Ivy House Reviews

Suzanne
Great house spacious, warm, quiet location and within easy walking distance of Buxton Centre. Well equipped and also with basic food essentials on arrival which were much appreciated. Lovely big kitchen diner for cooking, chatting and being together plus enough space for everyone to spread out. Hot tub was all ready for us on arrival! Loved it!
Ivy House was an ideal place to stay for our holiday from overseas. With young children, its often the small things which help, so providing plastic bowls and beakers, as well as some toys and games etc was great. Proximity to the Buxton gardens, pavilion and playgrounds was so convenient as less than 10 minutes along the Serpentine Walk. The house was clean and well presented, as per photos. Children didnt get to use the back garden much due to weather however would be lovely in summer, as would terrace. Properly is highly recommended and wed stay again.

Heights of Abraham - DE4 3PT

This unique attraction combines an array of activities.  If you have a look on their website there are some good video clips which give an even better idea of what this attraction is all about.  Some of the highlights include the Cable Car system which is actually Britain's first alpine style cable car system.  You are transported from the valley floor right up above where you can enjoy superb Dewent Valley Views.  You can also stroll around 60 acres of wooded hillside on foot to see an array of birds and wildlife.

This is a really unique opportunity to see the fantastic work going on at this centre.  The purpose of the British Wildlife Rescue Centre is to treat and care for injured wildlife which cannot be released into the wild.  Many of the animals are brought to the centre by members of the public or the RSPCA.  Visit their website to see the picture gallery and to find out how to help if this is something which interests you.  There are also regular fundraising events such as the Sponsered Leg Wax.
