Limefitt Lodge Reviews

Fabulous & memorable family weekend away in beautiful Limefitt Lodge to celebrate my husbands special birthday. The lodge was absolutely perfect and we were all so impressed at how clean, comfortable and well equipped it was. We will never forget sitting in the hot tub with thick snow surrounding us. Magical. I would also like to thank the owners for contacting us & being so supportive & accommodating regarding all the travel difficulties due to the snow. Thank you.
Christopher
Beautiful lodge very clean and cozy. We will definitely return. The lodge had everything you needed and the hot tub was amazing thankyou.

This lodge has everything you could ask for and more! From the moment we walked in we knew this was the perfect place to unwind and relax and we certainly did that. The lodge felt very spacious, loved the open plan living space, the kitchen were modern and had everything we needed, especially loved the nespresso machine which added that extra special touch. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated and the beds are super comfy which was great as my husband has arthritis. There was only 3 of us staying but should have been 5 but it felt like there would have still been plenty of space not to feel on top of each other. It was nice to have the option of an ensuite for the master bedroom and the shower was super powerful which was a real treat. Outside on the decking was lovely with flowers in pots, giving it a homely feel. We only used the hot tub twice as the weather was torrential one day, but it was amazing and so relaxing. Our two dogs were so well catered for, the facilities on site were perfect, the dog field was great to let them off the lead and we enjoyed taking them with us for a meal in the local pub. The dogs loved the box in the lodge with the tennis balls in. We will definitely be boking again but next time for 7 nights as 4 wasn't long enough!
Great lodge only 1. 30pm wednesday electric went off till 2.30 am 13 hours one broken torch one torch not charged ,might want to think about this .Other than that couldn't fault lodge or site had a great time thank you
Robert
We have just returned from what can only be described as the great outdoors holiday. Limefitt Park is situated in a place where views are incredible. The lodge had everything even more kitted out than my house. If you like walks then this place is for you as there is a walk directly out the back of the site pub to troutbeck Tongue. Overall this was a 5 star stay for us & we would most definitely return.

Our 5th time to Limefitt park but 1st to Limefitt lodge. A fabulous lodge with great facilities, very well presented and clean Even thought of what the dogs may need on their holidays.. Dog bowls for inside and out.. Our 13 year spaniel now has an outdoor bowl at home because he loved the one at the lodge. Hope to be a return visitor
Thank you for a very enjoyable stay, the lodge was homely and comfortable and we had a good nights sleep in the beds. I found the lodge to be clean and well equipped with added extras we havent had on previous breaks away. The lodge setting is beautiful, a great park for exploring and spending time outside and is the location is good as the few places we visited we all within a 1020 minute drive. The pub serves nice food and is reasonably price plus has nice outside areas to dine outside and enjoy the views.

The property is absolutely stunning, nicest lodge we've ever stayed in and we've stayed in alot! really well equipped and comfortable, the WiFi and Netflix were such an added and very appreciated bonus so thank you. We will definitely book again!
Lovely lodge comfortable, well equipped and in a lovely setting with lovely walks.
Ashley
The lodge was absolutely fantastic, in all honesty the photos dont do it justice. It was so much bigger and more spacious then we expected. The decking being fully gated made a world of difference to us having the dog. The hot tub was divine. Everything was beautiful and so clean! We would stay again in a heartbeat
We had a fabulous stay apart from the weather! at Limefitt Lodge. Lovely, quiet location on the site as well as a great base for exploring South Lakes. Lodge was as described with everything provided that would be needed for our stay. Hot tub was a great addition. Would highly recommend.
Rebecca
We had a great stay in July 2022. With 5 adults and 1 dog, there was more than enough space for everyone to relax. The hot tub was an added bonus. Nice quiet lodge and handy for the onsite pub.
A fantastic lodge that is very well equipped, there wasn't anything that we found wanting for. Very quite park in a great location for walking.. The hot tub is a wonderful addition, especially after going in the River Pool!
Brilliant stay again at Limefitt park, this lodge in particular was our favourite one so far! Very clean and modern. Hope to be returning in the future.
Lovely accommodation, and facilities within the lodge. Fabulous hot tub. Amazing scenic walks right near the Lodge. Highly recommend Queens Head pub nearby.
Leanne
A lovely, cosy lodge in a beautiful setting with fantastic walks straight from the front door. The lodge exceeded our expectations, we had a wonderful time and look forward to staying again in the near future.
We had a lovely stay in this stunning lodge. It was in a beautiful spot only 10 minutes drive to either windermere or Ambleside. It was spotlessly clean with every utensil needed. The beds were very comfortable as we're the sofas. Even though there were 6 of us as well as our little dog it never seamed overcrowded, & the hot tub was the icing on tht cake. We'll definitely recomend it to anyone and everyone !
Alexander
Very good quality accommodation and as per details supplied. Couple of points to note Front door handle needs some work, lock is difficult to manage and needs some force to openlock Could do with more external lights especially around hot tub area General lighting around the park is quite poor
Well where do I begin, the lodge was absolutely perfect in every way. Lovely welcome with a complimentary Bottle of Prosecco and delicious fudge. Brilliant location as you dont get many people walking past and was lovely and peaceful. Everywhere was so clean and well cared for we felt instantly at home and we did for the whole week. So much storage for all your clothes and cases ect and had everything you need for cooking, the grater and can opener needs replacing as both were rubbish but other that that it had everything you need to cook and so many nice glasses and cutlery. Great choice of games and dvds to keep everyone entertained. Hot tub was fab and thoroughly enjoyed using it with great views. Bedrooms all spacious and beds very comfortable and nice to have the option of ensuite or not with the 2 separate doors. Shower in the ensuite was really powerful to. We really cant wait to return very soon thank you.
Vickey
Beautiful and relaxing place to stay. The lodge is lovely, very clean, spacious and comfortable. Thank you.
Beautiful lodge, would definitely recommend and the hottub was an added bonus! ! One of the bathrooms had been updated from the photos we seen I think adding these photos would be beneficial, the only downside neither bathroom door locked. Great location ten minutes from Windermere and the owner had left leaflets for nearby adentures and board games on site. Limefitt park has a nice little walk for anyone who has a dog and a small gated field to let your dog run free.
This was our second time visiting this park and lodge and we were so pleased to be back. The lodge is perfect for what we needed and it was very clean. So cosy and a really nice break away. Hot tub had been moved around the side which was more private, I dont think you could see as much of the lovely views but as I say, more private. A really lovely place to stay.
Wow, our first time staying in the lakes, and it was amazing, such a beautiful place, we will definitely be back. Only downfall is that we were only there for a long weekend wish we'd have been there longer. The lodge itself was so beautiful, so clean, such a comfortable, luxurious place to stay. Thankyou so much for this wonderful experience and well needed break. Honestly cannot fault the place.
Beautiful lodge with excellent facilities lovely to come home to when the weather is wet which it was for our entire stay unfortunately.
Katherine
This was my first proper break as a frontline nurse since COVID arrived it was exactly what was needed to stay in an amazing lodge in amazing surroundings. The lodge was very clean and the attention to detail was fantastic! To arrive to Prosecco and chocolates was a lovely touch. I would recommend this lodge to anyone looking for a relaxing break, we are already looking to book for next year.
The nicest place I have ever stayed! Everything was immaculate not even so much as a finger print! Really made my 30th birthday special.
This lodge was amazing, very clean and comfortable, hot tub was a bonus, the pub on site was very good, staff very friendly and dog's welcome.
Andrea
Limefitt Lodge is well equipped and very comfortable. It was spotless when we arrived. We were initially nervous with C19 and having stayed at other parks nearby in previous years where the lodges have been filthy on arrival. This one however, was absolutely spotless, thank you. This has to be the best lodge we've stayed at. It had everything we needed and was very homely and comfortable.
3 night stay AprMay 2021 at Limefitt Lodge what a find perfect ! . Lodge was beautiful, immaculate so tastefully decorated and homely everything on hand you needed for a stay. Family of 5, had a short break here ,monfri, in order to walk the surrounding area. The lodge was immaculate and immediately felt like a home from home. We loved the welcome gift. We brought our own doormats but there was a boot scraper, mats and great storage for all our muddy boots. All the rooms were cosy and comfortable and we loved the hot tub ,just what we needed after a hike up Scafell! The kitchen was stocked with everything you could ever need and was great for us making all our meals and packed lunches. Having a full size dishwasher was useful too. We also loved having two full size bathrooms and the bath was bliss to ease the aching muscles. Having access to the leisure centre was great too for the gym bunnies amongst us. The holiday binder was really helpful ,not only for information about the lodge and park but local walks too. Really enjoyed our stay and would love to return one day. Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 3 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 8 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 16 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 20 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 22 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 23 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
