Cunliffe House Reviews

Our only concern was the difference in floor level from the kitchen to the rest of the house as the step is a lot higher than a normal step. Also if you were going to the downstairs bedroom or the stairs it was darker.
Great house and location
the house was fabulous well equipped comfy beds only thing was the WiFi we could not get on and the games room could do with a spruce up we had to clean the tables in there ourselves when arrived but still a fabulous house and location.
Jessica
A beautiful house located in a gorgeous picturesque setting. Fantastic amenities which made it perfect for our family getaway. We would highly recommend anyone to book this property.
Really enjoyed our stay, would certainly recommend to others. All the rooms were a decent size, nicely decorated and clean. Hot tub obviously a bonus too!
This house was perfect for our plans and we had a lovely week. We were impressed by the small touches that made us feel so welcome, a huge hamper of goodies, bathrobes, comfy beds etc. Our only suggestions are for some more crockery and cutlery teaspoons as we were in a constant dilemma whether to wash up or put on a half full dishwasher. We also would have liked to know how to segregate our rubbish to recycle, or if its not possible to have known whywe felt bad throwing such a lot in the general waste! Thank you
This is a wonderful property. Its in a beautiful location so peaceful and picturesque. The house has everything you could possibly want amenitieswise and the rooms are furnished very tastefully. We found it to be spotlessly clean and the welcome hamper was an added bonus. The hot tub is great, and the games room also added to the experience. We had a bit of an issue with ladybirds all over the front of the house on one of the days, such that we couldnt open the windows, but of course, thats not the fault of the house, just nature!! All six of us would love to return.
Gillian
A beautiful, extremely large house in a gorgeous location. Fully equipped and everything provided that we needed. Comfortable beds and the added luxury of a hot tub and games room. So much space and lots of bathrooms. Garden areas fantastic with plenty of different places to sit even if the weather is bad. Overall, a great place to stay and would highly recommended. Just a couple of things to point out Cellar door needs a lock, settees are a bit saggy and dated and cleaning not quite up to par we had to ask the guy that checks the hot tub to clean the games room it looked like it hadnt been cleaned in a while, quite a few old cobwebs around, not nice over the cooker and outside bin filled with flies.
A lovely house which matched the description and the photographs. Hot tub was just the right temperature, beds and sofas were comfortable, the orangery was a lovely place to escape to with a book. Although enclosed, the garden is far from secure as at one point the wall is only a few inches high. We therefore kept our dog on a lead when in the garden as we thought it likely he'd jump down to 'greet' walkers passing by. A peaceful location with just a short walk to the village and the very friendly Woolpack and post office.
Very comfortable place. Everyone slept well. Lovely spacious lounge. Jacuzzi was lovely after long walks and nice to have soft dressing gowns. Well equipped kitchen only issue is only one shelf in the oven. A lose paving slab was fixed the next working day. No welcome book.
Lovely place to stay. Comfy beds, all rooms beautifully presented. Thank you
We really loved Cunliffe House . It was spacious, had a beautiful outlook and surroundings. The welcome basket was great. We found it comfortable and the contact staff were very responsive and attended to any.problems . Just a few issues. Its billed as a luxury stay but lacks a few things that we would normally find in a more moderate property. So not enough bin bags, washing up liquid ,pan scrubbers etc. As we were in the property for 3 weeks we expected a clean at some point but that was not available. Again there were no cleaning products such as toilet cleaner, surface cleaner or even cleaning cloths which we had to buy. Also we were happy to sort our refuse into recycling and non recycling rather than put all the rubbish in together so maybe another bin in the kitchen for recycling. All the above withstanding it is a super property in an ideal location for walking and sightseeing.
Lovely, spacious, well equipped property. Picturesque setting. Definitely recommend
Kerenza
House is lovely but comfort is let down by dreadful beds and sofas in need of replacement.
Christine
Had a fabulous time house is lovely and well equipped, needs a tin opener that works and possibly some cover over the hot tub area. But apart from that highly recommended
Dorothy
Lovely house and setting. Tastefully decorated. House was bitterly cold when we arrived. Being a big house it took a bit of time to heat up. Once heated though it was cosy and plenty of hot water. Upstairs beds with double mattresses were so high and a bit saggy. Showers in baths, as stated before, could do with a hook so you can stand up and have a shower. No hanging space in some of the bedrooms. Could do with hooks in the utility area for wet coats. All appliances worked. Table tennis table could do with upgrading. Yes, next door yard was full of solar panels and other dumped waste. But being winter we were not outside too often. Great place for large group. Just needs a few little extras.
Hy. We had a lovely stay in Cunliffe House over Christmas. But did find just a few little things that we were not aware of before booking. The main one the step from the kitchen to dining area & step to bottom of the stairs. We booked this property with my elderly parents with it having a downstairs bathroom & bedroom. But unfortunately the step as it is the width of the kitchen so no rail to use became a problem. We checked the details again and checked pictures but could not see any step or any mention of it. Saying this the rest of the property is fine. So we used the upstairs bedroom with onsuite for me mum & dad. So then my daughter & husband used the downstairs bedroom but unfortunately no wardrobe so lived out of a suitcase for the week. The pool table side was off as it obviously didnt work properly so the balls just sat underneath and the shoot they come down is quite sharp when you are trying to retrieve the balls. Only a minor problem Saying this we all had a lovely stay and scenery is second to none. We had lovely walks and comfortable furniture. The hot tub was lovely nice & warm and in a great place to view the scenery as the sun is going down. The beds were comfortable but very high not sure why 2 mattress are needed. The shower was lovely and hot if just a small cubicle. Would i go back to Cunliffe House yes I would but obviously not with anyone who has any sort of walking aids or sight difficulties. I loved the area and im sorry i had to mention the downsides of the property but im sure they can be easily rectified even if only mentioned to make others aware. Iv already booked another sykes holiday for next Christmas so definitely not put us off
The house itself is great, very spacious, nicely presented, and the kitchen is well stocked cafetiere, tea pot including for loose leaves, handheld soup blender, small food processor, various utensils and traysdishes. The fridgefreezer is large and there is plenty of worktop to get on with cooking. A useful thing to know if bringing a dog or toddler or both is that the stairs can be completely shut off by the doors, making it easy to keep a toddler downstairs, or your dog downstairs as requested. The travel cot was a good size and in good condition, as was the high chair thank you. The location is great, and there are lots of things to do within a 40 minute radius. There are some lovely dog walks straight from the property, one is the footpath that runs past the house, the other is just up in the forest behind the pub. We really enjoyed our stay here and the house was very quiet and relaxing for the most part. The only downside is that the property is adjacent to some sort of dumping ground behind and to the left, and on several occasions during the week, large white vans would turn up and dump loads of stuff into this waste land. This was a bit jarring to an otherwise lovely house and spot. A thing to note for any large groups, while there are 4 bathrooms, the two with a bath do not have a shower mounted on the wall even though one of these bathrooms has a shower screen added to the bath, so the only proper showers are in the ensuites, so if you are not in one of those rooms, there is no good option for a shower. It didn't affect us, but it could easily be fixed by just adding a mount for the shower to the other two bathrooms.
Wonderful place to stay. Comfortable, well furnished and wellequipped. Plenty of space, light and airy, lovely quiet setting. Great games room. Would highly recommend.

What can I say other than wow! We thought the house was going to be nice from the pictures and description, but when we arrived we were blown away by how beautiful and magical it is, the photos certainly do not do the house justice. It was spacious but cozy and very comfortable, the facilities were great and we loved all the extras like the bar and games room and hot tub. The welcome pack and all the little touches like dressing gowns and hairdryers in every room etc. made it even better. We were there for a week celebrating my 50th birthday and the house and enviroment contributed to it being a very special celebration. The location is lovely as well, the village is beautiful and the woolpack pub was a few minutes walk away and definatley became our little local where we sat and chatted with friendly people both local and from a far. Amazing property that wewould highley recommend and would love to return to.
Lovely house with some great walks, town center just round the corner so always something to do
We had a fantastic break at Cunliffe Hse, and will recommend to everyone. The house is spacious, the kitchen well stocked with saucepans and plates etc , it was very clean and provided us with everything we wanted and more. In fact the website undersells what was provided, as the welcome pack was lovely, the dressing gowns for hot tub were a lovely touch, and having the games rooms with darts and pool gave us a really fun evening. Our break corresponded with a heatwave which clearly helped, but we will be looking to come back again.
Absolutely outstanding property, imaculately clean, the only sad thing was we wish we had booked a longer stay, fabulous family getaway, the teenagers loved the games room, thank you Helen for the welcome basket which was a lovely touch and very generous, can't wait to return. Lisa

We had a fabulous time in Cunliffe House this weekend. The property is beautiful, private and peaceful and the location is stunning. The games room was amazing and a great feature for a family getaway. The only feedback I could offer is a lock on downstairs bathroom, a fridge in the games room bar and possibly blackout blinds for the bedrooms but only because I'm used to a darker bedroom. A beautiful house the photos online don't do it justice! and somewhere I would absolutely visit again.
Cuncliffe House was AMAZING. A great location for a family get together. Nicely positioned within walking distance of the Woolpack. The layout was fantastic and the touches of the table settings and welcome basket really made the weekend special. Already planning a return visit
Sandra
Thoroughly enjoyed our mini break in this gorgeous home. Photos dont do it justice, its so lovely. It is very well stocked and there were 5 of us and plenty to do in the area. The younger ones took the train to Leeds 15 min journey from Guiseley, which is just a few mins away. Esholt is very pretty and we even managed a drink at The Woolpack. However, that could do with a bit of tlc from the landlords! Great photos inside of times past in Emmerdale though, which we loved. Will definitely return to Cunliffe House and the truly lovely Helen, who was so welcoming. Truly wanted to stay longer. 5 Stars all round. Well done!
Stephen
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay Thanks Helen for all the little extras Regards Steve Doncaster
Beautiful house great facilities extremely spacious. Great fun in the games room and fab views from the hot tub
Graham
The welcome basket was a lovely thought. The cottage and views were beautiful and it was so quiet. Would be happy to return and recommend to family and friends but some of the matresss may need to be replaced.
Lovely location, just the job for a family weekend. A few very minor problems sorted straight away. Lovely furnishings and nice garden. Well equipped and plenty to do in the area.
Michelle
It was a perfect place for a perfect holiday for the 8 of us. The welcome pack and dressing gowns were a lovely touch. The only thing we could say was the mattress in the master bedroom probably needs replacing as it felt like it went up in the middle and made it feel like you were rolling out of it so not very comfortable. We also had a barbecue about 7pm but the lighting in that area wasnt good so had to use torches. A fridge in the bargames room would possibly be a benefit
Graham
Fantastic stay and better than the photos! Would have booked to stay again but prices have jumped massively.
Stunning property, amazing location, beautiful surroundings, so comfortable and stylish and just lovely
Jacqui
Just returned from a lovely weekend at Cunliffe House. The house was amazing, beautifully presented, five star accommodation. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. The location is stunning. The Woolpack pub is worth a visit and you will receive a warm welcome.
Absolutely brilliant weekend away, everthing you could possibly need was in the cottage. Lovely generous welcome hamper. Games room was a good bonus. My Dads 70th birthday weekend was amazing.
Andrew
We had a lovely time at Cunliffe House, the property has great facilities for a family to relax and occupy themselves even when the British weather doesn't cooperate. A couple of the King Size bed mattresses were very firm and proved difficult to get a relaxed nights sleep on.
What an amazing time away we had at Cunliffe House. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch and the views are great. This place is situated in the perfect location for walks etc. As we went to Thruscross Reservoir for a beautiful walk. The games room was a great bonus and obviously the hot tub. Overall a fantastic property in a brilliant location, we would definitely return!
