We had a fantastic few days staying in Hishope Cottage its truly a beautiful area and place to stay with everything and more that youd need. Flowers and cakes on arrival really made us feel special and is a lovely welcoming touch. Jayne is not intrusive but friendly and helpful and we highly recommend this if you want to relax and unwind and enjoy nature at its best.

The cottage was beautiful. Clean, well equipped, comfortable and with a large enclosed garden for the dog. Has a wood burner for if it's chilly, and a separate, private enclosed area for the hot tub. The owner was lovely, she lit the hot tub so it would be warm for when I arrived. The cottage is on a farm and there are sheep just the other side of the wall, my small dog didn't bother about them. There were lots of nearby walks for the dog, and places to visit. It's a very quiet, peaceful area.

On our arrival we were greeted by a friendly hello from Jayne.We entered the Hishope cottage and greeted by fresh flowers, slices of lemon cake ,tea,coffee,sugar and fresh milk great start. The owner was really friendly and met us on arrival and welcomed us to the property while offering any support over our stay. Hisehope was comfy, homely, well equipped in a peaceful friendly environment, the cottage being on the same site as a farm did cause any issues (smells or noise) . It feels like you are miles from anywhere but there are lots of attractions within easy driving distance, Hexham, Adrain`s Wall, Vindolanda Roman excavations, Beamish, Gibside, just the few we visited. The log heated hot tub is easy to light and use, don't overheat it, it takes a long time to cool.

It is very spacious and comfortable and the addition of the little shop to make emergency purchases was very valuable indeed, given its fairly remote (but beautiful) setting. Jayne made us very welcome and there was a hot tub ready to use on our arrival. The large shared garden was gr eatly appreciated by our dog and she even had some friends to play with on a couple of evenings. It is one of the best cottages we have stayed in.

Beautiful cottage in a very peaceful location. The hot tub was a big plus. We travelled each day to various places of interest which at most were only half an hours drive away. We would highly recommend the Lanchester Garden Centre (15 mins away) with its brilliant restaurant, and the Beamish Outdoor Museum, which was amazing and takes a good 4-5 h rs to get round (half an hour away). Newcastle Metro centre was also only half an hour away. Or you can just chill in the cottage and go for walks.

Had a lovely stay in the Hishope cottage. The cottage was clean and modern with a traditional feeling, everything you could ask for. Lovely private hotub to the left of the property. It can take 3 hours to heat in the colder months which could be an issue if you're hoping to jump straight in after a day out but it wasn't a problem for ourselves. We took our dog and there are plenty of areas to visit if you are outdoorsy. Definitely recommend and would definitely return.

We have stayed in two cottages at Burnhill farm now and to us it is perfection. Opening the door is just like coming home. Everything you could need is supplied and all the extra little touches like the home made cake and dog treats make it that extra bit special.
