Esk Pike Lodge Reviews

I had a lovely stay at Esk Pike lodge, i stayed 3 nights. it is very homely especially at this time of year with the christmas tree and decorations up! me and my partner absolutely loved it no faults everything was just perfect. Very clean lodge with everything you need for your stay. I have stayed at white cross before in different lodges but this one is just everything and more. The owners provide you with a variety of games, internet and a smart tv. I would 100 recommend and i will definitely be staying again!
We couldnt get WiFi as the password provided did not work. The kitchen could do with a few more utensils such as a colander, wine glasses maybe a small folding table to eat at. Especially when the weather isnt good enough to sit on decking.
This was a lovely, comfy, cosy lodge, which was just the right size for a family of 34. The hot tub is an added bonus. We enjoyed out stay and will book again. However the WIFI is terrible, we could not access the private WIFI account at all and the park one drops out constantly, the TV had no signal whatsoever!! I know you do not go on holiday to watch TV but with a teenager and a rainy day there was not much else to do!! The only other things worth a mention, there is no dining table again not an issue if you plan on eating out every night and no clothes horse which made it a bit difficult to dry swimming costumes and towels after the hot tub when the weather was bad! As stated these are minor things we loved our stay and the lodge and have already recommended it to friends and family and are planning a return visit.

Everything is perfect Perfect perfect! Beautiful location and the property is beautiful. You can see the sunset from the hot tub. The bed so cosy and very comfy bed make you dont want to leave the bed
I stayed at Esk Pike Lodge with my partner and it was a lovely, cosy space for the two of us. A lovely secluded spot, felt like we were high up in the trees looking out the windows. Very quiet and peaceful, beautiful spot. We travelled by trainbus and there are very convenient bus stops right outside the park. We couldn't figure out how to get the fire on, my partner and I followed the instructions provided but nothing happened. But it was still warm once the radiators heated up. The little village nearby was lovely to walk through and plenty of nice places for coffee or to shop. Not far from the lake front either. The hot tub hut was lovely, we were thankful for the shelter over the hot tub with the torrential rain during our stay. Only thing to mention would be the hairdryer was covered in something sticky and looked like it could break off. It still worked but I couldn't remove or clean whatever was stuck to it. But everything else was clean and we really enjoyed our stay.
Colette
This lodge was lovely and cosy. In the perfect position. Brilliant hot tub.
Lovely lodge, well placed for privacy. Hot tub was excellent and clearly well maintained, we really enjoyed making the most of it during the evenings. Lovely lounge and fire which made for cosy nights. Double bedroom was very comfortable. A few minor adjustments would make the lodge perfect. For example, there was not adequate glassware. Dining space inside was tight and there were only 2 of us. The shower room could do with some love and attention. All in all we had a great stay and would return.
Robert
Really nice lodge, great hot tub, in a good location. Well placed for exploring the lakes.
We loved are stay at esk pike lodge soon as we walked through the door we realised that we had picked a good one the hot tub was amazing the lodge was cosy had everything you need and most of all was on a lovely part of the park very private. . the kids loved it and have already asked if we can go back next year so will definitely be returning..thanks for an amazing stay xx
Victoria
We loved our week stay at Esk Pike. The cabin was cosy and clean and the hot tub was a big win. A couple of extras would give it a 10 however. There was no clothes maiden...it was difficult to dry clothes and towels, especially if using the hot tub and swimming everyday. Secondly, out of 3 phones...non of us could connect to the WiFi at all. Two of us couldn't even get phone reception and the third had to buy extra data. I know it is advertised as not being strong and ran by the resort, but the log on details were not parkdean so very confusing. All in all, a great stay...a good base for exploring Windermere and surrounding areas, just a couple of small things would have made it 100.
Fantastic holiday at Esk Pike, clean and comfortable accommodation in a peaceful location on the park. Loved relaxing in the very private hot tub after days out exploring the lakes. Would recommend the lodge to family and friends, definitely hope to return in the future.
Absolutely brilliant! Such a lovely lodge with loads of privacy! Will definitely be back! Would recommend to anyone!
Absolutely loved our mini break away. Small slight disappointment but also quite nice was the lack of signal and unconnectable Wifi. Required to leave the site to obtain signal to contact friends who was looking after our house while we were away, causing a slight hinderance
A basic but comfy and warm lodge. We had a great few days here. If I was to ask or request one addition, would be a clothes airerdryer. We had torrential rain, so consent wet coats, socks, clothing and also for the towels after hot tub use.
The site the lodge was located on was great and overall the accommodation was amazing. The only negative was unfortunately we couldn't stay in the main double room due to the extremely strong musty smell that persisted despite leaving the windows open. This was disappointing. We still enjoyed the lodge.
What can I say about Esk Pike Lodge, the living room or lounge if your posh is very cosy, nice setteesofabed, big t. V not a lot of channels about 20 on freeview., lovely fireplace, nice carpet. The kitchen has all the usual items you would need, kettle, microwave ,toaster, oven, hob, fridge freezer, crockery etc. The bedrooms both have t.vs and drawers for your clothes, the main bedroom has an overbed wardrobe although the middle cupboard was padlocked for whatever reason. The bathroom was nice with a decent shower in it, towels were provided. Oh yeah and a hot tub which we used every day we were there. Now the downsides of Esk pike lodge. there isn't many. 1. the mattress in the main bedroom was not good for me or my wife it was too soft and springy, so I ended up sleeping on the settee and my wife on the single bed, who's mattress was also no good for me. 2. no place for a BBQ, not that we could have had one as it rained all the time we were there. 3. the wifi, its not brilliant, we had 2 days with no internet service at all, so basically used up all our data allowances on the mobiles, I mean I wasn't expecting superfast fibre broadband, but some internet connection would have been nice. now in conclusion would I stay at Esk pike lodge again, simple answer YES,we're already looking for next year would I recommend this lodge to other people, again simple answer YES I WOULD, its a lovely cosy lodge in a quiet part of the park. one last thing, on the morning we were leaving I was sat outside when a DEER came walking past, which was quite a nice ending to our weekend break
Lovely little lodge, great facilities on site
Mr Phillip Brooks
We loved our stay in Esk Pike Lodge. Everything was clean and ready to go upon arrival. The lodge is situated in a fantastic part of the holiday park where it feels very private and uninterrupted. Inside the lodge, everything was clean, tidy and well presented. The hot tub was ready to enter immediately and was fully functional throughout the stay. I would 100 recommend this particular lodge to anybody who wanted a quiet, luxurious break for a reasonable price. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Nice lodge, bed could have been more comfortable. Location lovely. Could have been cleaner. One wall heater was broken but we were provided with an electic plug in heater. Whilst the park generally was a little tired in places the Lodge itself is tucked away in a little spot and feels very homely. Ms Kelly Jones
Me and my daughter had a lovely relaxing stay at EskPike. The location was secluded and peaceful and the Hot Tub was fantastic, especially as it was in its own enclosed section for privacy. We found it very welcoming and homely but I did struggle for comfort in the beds and this resulted in a poor sleep pattern through our stay. The cabin was clean and tidy, but I feel the outside could have been cleaned down and freed from all the cobwebs etc. As a whole we really enjoyed our stay and definitely returned home relaxed and refreshed as planned. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Hot tub, especially the privacy of it. What one experience e.g attraction, walk, day out would you recommend for our future guests? My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our short break in Esk Pike Lodge. The lodge is very wellequipped and had everything we needed during our stay. With commanding views over the park, the lodge is nestled into a small wooded area. We found the lodge to be very clean and tidy, as well as being extremely cosy on the colder evenings. The position of the hot tub is fantastic, as we were able to listen to birdsong while watching the sun go down on several occasions, which was extremely relaxing. It really is the perfect place to stay in the lakes and we wouldn't hesitate to book again. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The location of the lodge and the hot tub. Enjoyed a fabulous weekend at Esk Pike Lodge. The lodge was very cosy and comfortable, the hot tub was great and liked the fact that it was secluded. Ideal location as a short bus ride to Windamere or Ambleside, bus stop just outside the park. The amenities on the park were great we didn't use the pool but did have a drink in the bar clubhouse. The food looked good and was reasonably priced. There is also a little shop on site which was useful. Overall a great weekend. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Hottub What one experience e.g attraction, walk, day out would you recommend for our future guests? Walk into Lakeside or to Windamere

Staff on site are all very friendly and helpful, and communication is excellent, with texts and emails giving information and contact details leading up to the break. Cannot fault anything. We have had another lovely break, and it was great seeing the family of deer again wandering around in the mornings! What did you enjoy most about your stay? The lodge and location. What one experience e.g attraction, walk, day out would you recommend for our future guests? Cuckoo Brow Inn at Far Sawrey was lovely for lunch.
Mr Chris Allen
We stayed here for our honeymoon as we've always wanted to stay in a traditional log cabin and this did not disappoint. On first arrival the reception was so friendly clean and looked so picturesque. As we were approaching our cabin we were amazed at how private and spacious it was with lovely views through all the trees it just felt cozy before we got through the door. The inside of the cabin was very well kept clean tidy and again every room was cozy with nice little finishing touches. We didn't expect board games and a selection of dvds in the livingroom this was a nice little touch for family's. The hot tub was amazing, clean and a lovely experience to sit under the little hut which made the hot tub private even though nobody was over looking it anyway but it was a nice finishing touch. We loved every minute of it and are that impressed we are thinging of bringing our girls back in the future. Thank you for a lovely stay. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Everything the whole stay was perfect What one experience e.g attraction, walk, day out would you recommend for our future guests? The boat rides around lake windermere are good the views are breath taking.

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 4 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 10 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 15 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 18 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 22 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 23 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
