Hoobrook Cottage Reviews

Absolutely fantastic stay. A beautiful, well equipped cottage in a stunning location. Excellent communication with the hosts who configured the rooms how we requested for our party of 6. The covered hot tub was spacious for 6 ladies, secluded and stayed warm. The local pub was very friendly and an easy walk from the cottage. A great get away, lovely walks and evenings by the fire.
Owner left us a lovely hamper which was very kind of them. We stayed for New Year and attended the local pub NYE party Black Lion, we were made so welcome. Would definitely come again. Thank you
Matthew
Lovely cottage in a beautiful surrounding, nice and secluded, cottage was very ... Lovely cottage in a beautiful surrounding, nice and secluded, cottage was very clean and well maintained, was treated to a great little hamper on arrival which was a nice touch, would definitely recommend and hope to return again one day 5
I loved this cottage. It was just perfect for us. It was exceptionally clean and very well fitted out. The beds were really comfortable, bath facilities were excellent. The sofas were very comfortable. Kitchen was very well stocked. Wonderful hamper on arrival. Beautiful countryside and so quiet. Ruth is wonderfully helpful, nothing is too much trouble. It was a delight to stay there. Hot tub while snowing, that was an experience. I highly recommend this property and will definitely be returning.
Brilliant Any info required plus extra was available to us in the welcome pack. The property itself was quaint and very clean Facilities top notch
Excellent property, and response from the owners when needed.
Had a super stay at Hoobrook Cottage ! From the generous welcome hamper to providing housecoats and everything that you need in the home. My daughters loved the hot tub ... Lovely part of the world to visit..Thanks again to the sisters for giving us a fab break.
What a wonderful cottage in a wonderful place, has everything you need for a great weekend, good walking, local pub great, and the cottage with the log burning fire, hot tub and small creature comforts was the icing on the cake. Highly recommend this, we went 6 adults and 2 dogs and had an amazing time
Yvonne
Second visit. Wonderful cottage, spotlessly clean, well furnished. Owners have thought of everything. Hot tub is amazing, so relaxing to sit and watch the birds come to the bird table right next to the hot tub owners leave bird food, binoculars and a book on birds, even had a cow wander down to brink from the brook every day. Such a quiet location but easy to get to off the main road. Black Lion pub within walking distance but menu not to our liking. Drove into Hartington every day as two lovely places for breakfast. Nothing to fault about Cottage at all. Highly recommend.
Bradley
Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. We will be booking again for sure!
Trevor
Most fantastic place, great welcome basket, very clean with all supplies for holiday. The area is amazing place to explore with families and your fur babies. The owners really love the cottage and it shows in every way. Cant wait to return back
A lovely cosy cottage in a beautiful setting. Fantastic walking straight from the cottage and the hot tub was a real treat at the end of a long hike.
The property was absolutely lovely wonderfully clean and extremely wellequipped with everything that we needed, a true little home from home.
What a wonderful week spent at Holbrook cottage. It really is in the best location for exploring the Peak District. The cottage itself was amazing, so cosy of an evening with the lovely log fire, we loved playing games in the living room after a day exploring. The babbling stream outside was so lovely and the hot tub was a huge hit with our teenage children after long walks exploring in the day. The owners could not have been any more helpful and the welcome hamper was brilliant, us adults loved the wine and our dog loved his treats as well. We will definitely return, thank you so much for such a brilliant stay.
Great cottage. Lovely area just wish we had had longer.
Hoobrook Cottage is a delight. A little piece of paradise in a tranquil setting. The lovely cottage is very clean and tidy, very well equipt and a credit to the owners. Hope to return in the future. Only minor thing we misseda rotary line to effectively dry towels and robes. Hoobrook is a perfect holiday get away.
Yvonne
A lovely place to stay. Peaceful and relaxing which is exactly what we all needed. A lovely hamper was waiting for us on arrival which was a lovely surprise. Beautiful stunning location. Would definitely recommend.
This was booked for a significant personal event, so it was important that the stay met expectations. The cottage was delightful, being very well equipped but also furnished and decorated to a high standard, making it feel like one was staying at a friend's house rather than in a commercial let. The cottage is ideally located for a range of excursions locally, but there's also enough to do and see within walking distance so no need to drive if you don't feel like it. Overall a really enjoyable few days and highly recommended.

The cottage was simply stunning, it had everything we needed to enjoy a comfortable weeks stay and the location was brilliant as we travelled to Bakewell, and we went to the wildlife park and enjoyed some beautiful walks. The hot tub was great to enjoy after a long days walkinghiking. Me and my friends would definitely stay here again, the owners were simply the best and the welcome basket was such a lovely touch!
Deborah
What a find. The perfect holiday cottage experience from start to finish. From location, to facilities and comfort, to the prearrival comms and welcome pack on arrival. Fab
Fabulous cottage. Well appointed and sparkling clean. Comfortable beds, with nice bedding. A superb welcome hamper, which exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed the village location and the pretty stream in the well maintained garden. The hot tub was a great addition. A lovely welcoming home from home
Beautiful clean property with everything provided that you could ever need including robes for the hot tub! Would definitely come backwe loved it!
Another amazing few days away in Hoobrook Cottage. Location is just perfect being in a walking route, although the weather was a little wet it certainly didnt stop us enjoying ourselves. The open fire and hot tub were just what was needed after wet and muddy walks. The welcome hamper is a lovely gesture but really doesnt make the stay that little bit extra special. Will definitely be returning.
Olivia
A wonderful stay in a stunning property. So many lovely personal touches. Thank you Kate and Ruth!
Patrick
Simply Outstanding. 10 out of 10 all round. Beautiful cottage. Perfect location enabling you to explore the beautiful Peak District. Peace and quite surroundings and a very much appreciated welcoming hamper. Hot tub was perfect for those end of day walks. My dogs loved it aswell. Highly recommended. Hoping to be back soon.

Hoo Brook Cottage was me and my partner's second holiday together, and we truly felt at home. We had to switch bedrooms as we're on the taller side but we were immensely comfy regardless. The hot tub was much needed after our days out, and the sound of the brook babbling by was the icing on the cake!
Lindsay
I stayed at Hoobrook Cottage with some friends for a weekend break for my birthday. The cottage was so lovely, I was gutted we were only there a weekend! The location is so peaceful and quiet, we loved the hot tub and the log burner inside. The welcome hamper was amazing too! Would definitely recommend and would love to stay again.
Richard
Fab fab fab. Loved the cottage. Cosy and comfy and a nice garden with an under cover hot tub. Best welcome pack ever! Food for the birds also included. Cottage was so good we've booked it again for next year.
Absolutely stunning . Everything is thought of to provide you with the perfect stay. The most wonderful welcome pack greets you on arrival . Then theres so much information on things to do in the area . Board games, some DVDs and jigsaws are provided. Beds are just wonderful. The bathroom has a beautiful roll top bath and the waterfall shower is lovely . Theres cosy robes provided for you to relax in and a Log fire to chill in front of . Hot tub is perfect and you can watch the birds feeding from the bird table from it . The kitchen has everything you could possibly need but if you are feeling lazy the pub two minutes walk away has a fantastic menu. Quite simply perfect
Samantha
We had a wonderful time staying at Hoobrook Cottage. The cottage was comfortable and clean and stocked with all of the essentials and then some was pleasantly surprised to find cling and foil in the kitchen. Very well set up and had the added touch of a lovely welcome hamper which was a nice surprise. The hot tub was lovely and we appreciated the towel hooks and bar to put our drinks on. Directions to the cottage were spot on and necessary as Butterton is a bit of a signal blackhole so it was very useful to have been warned in advance about that. Would happily stay here again
Excellent property
Thank you for an amazing winter break at Hoobrook cottage. It was all I wanted and more. The welcome hamper was exceptional and the cottage was a real home from home. The hot tub was fantastic after a day out walking and on a frosty evening with snow on the ground. I felt so relaxed!
Lindsay
This cottage was amazing for our little New Year break. Its got everything & more for your stay there. The hot tub was brilliant, the hamper was much appreciated & the whole cottage was so comfy & cosy. My family & 2 dogs throughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you.
Sharon
Fabulous cottage, we had a lovely stay. Thank you so much for the welcome hamper as well. Highly recommend
A lovely, well equipped cottage in a beautiful village. Hot tub excellent. So was local pub. And the owners were lovely including Henry.
Caroline
The cottage is perfect. We will defo be re booking. Everything we needed for a great break. The hamper was especially lovely very much appreciated. Thank you
Lovely cottage, characterful but also well appointed. The owners have put a lot of thought into making the experience welcoming, with lots of information, a hamper, firewood and blankets. Dog bed, blanket, bowl and treats were also much appreciated! We only had a short weekend, but the location also seemed spot on for exploring the Peak District. The village pub does the most amazing food.
Judith
We had a fantastic holiday. The cottage was superb and had everything we could possibly need. The welcome hamper was so generous. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage.
Yvonne
We had a fantastic week at Hoobrook Cottage. The cottage is lovely, nothing could be improved. Does really feel like the owners have thought of everything. Amazing welcome hamper, never had anything like that before and we always stop in selfcatering cottages. Such a nice quiet location but not far from main road so easy to visit places in the Peak District. Hot tub was fantastic and so lovely that the birds come to the bird table while you are in it and that the owners very kindly leave bird seed to put out and a bird book to help identify which ones we saw. Not sure you could park two cars, we managed one medium sized car but you could easily park in the lane by the cottage if that was a problem. Lovely pub within walking distance The Black Lion Inn. Really was the small touches that made everything perfect. We went to Hartington for breakfast every day and that was about a 10 minute drive but a lovely little village with several tea rooms Beresford Tea Rooms was by far the best. Perfect location for visiting Peak District villagesAlton Towers. Had wonderful day out at Chatsworth House which is about a 45 minute drive.
