A wonderful property in an ideal location to visit the lakes. A short walk from Bowness was great for visiting the local pubs, cafes and shops. The house itself was perfect for 8 adults with everything you could need and with amazing views of the lakes. Couldn't recommend Brantlea enough and hope to return there soon

Lovely home, absolutely spotless, fantastic views from the Lounge and especially the Jacuzzi and summer room area. Location also excellent, with 5 mins walk into Bowness Centre, although very steep access drive leading up to the property especially with a pram and small children Overall, excellent home & excellent stay

The property was exceptionally clean and the decor was to the highest standard seen with a fully stocked kitchen of equipment and multiple fridges. The steep garden wont appeal to everyone but the view and the hot tub facilities at the top are definitely worth it. The property is in a quiet position at the end of a cul de sac so benefits from no passing traffic . We had a fantastic stay.

This property is first class. ..everything you need and more..it is very well maintained and stocked with crockery..cutlery...kitchen appliances galore. ....we stayed with our family for a week in April..it is very close to the town with bars and restaurants. It is a very spacious property, there were 7 of us, a dog and twin babies and it was just fabulous !! If your family want a break to rhe Lake district I would recommend Brantlea very highly. Wow such a gorgeous property with fantastic views. The house is extremely well equipped & beautifully presented. The hot tub added a lovely touch & was enjoyed by all the family. Thanks to the owner who ensured we had everything we needed right down to the Xmas tree. It was a special way to spend a week over Christmas & we would love to return.

We had a very wet week in the Lakes, and with a dog that was recovering from major surgery, we couldnt have wished for a better place to stay for some R&R. Everything had been thoroughly considered and nothing overlooked. The only thing that didnt suit us this time was all of the garden area was on a step slope with steep steps. Without a wonky dog though, that wouldve been fine.

Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.

This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years. There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk. For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families. Corporate groups are also well catered for.

Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH

about 13 Miles

Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction. With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun. You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes. Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money. There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.

South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU

about 16 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals. Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area. Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos. At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed. Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ

about 19 Miles

Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
