Bank Top Cottage Reviews

Michael
We really enjoy the cottage an facilites our only thing is all holiday cottages have very soft mattresses which is not good for anyone. The sofas look nice but not very comfortable for us.
This is the second time we have stayed at Bank Top. . ideal location with views to the sea with the owner making it easy access to the beach and the village.. Hot tub maintained to a high standard and the pool is the icing on the cake also maintained to a high standard lovely welcome pack. We had grandchildren visit us and the few toys went down a treat we will be staying at Bank Top again
The property was absolutely immaculate and spotless with everything you would need. The views were stunning from every window. Sitting in the hot tub felt luxurious with the breathtaking views of the fields, sea and castle and was again spotless. Loved the chickens...they were very friendly! Thank you for leaving the bread, butter, milk and juice...it was a lovely touch. Have already booked for next year! Can't wait to come back! Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Beautiful location to explore what Northumberland has to offer. Expertly cleaned, swimming pool was a bonus and views were stunning.
This was our third stay at Bank Top and the best yet. The cottage was pristine on arrival, and it was a lovely touch to have bread, milk etc there for us. Hot tub has the best view ever?, and was great to keep warm in as we rotated through the shower postswim. Had great games of cricket and football on the field, and enjoyed the easy access walks to Craster and Lower Newton. Just what was needed for us all, so thank you. Were already planning our return!
Just had a lovely stay in Bank Top cottage, Cant really fault it spotless and everything you want in a holiday cottage. . path to Embleton was great as it kept you away from the road Our hot tub was well maintained and the swimming pool was the icing on the cake.. One small niggle a smart TV would be good.
We stayed at Bank Top north farm cottages it was a beautiful location with unspoilt views, spotless, spacious, peaceful and quiet, lovely walks all around the area, would definitely return!
Bank tip provided a lovely base for our stay in Northumberland. The hot tub and pool were a big hit with the whole family. The only thing we missed was a smart tv in the evening. In this day and age, access to YouTube and other streaming service cues is essential for the younger people. This small addition would have perfected what is an excellent the property for us.

Extremely pleased with accommodation, facilities and presentation at Christmas.
Great Holiday. Cottage superb. Views beautiful. Mattress replaced to main bed. Slept much better. Negatives. No Pizza cutter or baking tray. Matches? Remember to bring your own . to light log fire. Mattress cover kept sliding off ! Main Bed. Confusion over Hot Tub. Next door Still using on Friday ,instructions indicated not to use??? Due to cleaning. Needs clarifying.
Our 4th stay at North Farm and the third at Bank Top Cottage. It's perfect for us. The location , views, amenities, everything is spot on. The cottage itself is spotless, comfortable, peaceful. This time we arrived to find some basic supplies bread, milk etc which was lovely. Sitting in the hot tub with the sea and the castle in view is brilliant. The chickens are a delight, and use of the pool is a great benefit. Food nearby at Dunstanburgh Castle Hotel, or the Joiners Arms, The Ship , all within walking distance and all excellent . Slightly further but reachable on a longer walk is the Jolly Fisherman at Craster. We've booked again . We can't think of a time when we won't return. If you are unsure I guarantee a walk on the stunning beach will see you returning to the cottage and placing a deposit for your next visit. If there was anything to change it would be to upgrade the TV to a smart TV, the DVDs are good but nowadays streaming is so much easier.
I think to label North Farm as luxury is quite a stretch. It is basic but clean. There were no matches, and only enough logs for one nights fire, there are no extra blankets for cooler nights, one toilet roll, not even a single washing machine tablet, no leaflets on things to do or see in the area, and my biggest annoyance is the crazy loud fridge, shattering the peace day in, day out. Definitely not luxury. Not having use of the hot tub on your last day is extremely disappointing. Sours what should be your last day of relaxation. The location is excellent. The cleanliness couldn't be faulted. But due to the factors listed, I'm not sure that we would return which is a shame because as mentioned, the location is great. I do also worry what impact the large building currently going up on site will have on the overall tranquility of the place.
Fabulous place to stay, clean , everything we needed, great information pack.

Absolutely beautiful cottage and perfectly situated. Just a few things that might make the stay more comfortable for future guests. The tap in the kitchen drips constantly after use and the double bed could use a new mattress. Other than that, we could not fault our stay. The walk down to the beach was beautiful. We would love to come back in the future.
Great place to stay. Very quite , good beaches close by.
Lesley
Really lovely cottages in a beautiful part of the country. Loved the pool and the traffic free walk to the beach
The mattress in the main bedroom wasn't very good, the worst we have seen and despite the luxury tag there was no welcome pack and the essentials were a minimum. The TV was tiny and it was annoying that we didn't use the hot tub as requested by owners for cleaning but it wasn't cleaned till the next day so we could have enjoyed the last night in our hot tub. The pool booking idea was lovely and the cottage itself was fantastic.
We loved the stay and the facilities for children were really fantastic but there were a couple of small things we felt could be improved. The curtains were very thin causing the kids to wake up very early black out blinds would be a great improvement. Also we found the quilts very thick for summer and would have liked some thinner sheets or blankets to be available. Also I think description of the walk to the beach was a little misleading as it was about 40 minutes with children and a little too far for them
Cottage location and facilities were excellent
Had an amazing time at North Farm, the facilities were brilliant, the location stunning, couldn't recommended it highly enough. Only tiny niggle was that the sofa cushions kept coming off, which was more annoying than it sounds, but couldn't fault anything else.
Michael
Absolutely Superb. Views were excellent. Animals Lambs kept us in laughter with their antics. Will certainly go back again.
Excellent booking service. The cottage is very well equipped and in a stunning location. Easy walk to the beach and castle. The cottage, swimming pool and changing rooms are immaculately clean The only downside to this cottage is that there is a chicken shed outside the twin bedroom and the Cockerels crow constantly from dawn, not what you want on holiday!.
Stuart
Lovely cottage and fantastic views, would highly reccomend anyone to visit!
Andrew
Great stay again. ..now the 3rd visit, however, as we have commented on before when asked, there is no welcome pack of any description. No flowers, no bread , no milk no sign of anything to welcome us to the property. We have had cateringhospitality experience and gave all the above plus a small decanter of Sherry in each room, chocolates, cakes etc! And charged a fraction of the price you do. Please please do something to make our stay more welcoming next time
Andrew
Simple to use low deposits and good communication. Also a wide range of properties. Can't fault them.
The ten minute walk to the beach was a little on the optimistic side unless you are Usain Bolt. Other than that an excellent property in a superb location.
Alyson
Overall a very lovely, clean and comfortable cottage with a stunning location and gorgeous sea views. The only slight issue we had is that there was no outside table and chairs. We had a bench which sat two people at a pinch and a child's size picnic bench. We had expected patio furniture to enable us to sit and eat outside and this would have made the cottage perfect for us. Having said that, this did not affect our fantastic stay in this beautiful cottage and we would return again.
I've already recommended this cottage to friends. It was wonderful in every way especially the hot tub!

The rhododendron labyrinth is a unique and fun addition to the grounds and there is also an adventure playground where children can let of steam. It is the stunning scenery that attracts most of the visitors though with many bringing a picnic for a relaxing family day out. The house itself hosts exhibits which change regularly. World of the Water Wizard is currently on display.
Conundrum Farm - EX5 3AQ
about 25 Miles
With easy access from the A1 this lovely farm just north of Berwick makes a fantastic family day out.  Follow the farm trail and meet an array of friendly farm animals.  Kids will also enjoy the indoor and outdoor play areas, pet barn and tractor circuit.  The admission fee is excellent value and you will get a free bag of food for the animals and a bag of fish food for the trouts in the fish pond. When you want a bite to eat, the licensed restaurant is the place to go with quality home cooking and a charming location in some of the converted farm buildings.
