Where do we begin! We have totally fallen for this beautifully renovated cottage and its utterly idyllic location. The owners could not be more helpful or friendly and the welcome hamper, and additional free range eggs were such a lovely addition to our stay. We went away for a girly weekend to relax and its ticked all the boxes, luxury, comfort and relaxation, From the cosy log burner, to the lovely hot tub with stunning views. Amazing local shop and nice traditional pub with food, both near to each and other within a 5-10 minute walk. This is a fabulous well equipped cottage, especially for a walking holiday. We could walk from the door every day and there was a great utility room for the days when we had wet outdoor clothes. Great local owners at the farm next door. Good local shop and old fashioned pub.

New for 2010 is the Badgers quest interactive maze. Outside there is a play area, large boating lake with paddle boats, nature trails with clues and quizzes and an agility course. Queenswood Country Park has a stunning location offering panoramic views of the countryside. The area is abundant with wildlife and you can see how many species you can spot while enjoying the nature trails. The park also has a large children play area and a licensed café. Seasonal activities can be enjoyed during school holidays and at peak times of the year including Halloween events and crafting sessions as well as ranger led walks.

Puzzlewood - GL16 8QB

about 20 Miles

Puzzlewood is a somewhat unique attraction within the beautiful Forest of Dean. Visitors can explore the mile of pathways passing over wooden bridges and through some stunning tree and rock formations. The maze of pathways are quite enchanting and the site has recently been used as a location for the BBC1 production of Merlin. While enjoying the splendour of nature there are many types of wildlife to meet along the way including Shetland ponies, Donkeys and Highland Cattle. A Hocus Pokus Halloween event takes place from the 24th to the 31st of October.

Rhondda Heritage Park - CF37 2NP

Rhondda Heritage Park is located at the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery and is a popular attraction with a range of facilities including a visitor centre, an art gallery, a gift shop, and a lovely period re-constructed Village Street.
