Buckholt Stables Reviews

Nuru was a lovely welcome to the property and gave us a thorough tour of the place. We were pleasantly surprised with how beautiful it was, ample room for our large group and beautiful grounds. We had the perfect weekend and would love to stay again!
Fabulous stay at Buckholt Stables, incredible holiday home with beautiful bedrooms, spacious living and dining areas and a fantastic hot tub. Stayed here for a girls trip in December and we had the time of our lives. Thank you so much to Michael and family, we hope to come back someday!!

Lovely location and beautiful accommodation, poor maintenance and poor housekeeping, owner very nice and helpful

We had a wonderful week at the stables. Watching the hares from the dining room window in the mornings was a special experience. Nuru was excellent. We all found it difficult with the hot taps in the en suites as they turned the wrong way and we often ended up wet. The downstairs loo was fun as when the first person got locked in we wondered where the banging was coming from, until we investigated. Perhaps this could be looked into. Overall a very successful week.

We have had a wonderful week at this property. Very well equipped and beautifully presented, a comfortable, quiet and relaxing place to stay. The facilities are very good however the review takes a hit on maintenance as there were a number of problems with the plumbing. That was quite disruptive, however, the housekeeper was really supportive, responded quickly and managed to get plumbing help summoned promptly, so overall the property deserves a high score. Would definitely recommend to other visitors.

I booked Buckholt Stables as a 60th Birthday surprise for my unsuspecting husband. Family and friends were among our 17 guests ready to celebrate with us. There was much fun and laugher from everyone however we were very disappointed to see that the issues which had been raised by other guests quite some time before and which I had also asked the owner about in previous correspondence had not been attended to. I am concerned that the property is not living up to its full potential. There appears to be a running theme with the customer reviews for Buckholt Stables about poor maintenance, things not working properly and the general repair to the property. This is such a shame when it could be a real gem. One of our showers still wasn't working in Loon Room which is totally unacceptable when as guests we have paid for this facility. I trust that money will be refunded for this! Only one of the dishwashers was working which again caused great inconvenience when you are a large party there are three in the industrial kitchen. We had no hot water on the morning of our departure in the kitchen again causing total inconvenience for trying to clear the property. Two of the sofas in the main living room had broken legs and the third sofa was also in a state of disrepair. These are ongoing issues which despite being pointed out by other guests, are not being dealt with in a timely manner. The owner's email communication leading up to our holiday has been so good developing a strong relationship with the guest, but as I have already said, the ongoing issues blight everything and this is such a shame when, Buckholt Stables is in a wonderful location, and has all the makings of what could be a special property. At the moment it is unfortunately not really as advertised promoted.
It is indeed a very nice property to live in with a large gathering of friends and family. We appreciated the offerings the place had and there is a lot that one can do during their stay whilst enjoying the nature around. For the property, would suggest to have some scheduled maintenance to be in place. During our stay we only had one dish washer, and couple of showers weren't working. If the property has some routine maintenance, .am sure the stay would be more enjoyable. Thanks, Manju
The stables and grounds absolutely fantastic. Enjoyed a family weekend there, cosy open fire, large dining table so we could all eat together. Hot tub a lovely treat. Our dog enjoyed exploring the grounds Nuru was really friendly and helpful Would definitely like to return

Fabulous property and beautiful surroundings! We were so comfortable and well looked after by Nuru definitely one to return to.
Stunning property in a fab location albeit a bit difficult to find. We stayed for a Sales Meeting and the facilities were perfect. Amazing rooms with incredibly comfortable beds. The most well equipped industrial kitchen. A dining room that was perfect to hold our meeting in even had an HDMI cable right where I needed one to set up projector!! Strong wifi. Beautiful grounds, hot tub, large BBQ, everything we needed and more.

A beautiful property, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Delightful garden wellfurnished. A kind welcome on arrival. My husband was able to use his mobility scooter throughout the ground floor. We occupied a downstairs room called Luton, which could be made more suitable for mobilityimpaired guests by providing grab bars in the bathroom. We had a lovely time, thank you very much.
Buckholt stables is an incredible property! The commercial kitchen meant we could cook meals for 18 easily, the gas bbq outside is also big enough to cook for 18. The bedrooms were all great, the living room and dining room again were perfect for a big group. We were very lucky with the weather and spent most of our time outside in the front and back gardens, using the massive hot tub and fire pit. The owner Michael called prior to the stay to check if we had any questions which was nice. We were welcomed by Nuru who was lovely and showed us how to use everything. Highly recommend this place for a big birthday or get together.
Absolutely amazing place. the pics on the website dont do it enough justice will definately be looking to visit again
Buckholt Stables is absolutely incredible. The photos do not do it justice. The house and grounds are amazing, the garden is beautiful and we were lucky enough to have the white blossom trees out in full. Each bedroom was an excellent size and each ensuite was ideal. The dining area was beautiful and my family 17 of us! enjoyed being able to all sit together to eat, looking out at the stunning views of the fields. Michael, the owner answered all my questions I had before our stay and the housekeeper was lovely and friendly and nothing was too much trouble when we needed to contact her while we were at the house. The industrial style kitchen was ideal for our big family as it had multiple big fridges and freezers. We would all definitely stay at Buckholt Stables again and would recommend it other large families. 1010
We spent a lovely few days with extended family at Buckholt Stables. The house and garden exceeded our expectations and we had a wonderful time enjoying the facilities, especially the large hot tub and fire pit. Everything we needed was there and the house was very clean and well maintained. A really lovely spacious place to stay.

I rented this property for my fatherinlaws 90th birthday celebration with all his family. The accommodation more that exceeded my expectations the images do not do it justice. The property is immaculately maintained and has everything you would need. The garden and surrounding farmland are beautiful and the hot tub is huge! Everything was perfect. Thank you. I would happily book Buckholt stables again.
I had booked this house to celebrate a special birthday with a group of friends and I couldnt have picked better everyone in the party was completely blown away by it. It was so comfortable and we struck lucky with the weather allowing us to breakfast outside and enjoy the gorgeous garden, the dogs loved the freedom to just run around in it safely, the hot tub is huge and was well used all weekend. The catering kitchen was perfect to cook up a special celebration meal all in all it was a weekend to remember and has given us some very special memories, I would thoroughly recommend it.
Michael at Buckholt Stables was very helpful especially prior to our stay, answering any concerns or queries we had. Can't fault Buckholt Stables, it was amazing. However, I wouldn't use your site again as I felt the information you provided regarding the chef & gala was inaccurate & misleading, which I raised this with yourselves at the time.
Fabulous! Very clean. Amazing facilities and grounds. Loved it!

Second time back and would certainly come back. Ideal for our big family gettogether.

We stayed at Buckholt Stables recently to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday, although the photos on the website looked nice, they dont do the actual property the justice it deserves. Every bedroom was perfect, a fully comprehensively kitted out commercial kitchen, lovely dining and sitting room areas, not to mention the brilliant locker room cw dog pens. To top it off there is a lovely private garden and hot tub area, which was a great addition to an already well thought out and impressive property. We will definitely be booking again next year !

We were at Buckholt Stables with family for my sister's 60th birthday, the age range was 7 to 63. What a brilliant time we all had! The Stables are beautiful and the facilities superb. Large dining room and living room with room for everyone to sit comfortably, a very big fireplace so everyone was toasty. The bedrooms are 5 star, all with ensuite. Unoverlooked and looking out to lovely countryside at the back and a large private garden at the front. I didn't realise there was a hot tub when we booked, but it's huge and went down very well with all ages. Michael and Nuru were both so helpful and we felt very welcomed. Honestly the photos which look good actually don't do the place justice as not all the facilities are shown, we were delighted. Fabulous place for family or friends get together, I would wholeheartedly recommend.
The facilities at Buckholt Stables are exceptional the large hot tub was much appreciated by the youngsters and the oldies could relax in beautiful gardens. For animal lovers the abundance of peasants and partridges on site and the view of the cattle were lovely. The bedrooms are fantastic all en suite and with very comfortable beds. The furnishings throughout the property were excellent. The commercial kitchen takes some getting used to when selfcatering but its array of machines and utensils is amazing. We had excellent excursions to Salisbury Cathedral and Mottisfont National Trust Gardens, both within easy reach. The introduction by the housekeeper was both very welcoming and informative.
One of the on suite toilets did not work, also there were no kitchen knives. We had to ring the house keeper for a bread knife and knife for preparing food. There was also no hot water in the kitchen. We all thought that having to vacate the property by 9am, and having to strip all the beds and wash up in cold water instructions were to leave dishwasher empty unreasonable, especially as we had a disabled and very elderly member of the family.
Our family holiday was truly excellent. The holiday home exceeded our expectations. Everyone from my newest granddaughter of 8weeks to me grandad had a fantastic time. Everything was there that you needed. The hot tub was a real bonus. The other 6 grandchildren loved it. We felt totally at ease with all the extras we did not expect. The space. The gardens. The cows and there new calfs. The BBQ. The swing chairs in the garden. Really excellent. And the owner. A true Gent. Nothing was a problem. His help sorting out activities for us all. A wonderful host. We WILL BE BACK !!!!!.

Fabulous House perfect for large family groups and Reunions in a great location. Helpful owners and staff
Andrew
Fantastic house with every luxury. Hidden in lovely countryside and felt completely isolated. Great walks and runs from the house and plenty to do nearby. We loved the big family dining room, luxury rooms and bathrooms, bar, jacuzzi, private garden and really useful and interesting OS map wallpaper. We also had a catered dinner organised by the owner for a family celebration the chef Kaye was fantastic well worth doing. 1010

The holiday rental was very luxurious and peaceful with good facilities. The attitude of Sykes in ignoring government guidelines during the Covid 19 situation left a lot to be desired and I will not be using them again.
Louise
This is by far the best holiday rental we have ever stayed in! The pictures do not do it justice. This is an absolutely wonderful house with superb touches. We are looking to rebook as we enjoyed our stay so much. Have shouted from the rooftops about this but fear everyone will be booking and this will limit availability to me!!

Buckholt Stables is a really remarkable place, perfect for family gatherings. The accommodation is of an exceptionally high standard and clearly a lot of care and attention has been lavished on every detail. The site whilst somewhat remote is beautifully situated with plenty of walks in all directions. The facilities match high end hotels and the attention to our requirements by the hosts made for an excellent family reunion. This is a very special place which exceeded expectations on all levels.
Buckholt Stables is a wonderful venue for a big family holiday plenty of room for children to play. A beautiful Christmas tree was provided for us. Beds very comfortable and of impressive size!
This property is absolutely stunning! The bedrooms are large and beautifully decorated, as are the bathrooms. Every details has been thought of, clearly with guests' comforts in mind. Both the dining room and the living room are very spacious. We were a party of 16 including 4 lively children and there was more than enough space for all of us. The grounds are gorgeous with a huge hot tub too and Michael, the owner, is very friendly and helpful. Everything about this place is just perfect. I cannot recommend it strongly enough. A weekend here really was a treat!
Our stay a Buckholt Stables was wonderful, it is a beautiful house in a stunning location. The house is well equipped, extremely comfortable, decorated and furnished to a very high standard with many thoughtful touches. The owner and the staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. We had dinner cooked by the the chef on Saturday night which was delicious and really made our weekend special, Our stay from start to finish was faultless
