The owners of Old Bell Works really went above and beyond to provide everything we could possibly need, in one of the most gorgeous and well equipped places we've ever seen. This cottage oozes with love and attention to detail, down to the little felt mice that are placed around various nooks and crannies for you to find while exploring the decor. Not a single thing was out of place or anything other than immaculate. The hot tub was hot and ready to jump in as soon as we arrived which we absolutely did, and didn't miss a single day without spending some time in it. Paula & Brian have done an amazing job and completely allowed us our privacy, just checking in via message to make sure we had everything we needed. I rented this fabulous cottage to escape the the hustle and bustle of life. . and i was not disappointed on arrival we had a lit log burner going cosy lights the cottage was warm and welcoming after a 12 hour drive. Fresh milk and juice and a whole hamper full of goodies to get us through breakfast was a doddle. The cottage its self was outstandingly beautiful immaculately clean and to say it was comfortable was an understatement.. with added perks a wonderful garden beautifully lit up at night and an amazing hot tub. The owners them selfs went above and beyond to ensure we had all we needed for our stay plenty of information on things to do around the area.. we took full advantage of the cottage and stayed in a couple of days it was just perfect i can not wait to re book i would 1000 recomend this little gem to any one. My party consisted of a wheelchair user a 6 month old baby teenagers and young adults and of course im about middle age

Absolutely beautiful cottage with the most amazing attention to detail, the extra touches are just phenomenal. This was our second stay and it was just as wonderful as the first! We had birthday banners set up and little birthday touches for my little girl and the welcome hamper was a wonderful treat. Paula goes above and beyond to ensure everything is perfect, 100 recommend! Hopefully well be back next year.

Absolutely fantastic property where everything has been thought of. Theres not one thing we could think of to make our stay any better. The house was immaculate and was even decorated for Halloween! Wow this is a truly beautiful cottage with fabulous hosts thank you Paula and Brian. The cottage is just so comfy, cosy, stylish they have literally thought of everything possible to make this a totally amazing place to have a holiday. The kitchen is very well equipped, the furnishings super comfy, beds and linen are amazing, fluffy towels, lovely toiletries, robes, sliders for going to the hot tub, dog blankets, log fire its utterly amazing!!! There are also so many gorgeous personal touches dotted throughout the cottage too which made us all smile look out for the brilliant felt mice

This house is a wee Gem! We loved it so much that we have booked another stay next year.

Fixtures and fittings were of the highest quality. You can tell the owners put their heart and soul into the conversion. Lovely welcome basket, and the owners on hand if needed. Bifold doors lead onto a huge enclosed garden with fabulous outdoor seating area and hot tub. Will definitely be back!

The garden area is amazing, the little touches inside the cottage were much appreciated. Owners live next door but you wouldnt know, but if you needed them they were there in a flash. Lovely quiet village. Perfect garden with great covered hot tub area. I would give it a 4 star plus.

We have stayed in alot of cottages etc in all parts of England, we can honestley say this was possibly the best, large, spacious, spotless, perfect position for seeing the northeast and lake district, garden huge dog loved it. Struggle to.find any negatives, welcome pack in kitchen on arrival. Will definitely return here, if we can get in as I imagine this property will become very popular. Great time had.

Absolutely stunning property, very high standard of furnishings and finishings. Has everything you will need and more. The garden is huge and fully enclosed which is perfect for dogs. There are also multiple seating areas in the garden to accommodate meals, chilling in the hot tub, or sitting under the tree at the bottom. Owners are wonderful as they are next door so if there is anything you need, they are there very quickly. The interior design is really good and throughout your stay you will keep seeing little touches that will make you smile. Log fire was toasty and you can buy extra wood too from the owners who will bring it to your door. On arrival you get a welcome hamper that is one of the most thoughtful and impressive ones that I have ever seen. All in all this property is 10 out of 10 and I can highly recommend. Little hidden gem! Amazing cottage. Everything was provided to make sure you have an amazing holiday. Paula was very helpful and friendly. The decor was very stylish and fit the cottage beautifully. No amount of words can describe how amazing this cottage is, you need to book! Great location, easy to get to a multiple of destinations we visited Scotland, the Lakes even Blackpool and St Annes. The cottage is perfect in every way, beautiful and comfortable. In fact the nicest cottage we have ever stopped in over many years. Ideal for a lovely holiday. The owners were accessible and helpful and friendly. There was only one downside for us. The hot tub wasn't available immediately and the temperature was set too low. It was set at 36 and rarely got above 35. The hot tub is the most important part of our holiday to relax, as we have very physical jobs. and we like to enjoy it at least once daily.

Beautiful, luxurious cottage

Just returned from this perfect in every possible way property. Husband and I stayed with 2 friends for 1 week of pure luxury, peaceful, tranquility. 3 king size comfortable bedrooms all with beautiful bedding, 2 bedrooms with fabulous walk in showers, 1 super king bedroom downstairs with bathroom across hallway. Decor very tastefully done and well thought out, every single thing you could think of available, even to providing robes and sliders for lovely undercover hot tub. Covered bbq area though we did not use and massive enclosed garden. Pet friendly too. Lovely log burner in lounge and under floor heating. Huge TV in lounge and TV?s in all 3 bedrooms. Fabulous fridge freezer, Huge oven and every piece of crockery; cutlery and glasses you could require. Owners kindly supplied us with goodies (tea coffee milk, crisps and biscuits) on arrival. Parking off road for 3 vehicles. Cannot rave enough about this gem of a property which is not far from Knott End where you can get the ferry to Fleetwood then a tram into Blackpool. Owners extremely obliging and helpful, thank you so much.

Fantastic cottage, great stay. Quaint little village, enjoyed that the accommodation was set back from the road and it felt really private even with properties nearby. The inside was flawless. Spacious bedrooms, great facilities like TV, kitchen, living room space etc. Enjoyed little touches like the bath robes and sliders for the hot tub. And the hot tub itself was fantastic appreciated that it was somewhat enclosed, kept its heat well etc. Overall, really enjoyed our time here and may well come back in future thanks very much for having us!

This cottage is beautiful very spacious but still with a cosy and welcoming feel. It's extremely tidy & clean with lots of lovely added extras including things like sliders for use by the hot tub, dressing gowns etc. We had a great stay there in November and would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a retreat only slight downside was part of the garden had flooded but understand this was being fixed after our stay. It's in a great location though with many nice nature reservesnational parks within a quick driving distance. Hosts are extremely friendly and accommodating too.

We had a fantastic few days last week, The Old Bell Works is PERFECT in every way, so comfortable, super stylish, spotlessly clean with a huge well kept garden, the hot tub was used daily and the log fire in the evening was the perfect end to the day. Fantastic location backing on to farmers fields for early morning walks with the dog and only half an hour of some truly wonderful spots! 1010 from us for sure, we will be back

Fantastic modern property built to a high standard Paula and Brian should be very proud. Every little comfort was taken care of. We were lucky to book this property shortly after it went live. Quite simply one of the best holiday rentals we have been in. It was furnished to an excellent standard and had every piece of equipment you would need. Welcome pack was a lovely touch. The addition of the hot tub was very welcome and a lovely place to relax. Very large, enclosed garden was a great space for the dogs to run around. The owners were excellent to communicate with and nothing was too much trouble. This will now be our go to place when we return to the area.

I went with my mum, my daughter her partner and my granddaughter Olive and also our two schnauzers! Jess and Ash loved the hot tub, I loved everything but especially the luxurious bedding on my super king size bed, the dogs loved the enormous fully enclosed garden! Such a gem of a find especially with a downstairs bedroom and shower room so ideal for a range of ages like us from a 1 year old to 86 year old! Perfect location for access to the lakes and the coast too. I would recommend to anyone, perfect hosts with an immaculate property thank you so much.

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals. Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area. Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos. At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed. Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH

Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction. With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun. You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.
