Fox View Cottage Reviews

Amazing cottage, very well equipped, clean and well maintained. Cant wait to go back. The 10 rating on recommendation is for the cottage not Sykes!
Jackie
We had a lovely week at Fox View Cottage. The weather was very wet but this didn't stop us getting out and about. Coming back to a warm lovely log burner and comfortable cottage was so welcomed. The cottage was so well equipped and lots of nice touches e.g bike shed, toys for the children and dog. The hot tub was a welcomed addition and used regularly by adults and children. The garden was very safe, small however, very adequate for a small dog and young children. Lots to do nearby at Kielder Water and Forest Park and a nice restaurant only a few steps away from the cottage. Lots of bike rides, walks right on your door step. If you are happy to drive a little further we would recommend South Tynedale Railway and Belsay Hall. A super clean and modern cottage for an active and relaxing family holiday.
Simone
This holiday cottage was fantastic. The cleanliness and attention to detail was second to none. It is very remote which we liked but had an excellent pub with good food nearby. We would definitely recommend for a relaxing get away from it all break

We met the owner who kindly brought a casserole dish with lid that we requested as there wasn't one available in the kitchen apparently broken by last quests. Kitchen equipment very good appliances easy to use. Did feel that the mugs glasses available were limited how 6 people would cope don't know as we soon run out of suitable items. Only cereal soup bowls available so no range of usual dishes bowls to put food salads in when preparing food. Outside top area through kitchen doors really unwelcoming with loose dirt stained paving slabs if redesigned it would have been far better to accommodate outdoor seating. Lower floor with better furniture better to have been on the top area. Hot tub owner says she will be removing? would be better if situated elsewhere we had no interest in it and thought it just took up space. hope that these comments can be taken constructively for future reference.
We had a gorgeous stay at Fox View. We couldnt have asked for more, it was perfect! The owner had left treats for the adults and children which were very much appreciated. Thank you for a lovely stay, we will be sure to book again next Christmas.

An absolutely stunning property in a beautiful location. So well equipped just needed oil and salt! You can tell the owners take a lot of pride in the property. Brilliant if you are spending a lot of time by kielder water but otherwise you do need to be prepared to travel. We did mini golf and walks at Kielder. We went to Newcastle for the day at James park tour which was amazing, some shopping and the national centre for childrens books . We had a day in Hexham and visited national trust cragside. You can have your shopping delivered from Tesco and make sure you fill your tank before getting into the wee villages.
A beautiful warm cosy property with all the facilities you could wish for and in a fantastic location so close to Kielder. Loved the hot tub and the views that came with it. We had three generations in our family holiday stay and we all loved it.

We really enjoyed our stay in Fox View Cottage. From the moment we walked in, we were blown away by how beautiful the cottage was and the surrounding viewscountryside. The kitchen was well stocked with all we needed and we really enjoyed using the hot tube. The local Pub The Pheasant is a very short walk away and serves delicious food we ate there twice!. There are also loads of lovely walks right from the front door, as well as a short drive to Kielder Water for more walks or bike rides. We would 100 recommend staying at Fox View Cottage.
We enjoyed our time there very much, gorgeous viewsnice local pubsgreat walks on the doorstep.
Superb cottage finished to a high standard. Great facilities.
Had a wonderful time there. There were just the 2 of us staying for a peaceful break. So ideal.Good position for travelling into Kielder or back towards Bellingham.Spent most of the time at the table having our meals and looking out to see the lush green view and listening to all the different birds.....saw buzzards, osprey, oystercatchers, amongst others. Travelled up to the Scottish Border that's as far North we got. If you want a peaceful, relaxing cottage to stay in I would recommend it.
Perfect choice in a beautiful remote location
Great property at a quiet location, perfect for a break away.
We had a lovely week at Fox Cottage. We arrived late due to unexpected snow to find the wood burner lit and the cottage warm and cosy a welcome surprise! Fox Cottage is beautifully furnished with every detail though of to make it a real homefromhome. The Pheasant Inn pub next door is a real treat booking essential and the surrounding area is breathtaking. We'd love to return when the weather is warmer to enjoy the outdoor area. A real gem!
Lovely property, great views, with some great touches from the owner, would go back tomorrow.
Absolutely fabulous holiday in Fox Cottage. Cant recommend it enough, beautiful location and wonderful accommodation.
A delightful, comfortable cottage with everything you need. The welcome hamper was exceptional as were the provision of toiletries etc. The recent introduction of the hot tub is a plus. I think Jill is an excellent host.

The bungalow was beautiful, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The WiFi was good. First holiday for us with a dog and this was made to feel very easy and welcoming by the inclusion of a welcome doggy corner. The gravel garden was safe and enclosed. A welcome human hamper was also most welcome. The location is perfect for a lovely quiet holiday with lots of walking locally. Nearest small local shops 8 miles away, larger supermarkets about 40min drive. A beautiful location. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend this bungalow to anyone, we would definitely are a return visit. Thank you for a wonderful week.
We have just returned from 7 day stay at Fox View Cottage . The whole cottage exceeded our expectations it was furnished to a very high standard. Excellent having 3 bathrooms so everybody had their own bathroom. 2 ensuite plus lovely roll top bath with spectacular views of the countryside The cottage was warm & inviting especially when the roaring log fire was lit in the evening. The walk up the hill opposite the cottage was great for our dog Ted especially in the mornings Perfect location to get away from everyday life & fully recharge your batteries in peace & tranquility. Plenty of different Walks around keilder water only a few minutes drive away. Some suitable for a mobility scooter especially keilder waterside visitors centre. Lindisfarne Holy Island & Beamish living museum both approx 1hr 30mins away & well worth a visit. Pub few minutes walk away but didnt use it as we had the dog with us. Lovely extra touches including welcome basket including cheeky bottle of Prosecco not forgetting a lovely welcome for Ted including dog bed towel & blankets, dishes treats & toys Ted will definitely be booking again. such attention to detail by the lovely owner Jill . It was all much appreciated & we will definitely be booking another stay.
Probably could do with more refrigeration space as some way from the nearest supermarket. We did have a problem with the hot waterheating on a Sunday morning however somebody arrived very quickly to resolve the situation. It was an ideal location for exploring the waterforest and the observatory.
We have just spent two weeks at Fox View Cottage. The cottage is situated in a lovely hamlet in the surprisingly beautiful Northumberland countryside. With stunning country walks with breathtaking views all around us , its been a perfect holiday for myself, my new husband , our 17 year old son and our little dog Pocket. This beautifully restored and well equipped bungalow style cottage has been both cosy and luxurious. We would definitely rent this cottage again.
Leanne
The cottage was absolutely beautiful and in a stunning location. The attention to detail and additional touches such as the welcome basket and dog bed, bowls and treats made us feel very at home.
