Beck View Reviews

The cottage is stunning and high spec in a fabulous setting. The only thing I would change is a slightly later check out like 11am 12noon. Feels very rushed 8 people getting up and out by 10am. I would definitely stay again though and recommend to friends.
Our annual friends' retreat led us to Beck View this year, and it was a complete delight! This cottage is an absolute gem boasting breathtaking views and a clean and modern, wellequipped setup. With 2 ensuite double bedrooms upstairs and 2 more rooms downstairs, along with 2 bathrooms, it comfortably accommodated our group of 6. The garden, including a hot tub on the patio, which added an extra touch of luxury to our stay. A 20minute walk led us to a welcoming pub where we enjoyed delicious food and a warm atmosphere. The only minor hiccup was the living room seating a long corner sofa that tended to move apart while we sat, but it was a trivial issue that didn't bother us too much. Beck View won our hearts so much so that we immediately rebooked it for next year! Looking forward to creating more unforgettable memories in what is a really lovely and fabulous retreat
We chose this property for our group of 3 as it was our present to our best friend for her 60th birthday. One of the main reasons for selecting this cottage was for the hot tub but also the pictures gave a very positive impression of the standard of the home. We were not disappointed. It is a beautiful, well maintained cottage. The standard of the finishings and furniture are excellent, providing very comfortable seating and sleeping arrangements. The hot tub was fantastic pity the weather wasn't
Great place with everything needed host on had if you need anything
Second time in this lovely house. Spotlessly clean, very well equipped. Stunning scenery. Plenty of parking. Short taxi ride into Kendal. Fantastic property for a group due to the open plan kitchen, dining and living area. The only negative would be the hot tub is cold on the first night as it takes time to heat up.
Beautiful cottage lovely decor and really well appointed. Hot tub was lovely. Highly recommend this property.
Lovely property in superb location. House clean with extensive inventory and modern appliances, everything you need for a comfortable stay. Beds very comfortable, plenty of space in bedrooms and bathrooms. Near to Kendal and some lovely walks. Easy to get to the rest of the lakes, but car is essential. Loved the hot tub, we even used it in the rain!
The property is finished to a high standard and was very comfortable for three couples. Beck View is a short drive from Kendal and is handy both for the Lakes and the western Dales. We very much enjoyed the stay.

Weve just spent the loveliest week at Beck View and couldnt fault it at all. The setting is perfect and the house was superb for our family gathering. The hot tub was enjoyed by everyone and the garden area was ideal for an 18 month old to run around and play with her bike. I would definitely recommend Beck View to anyone looking for a peaceful rural setting with a short drive into town.
Beautiful accommodation. Would recommend it to all. Our little one loved that sheep and cows were so close to the house. Lovely countryside and lots to do in the area.
The house was amazing. So clean, neat and tidy. Its like a hotel and we all had a relaxing and enjoyable break. We would highly recommend!!
Six Family members very much enjoyed our week's stay at Beck View in the middle of June. The facilities were excellent, though there were problems with operating the oven. One elderly person could not access the shower located in the family bathroom over the bath. We suggest that clothes hooks inside the bathroom doors, and wedges for the springloaded bedroom doors, would be assets for your elderly visitors, as would some way of making the patio steps more visible. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and of course the hottub was very popular.
Had an amazing time and the owners were very helpful and so lovely and kind. Beautiful property and very well kept and organised. Definitely come back regularly. Our holiday felt very special so thank you . Mrs Moore

We were a party of 6 staying the end of April 2023. The property was lovely & rural with beautiful views. Clean & the bedrooms were beautifully decorated. The only thing I would suggest is soft closes on the doors as they slam shut & in the bedrooms hook's on the back of the doors for dressing gowns. We really enjoyed our stay & would recommend the place .
Kathryn
Gorgeous property, as described. Stunning views and great location.

First class accommodation in scenic and peaceful surroundings. One of the best cottages we have stayed in! Everything you could want from facilities to location.
This property is fantastic the views are to die for, lovely rooms really comfy ... This property is fantastic the views are to die for, lovely rooms really comfy beds big plus for that, plenty parking space, hot tub nice and hot on arrival and good size as well, the only little niggle is check in a bit late most property's are 3 oclock apart from that no issues loved it and definitely hope to return
Had a fantastic stay at Beck View. The cottage was clean and had all the facilities we needed. The hot tub made an excellent addition and along with the wonderful view of the surrounding area was very relaxing! Would definitely recommend, and look forward to returning again if the price is right.
Brilliant location, close enough to Kendal for shopping but still very quiet and peaceful surroundings. Lovely little stream outside the garden too. All aspects of the house were very clean and well catered for. Hot tub was hot and clean upon arrival. Would definately recommend.
Amanda
Lovely place to stay, very comfortable & had everything we needed. Only slight niggle was that not all items on the inventory were where they should have been ie.plastic tumblers in each bathroomhad to search for them! Cleaning team need to pay more attention to detailduvet was in the cover sidewaysOops & some cooking utensils were not clean! All in all had a wonderful time & Beck View is lovely & in a gorgeous setting for exploring The Lakes & taking it easy .
All I can say is wow. If you are thinking about booking this property then do it! The photos do not do justice to this property at all. The views are absolutely insane, and we had the treat of the farmers sheep being on site with us! This is the most comfortable and clean lodge Ive ever stayed in, and there was plenty of room for 8 adults. We got a taxi into Windermere, which was 30 each way for a 8 seater minibus. The fridge is a good size so store foods Asda delivery available to the lodge or we ordered a takeout from Pizzeria Italia which was lovely. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend.
Yvonne
Our stay was very enjoyable the hot tub could have been a few degrees warmer sofa a bit annoying because of the movement every time you moved holiday would have been a benefitted by an early check in. But overall a nice place to and enjoyed.
Rachel
We loved this house, it was immaculately clean, well furnished with comfy beds, powerful showers and a well equipped kitchen. The only criticism was the hot tub was not warm enough to use on the Friday evening and the hot tub is a big factor why we choose a house so this did spoil our first night.
Had an absolutely fantastic weekend, good friends, good food, great accommodation, and a brilliant position. Hosts are very welcoming, and we wanted for nothing . Highly recommended.

We had a lovely Christmas at Beck View. It is a lovely property and was perfect for 2 families coming together. The hot tub was fantastic and was enjoyable night and day, come rain or sun and we had plenty of rain! We found the beds very comfortable and enjoyed having smart TVs in all bedrooms. The water pressure was great, sometimes more than one shower was on at once and no one suffered with low pressure. The sofa was comfortable but it was so annoying every time it moved when you got on and off, we were constantly moving each piece back into place. It would be ideal if they could be stuck together somehow and when they moved, you saw the amount of dust under them! We had no problem cooking for 7 of us, we did find the plates small and thankfully some of the party lived locally as we had to get larger pans as found them on the small side. The property was lovely and warm, too warm at times and we sometimes struggled to control the heating but it was so cosy! I would say reading the other reviews, we do agree with majority of what was said. The cleaning could have been better, dust on the lamp shades, the showers in the corners were dirty, behind cabinets we found a bit of dust but nothing that warranted any callouts, its more just a pointer for the owner and cleaner really. The property is self catering and we understand that but there was no cleaning spray so we had to go and buy our own, no salt or pepper, only 1 toilet roll per bathroom is start off where previously we have had 2 in other self catering properties. We found damage to the ceiling in the lounge which needs looking into but I suppose with back to back bookings, it is difficult to find the find. We noticed the hot tub cooled down on our last evening but again, nothing of too much concern. The owner very kindly left us 2 bottles of Prosecco and a box of chocolates for our arrival which was lovely, thank you. We also had some confusion with the bed configuration which the owner responded too quickly, again, thank you. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time and have left with wonderful memories, there are just a few things that I feel could be improved to make it a solid 5 out of 5! I would definitely return and would recommend Beck View to others.

Ten out of ten , when booking these breaks you are just looking at pictures and reviews , this cottage is amazing , open plan so always with friends what ever is happening , 4 bathrooms , hot tub was great , and the November break was amazing weather , been able to sit out and take in the warm rays of the sunshine , thank you from the Durham girls , well worth looking at this one if your looking to take break in this area
The phone number provided to get in touch with the property agents was not answered, I phoned and text with an enquiry and no one got back to us which was annoying. There are hair dryers provided which was one of the enquiries. The hot tub was lovely, a canopy or gazebo above would have been appreciated. The house was amazing and we had a fantastic stay, lovely and cosy I would recommend this property.

Another lovely stay at Beck View Just a few niggles . .... The weather was not very kind to us nothing to do with the house but the hot tub could when we managed to use it certainly was not a the right temperature. I have never felt chilly when in a hot tub. Also a cover would be a great advance so when the weather is not good you could still enjoy this facility.
We loved Beck View! Group of ladies annual meet up. House beautifully and tastefully decorated. Everything high spec. Well equipped kitchen a few extra chopping boards wouldnt go amiss. Amazing location. Spectacular scenery but not far from Kendal. Prebooked taxis for nights out. Parking area accommodated about five cars. Hot tub okay but would not accommodate all of us! It takes a long time to heat up so if you want to be able to use it on the first day I would contact the owner. Loved it so much have booked for next year.
Carolyn
A very comfortable fully en suite accommodation in a pleasing rural location providing an ideal location for a gathering of our older cousins close to Kendal.
A fantastic property. We really didn't want to leave! Loved the hot tub. Location was perfect for what we wanted. There was literally only one small complaint, the cleaners clearly didn't have an eye for detail. Facial hair clippings in the bedroom bin and thick dust on the bedroom lamps, just to name a couple of things. However, we would most definitely book again.
Beck View is a beautiful place to stay, tranquil and very relaxing. The accommodation is lovely and everything we wanted, and the host we met was very friendly and knowledgeable of the local area. We would stay again in a heartbeat, it was lovely! My only slight niggle would be that the listing says it has a garden, but actually it just has a patio area. The grass is off limits and my children found that quite disappointing. Just a couple of minor suggestions that would be useful Measuring jug for kitchen Slow closers on the fire doors they slam if you forget how heavy they are! Shoe rack in the utility area.
All thou there was an issue with hot tub the owner was quick to respond and we ... All thou there was an issue with hot tub the owner was quick to respond and we had a great time I would recommend anybody to book Becks view it was great thanks from all of us Tony ann and familyxxxx
We stayed for a week and the cottage was better than expected spotlessly clean with brilliant en suitesbathrooms, very comfortable beds and everything you would need for a short break. The area was so peaceful and quiet and the hot tub was fantastic for relaxing in. The lounge area could possibly be set up differently and the sofa seemed to slide around a little, but other than that it was a great house. Not quite sure how 8 adults would all fit there was 4 of us but the out door space more than makes up for it.
Wow! Such a beautiful house for a weekend with friends in the Lakes! I sometimes worry that a rental property will not live up to the pictures online, however, this property excelled in all areas. From the minute we stepped out the car we instantly fell in love with the house the cleanliness outside was second to none, and the views and space you have outdoors is fantastic! The hot tub was amazing, and the large patio area was great for Al Fresco dining! The inside of the property was equally as clean, and very spacious. All rooms were stunning and the beds SO comfy, we didnt want to leave! The only criticism we would have is no basic condiments were provided. A simple welcome hamper would be a lovely touch with potentially 2 large bottles of water, milk, sugar, salt & pepper and kitchen roll. Other than this, we have no other negative comments, and would fully recommend this property!
Prashant
We didn't find the linen bags. . and didn't know how the heating worked. However facilities were fantastic and well thought through from light switches to electrical USB plug sockets. Rest of the instructions were perfect, a little more guidance on dishwasher and dryer maybe useful.. otherwise perfect.. Thank you.
Deborah
What a fantastic place to spend 6 days with the family, the rooms were spacious, modern and clean. The views of the countryside were wonderful. The Hot Tub was used every day and is the icing on the cake.Thank you Debbie Benson
A fabulous place, felt like we were the first to stay there it was so clean. Beds incredibly comfortable. Great location, so peaceful yet only a short drive to Kendal and the Yorkshire dales. Maybe add some robe hooks on doors is the only constructive thing!!
