Fantastic property, our family felt at home as soon as we arrived.
We had a fantastic week, wheather could have been better but it was December. The hot tub was amazing. Lovely meal in the pub dog walking field was very good for the furboy. The lodge could do some tlc in some areas but we loved the lodge and the beds and bedding was fantastic.we will definitely be back to the elder lodge
Joanne
We really enjoyed our stay, really good location. but the photos on the website need updating , we were dissapointed with the lodge , a lot of wear and tear and nothing like what we were expecting
Stacey
Lovely place to stay, perfect location on the park, would definitely come again
Penelope
Perfect location for exploring the Lakes, amazing holiday lodge and site facilities. The lodge was so cozy and clean with quality furnishings and fittings. The beds were so comfy too. Everything you needed was on hand in the lodge. Loads of accessories for fur babies which was a really nice touch. We would definitely return we really loved it.
Stunning lodge with spectacular views and excellent amenities. Would stay again
The lodge itself had everything we needed facilities wise. But it also had a few issues the fridge freezer was so loud it could be heard from the bedroom it was constant whining noise. The tap was also dripping and we could see this was mentioned on a previous review. The main bedroom bed we felt like we had been bitten constantly when sleeping in this bed felt like fleas so we used the other room, but even now still feel all bitten.
Jennifer
Lovely clean and well equipped lodge still has a drippy tap seems this has already been mentioned in previous reviews. Would be handy to have manuals on oven and washer etc for ease of use. Requested bed to be made into a king size twice and this never happened mattress on single bed very soft and squeaky needs replacing. Overall a lovely stay and would return however the park itself needs to do something about the sheep that run loose leaving mess all over they even got into dog field and left mess that my dog loves to eat she spent the whole holiday with a bad stomach!

We had a lovely stay at Elder Lodge it was very comfortable a real home from home the views were lovely especially from the hot tub and the park is lovely and quiet with great walks for the dog we would definitely stay here again
Claire
Fantastic stay! Lodge was in a great location with stunning views. Sitting in the hot tub looking out over the hills was a bonus. The lodge itself was really roomy. So well equipped not only for us but for our four legged friend. Especially impressed with the linendog room. Thanks for having us.
We are returning customers to this great park and lodge. The lodge has everything you would need for a comfortable, relaxing stay and even has provision for your dog towelsbowls. The hot tub was a god send as the weather was so warm, but even if the weather wasn't good, the hot tub is clean and a welcome additional feature. We did have an issue with the veranda gate not closing and our dog managed to push it open and take herself to the Haybarn pub for a pint thank you much to the bar staff who kept her safe and returned her to us. The maintenance staff did repair this whilst we were there. There were also a dropping tap in the kitchen reported to maintenance and there was a couple of dirty towels in the bathroom on arrival floor towel for the shower, but we had taken our own so it wasn't a big issue. Overall we really enjoyed our stay in this lodge and will look to book in the future.
A brilliant lodge. Spacious well equipped. So comfortable didn't want to leave. In a lovely position. Quiet but only a few miles from Windermere itself. Nice walks for dogs with a dedicated field to run free.
Wonderful lodge. And a added bonus of a hot tub which were fantastic. Beautiful views from every angle. We brought our two golden retrievers on this break with us and they absolutely loved it too. Very dog friendly! Massive plus! Highly recommend this lodge place. Weve already booked to come back again.
Amazing lodge, really clean, great location, hot tub is a nice bonus, strongly recommend this property for dog lovers, our dog absolutely loved it. Thank you so much
Lodge was lovely! Had everything we could possibly need, and was extremely equipped! The heating in the twin bedroom was very temperamental, so we had to keep the bedroom door open to keep it temperate in there. We did notice, not that it affected us in anyway, but it may be worth looking at, that the patio door in the living area didnt look very secure when closed and locked. We cant fault the lodge in anyway!
Malcolm
Lovely lodge all home comforts with added extra of hot tub would recommend this lodge for all
From the moment we arrived on my 50th I was really excited as I had previously phoned and mentioned it was my 50th on arrival so was hoping for maybe a small token card or something but nothing I was a bit disappointed. The place however was great it smelled so nice and was very clean . Our room was great there was lots of storage and the bed and bedding was so comfy even my husband said it was and he is fussy . My 15 year old daughter had the other room I asked to put the beds together so it was a big kingsize she was delighted and the shower room was brilliant with good storage wardrobe too. We booked this especially as it had a hot tub and wow it was amazing myself and my husband had never been in one and it was spotless clean . It was pouring down but was so warm and with the flashy lights you forget it's raining . The little additions of the dog leads poo bags etc was such a nice touch I was impressed. My husband is the cook in our family and he loved the kitchen so much storage pans etc and the oven was amazing we had full chicken roast on Sunday cooked so well sitting round the big table watching a bit of tv . My dog loved it too all the walks round about and being able to be safe on the decking . I could go on how amazing our stay was all day but the only problem we came across was the tv only free view my husband loves his tv we even bought out fire stick but no I ternet connection . We didn't come away to watch TV all day but after a long walk you should have the option to watch more than free view channels. I would defo come again we had a good time .Next time also I think I would book Asda delivery to the site as booths etc was so expensive. All in all great comfy quiet beautiful place loved it . Thank you will definitely come again

We had a fantastic time at the lodge it exceeded all our expectations! The facilities were superb and it truly felt like a home away from home, especially for our furry friends who appreciated the thoughtful addition of dog toys. It's the little things like this that made our stay extra special. However, we did encounter a couple of minor issues that we feel could be improved upon. Firstly, we had some trouble setting up the TV as there was no internet connection available. We were disappointed that we couldn't access Netflix, but this was a minor inconvenience and didn't detract from our overall enjoyment of the lodge. Secondly, we were a little disappointed to find several stains on the duvet cover and sheets when we removed the bed linen. Whilst we understand that accidents can happen, we would have appreciated if the stains had been dealt with prior to our arrival. Despite these minor issues, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the lodge to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable retreat. Thank you for your hospitality and for making our stay so memorable!
We loved the lodge. It's very comfortable and has everything you need plus, it is super dog friendly which suited us down to the ground! It's in a great location on the park which was very quiet and the addition of the hot tub was very welcome after a long day of walking! The pub on the park did some good food and beer and made catering for the family a far less stressful experience on holiday. We will be back.
Stewart
Lodge was lovely and was spotless. Everything was fantastic and would recommend booking. We stayed at the park before COVID so knew it was a lovely park but this was our first private booking and our first one with a hot tub. The facilities were great with everything you would need to get you through your stay. Would highly recommend and would definitely book again. Thank you
Fantastic holiday, really enjoyed it . Amazing views , clean, everything you need for a wonderful stay.
The property was amazing it was very spacious & was very comfortable it also had all the amenities you have in your own home & the plus was a hot tub with amazing views. Will be definitely make another visit & highly recommend this property for a holiday
Jacqueline
This was our first visit to the lodge but have stayed on the site previously. We had a fabulous stay ,the lodge was very well equipped and it is beautiful .we would definitely recommend it to friends and family and will be booking again .The only negative and it is minor issue was the outside area and furniture could have benefited from power washing however this is something I am sure was on your to do list as the weather improves. This did not however spoil our stay and we know only too well how quickly the outside areas can deteriorate over the winter months. I was not even going to mention it but feel sure you would want to know as you obviously take tremendous pride in the upkeep of the lodge .Thankyou for a fabulous week and we hope to visit again soon.
tin Steven
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lodge. Everything was as shown and immaculately clean. The hot tub was a real treat
Cheryl
Beautiful place. Lovely and clean love the 2 bathrooms when 2 couples are sharing . The bed was really comfortable .. we will definitely be booking again.
We have used Elder lodge several times in the past. It is still nice but a bit worn round the edges and showing signs of wear. We had to complain that there were only two wine glasses, we had a leak under the unit which left us with a wet floor, there was a bees nest by the seating area which had to be removed and the power went off. Luckily it had happened before and we knew where the reset was outside. We did enjoy our stay but its honestly a bit expensive now and we shouldnt have had all the above hassles.
The decking required a jet wash. There was a lot of algae which needed washing off. Neighbouring lodges were much cleaner on the outside.
Thomas
Fantastic accommodation, great for dogs and humans alike. Plenty of space, comfort, and facilities that mean you don't need to worry about forgetting anything. Location is spot on too. Can't recommend highly enough.
We had an amazing time at Elder Lodge. It was very clean and comfortable. It is such a spacious lodge, very homely. We would have loved to stay longer. The park was very quiet and we felt very welcome. There were lots of extras such as towels for the dogs, poo bags, toys which was a lovely added touch. Thank you, we will certainly return again!
Weve been coming to Limefitt for almost 10 years now, this was the best lodge weve stayed in by far. Its well planned, spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean and equipped with everything from poop bags to a night light. We were a little apprehensive having seen a couple of the more recent reviews and whilst I agree there are some things that need addressing the floor is dipped in parts under the carpets and needs looking at before it breaks completely, the vinyl coverings on the wardrobe doors are lifting slightly and there are a few other bits and bobs that just need some general maintenance. That said none of the issues would have or did have any impact on your comfort or quality of stay. The lodge is lovely and that cant be taken away, its a holiday home and wear and tear will happen. Overall we loved it and will come again.
Another fabulous few days at Elder Lodge we absolutely love this lodge so relaxing and everything you could possibly need, this is our 3rd time there would have been more if not for covid lock down ! !!
Another lovely stay in Elder Lodge. This lodge is so well equipped and very comfortable. Would highly recommend staying here.
Carole
2nd stay in Elder Lodge . Comfortable lodge and well equipped. Hot tub a bonus . If I had to be critical the floor in bedroom and hall quite soft and dipped. Would stay again . Have been at this site 8 times.
Andrea
Having stayed here several times we were so excited to come back. It has always been our favourite lodge and we were disappointed we missed out on availability last year and had to book an alternative however we have been left disappointed this time. The lodge is starting to look tired and there are 2 great big dips in the floor one in the hall and one in the main bedroom. There was no welcome pack. 2 years ago the children received selection boxes and we were left biscuits and wine, nothing this year and no information booklet, which I was told had been removed due to covid but as everything else was still there, it was pointless really. The children were disappointed that the tree didnt work ie it didnt light up. I did report this and someone came to look at it but a few hours later it was broken again and never worked the entire stay. The blankets left on the couch clearly hadnt been washed as they stunk of dogs. There was a blanket in the second room wardrobe too the same. We know its a dog friendly lodge but weve never had this before. There were only coasters on the table in a lodge for 4 and only 3 big plates. There were no robes and slippers in the bathroom as pictured in the listing. The water dispenser in the fridge was broken missing the inside tube . The remote buttons werent working properly. We couldnt change sound or turn channel down, only up on most occasions. The children found this most annoying. The speaker bar is broken so had to have volume low or put up with the echo it created. One day we tried one of the lodge games kerplunk to find it was all broken and had been taped together in many places. We were told there was a site WiFi but we could only every occasionally access the bar one and sometimes another lodges. It wasnt strong enough to be able to sign in to Netflix or to stream anything. We went to choices health club but they had issues with the boiler so the pool was 35 degrees which was far too hot for a swim. We were disappointed to find the pub had closed for the season when we visited on 2nd January. Nobody had informed us of this and all the signage just stated the Christmas new year openings and no mention of closing. Sadly after 8 years of booking with Lake District lodge holidays, we will not be returning next year . The prices are insane and I have no confidence in the standard of accommodation after issues with cleanliness last year and now feeling disappointed this year with what really was our happy place.
Stacey
Absolutely beautiful cabin, if you are a dog owner, this is the cabin to stay ... Absolutely beautiful cabin, if you are a dog owner, this is the cabin to stay in, close to the local pub and lovely views, cabin has been well cared for, only criticism no control panel on hot tub, so made it difficult to use, will definitely be back when the prices return to normal
Jacqueline
Lodge had everything and more than we expected catered especially well for our dog. Location ideal for walking. Will definitely be back to this area again we all loved it.
Having stayed here previously we knew what to expect and as usual we were not ... Having stayed here previously we knew what to expect and as usual we were not disappointed see you again next year in June
Kelley
The lodge is amazing, especially for dog owners and had lots of toy goodies for my dog, Lola, to enjoy, as well as lovely pictures of the owners labradors who are gorgeous! ! Unfortunately it didnt have everything listed on the welcome email and I had to buy some poo bags and brought my own treats as the jar was pretty empty but Im sure Lola didnt mind. Very useful to have doggy bowls and towels as Ive forgotten to take ours away with us before. I had to buy some poo bags so left them there for the owner next person to use, unfortunately no treats left to leave as Lola ate all ours. The park is beautiful and has lots of stunning views from all angles, as well as a lovely pub to sit and enjoy a drink or food overlooking the park and surrounding hills and the lodge was relaxing and private enough to enjoy feeling like your own little oasis. The lodge doesnt have dedicated WiFi and no way of watching Netflix or prime, even via our mobiles, but it does have a move database with a selection of family friendly movies on to enjoy. The only downside we had was being without water for almost 8 hours on the Sunday from around 9am. We use these long weekends as relaxing time as a couple so only go off the park for short periods of time and spend most of our time on the patio, movie watching or in the hot tub. Not having water meant we couldnt wash, which in turn meant we couldnt use the hot tub either as you have to wash before after. This coupled with losing basic amenities like being able to flush the toilet all day spoiled our time relaxing. We only found out about the water issue when I rang to report it and was told to view social media for updates. No further communication or updates were given to me personally. The social media updates all had lovely apologies from the park and they offered drinking water again only advised on Facebook, nothing locally that we had to arrange collect ourselves but when paying over 1000 its not what you expect. As the cost had already doubled from what weve paid annually over the last 7 years weve been visiting, it meant we lost enjoyment of one of the two full days we had there, which was a shame and is definitely no reflection on the lodge, more Sykes Cottages and the parks management of the issue. Disappointing that even after arriving home weve not had any contact regarding this issue.
Excellent lodge, spacious and well laid out. Very well equipped with essentials and a bonus that the dog crate was provided with essentials for the dogs.
Christine
Was concerned about the dog friendly as my son is allergic but fortunately he was fine. You are right in front of the beer garden and I was again concerned but didnt need to be we heard nothing. The food in the bar was very slow but with the wait. The cocktails at 7 was a slush puppy with alcohol. The tub was fantastic especially in the heatwave we experienced. Loads of fans and air conditioning unit which was a godsend. Would highly recommend this lodge.

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 3 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 8 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 16 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 20 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 22 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 23 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
