the market town of Ashbourne, which hosts a variety of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants to fuel your day of excursions. Within easy reach is the unique landscape of the Peak District National Park, Carsington Water, for a peaceful stroll or visit to the water sports centre and the Stepping Stones at Dovedale and the Tissington Trail for a bike ride.

There are the charming towns of Matlock and Bakewell for a day out and Chatsworth House for a step back in time. Visit the nearby National Trust property, Kedleston Hall, get dressed up to visit the nearby town of Uttoxeter with its popular racecourse, or embark on a thrill-seeking visit to Alton Towers.

Thank you for the welcome treats and the present left on Christmas morning, that was very kind. Would highly recommend as a place to get away from it all. Lovely country walks on the doorstep. This is an all weather attraction located in Ilkeston Derbyshire. With a large play frame as well as bikes and ride on toys this is a fun place for young children. The toddler time sessions take place during term times on week days from 9.30am until 2.30pm and are very popular. The admission fee is excellent value for money and parents can sit down and enjoy a drink while the children play. A new baby changing facility has now been installed together with some new chairs making this a clean and welcoming attraction for families. This unique attraction combines an array of activities. If you have a look on their website there are some good video clips which give an even better idea of what this attraction is all about. Some of the highlights include the Cable Car system which is actually Britain's first alpine style cable car system. You are transported from the valley floor right up above where you can enjoy superb Dewent Valley Views. You can also stroll around 60 acres of wooded hillside on foot to see an array of birds and wildlife.

Conkers - DE12 6GA

Conkers is an award winning attraction located in the midst of the National Forest. Combining both indoor and outdoor activities this is an all weather attraction in the Peak District. It's really easy to get to as well, just 5 miles from Junction 11 off the M42. Designed for all ages some of the highlights include the Enchanted Forest Adventure play area and a simulated Tree Top walk. The site is rather unique and features a huge array of rides including log flumes, roller coasters and pirate ships. British Wildlife Rescue Centre - TN8 7AR

This is a really unique opportunity to see the fantastic work going on at this centre. The purpose of the British Wildlife Rescue Centre is to treat and care for injured wildlife which cannot be released into the wild. Many of the animals are brought to the centre by members of the public or the RSPCA.
