About The Long View

An outstanding, detached farmhouse with panoramic views over sweeping valleys stretching for miles. This spacious house provides welcoming and stylish accommodation within its own fifteen-acre grounds.

Perfect for families, this beautiful house promises a peaceful stay all year round. It is secluded and excellently appointed, and includes its own hot tub that rests in a walled garden enjoying 360 degree views over quiet valleys and dramatic open moorland, rich in wildlife.

Enter through an impressive hallway, with sweeping stone steps and flagstone floors. Sit and relax with a glass of wine in one of the two separate sitting rooms, with large comfortable sofas, exposed beams and a wood burning stove to warm those cooler nights.

The centre-piece of the house is a huge open plan kitchen and dining area, featuring a dining table which seats the entire party, as well as a leather chesterfield sofa and a cosy wood-burning effect, electric stove. The kitchen is full of character with granite counter tops, A-framed beams and a classic, modern four oven electric AGA range cooker.

There is a further stunning en-suite king-size bedroom, as well as a bedroom with king-sized mahogany sleigh bed, and two stylish twin rooms. There is a lovely family bathroom with separate shower and roll-top bath.

Wake up to the glorious scenery, then wander outside to take in the landscape in its entirety, whilst you relax on one of two patio areas, or enjoy a warm soak in the hot tub. Quiet footpaths trail through the valley, where deer, owl and pheasants potter, and guests will find plenty of pretty, secluded spaces perfect for picnics.

The Long View Reviews

Charlotte
Lovely house, with amazing views, extremely well equipped and Sarah the owner is lovely, would definitely recommend. Perfect for a family holiday.
Caitlin
We had a brilliant stay at The Long View as a group of 15. Sarah was very welcoming and extremely helpful throughout our stay. The house is BEAUTIFUL! We had plenty of space and privacy. Everything was perfect and I would love to stay again in the future. Thank you Sarah! X
A stunning property with excellent facilities and wonderful views. A perfect location for a familyfriends get together. During my stay a fuse blew which resulted in a loss of water pressure. The owner dealt with the issue very quickly and efficiently. I highly recommend this property.
Esther
Absolutely fantastic stay at The Longview for my sister in law to bes hen party. The house is amazing, hot tub an excellent extra and the rain never stopped us. Owners extremely helpful. Would recommend.
Alayne
Beautiful, historic farmhouse in a wonderful location. Very helpful, friendly owner.

Contact with the rental company, Sykes, was almost impossible. Their emails were marked do not reply to this email. Their web site did not give a contact telephone number nor an email address. Poor customer relations! Contact with the owner herself was excellent, once Sykes had given me her contact details. She was able to answer all of our questions. The owner, Sarah, was lovely. Very helpful indeed. My wife left her Kindle behind and Sarah found it and posted it back to us without any hesitation. The cottage, The Long View, was magical. Really, really nice. We were there to celebrate my daughter's wedding at Gibson's Mill and the cottage coped extremely well with all of the wedding party. Even the track to the cottage, which had worried me, turned out okay. We were able to get an 18 seater minibus, a Sainsbury's delivery van, and a low slung Jaguar sports car up to the cottage without any problem! Thoroughly lovely cottage. I am recommending it to all our friends!
Wow! What a house! We stayed here during the August bank holiday weekend and had the best time. The property really does have the wow factor, from the drive up, to the views and the hot tub! Would definitely recommend this house for a large group booking. There was 12 of us and we had plenty of space and the bedrooms were so comfy. Would 100 recommend! Thanks for a great stay x
The drawback with this property, is the access. You must drive up a very narrow track for one mile, to get to the house. With some parts of the banks are overgrown in places, causing scratches our cars paint work.
With 8 adults and 3 young children the house had so much space for everyone to relax, play and enjoy.
Fab hosts, lovely secluded location with lots to see and do in a short drive or walk. Would highly recommend.

Great property, well equipped, clean and fantastic staff we had a really good stay at Longview
Fabulous property, excellent advice from the owner where to visit with children during these strange Covid times. The weather was fabulous, only ask would be some comfy outdoor seating.
The LongView was perfect for large family or group reunions.

Really nice house and perfect for my mums hen party
We had a great time celebrating my 40th with 10 people. Plenty of room. Views are amazing!
Brilliant place and lovely owner. We were there when Storm ciara hit and the weather was extreme but Sarah made sure we were ok and didn't need anything

We celebrated my husbands 30th birthday at the Long View. What can I say!? The pictures of this house do not do it justice. We were made to feel super welcome by Sarah who was waiting for us on arrival. There was absolutely everything you needed for a stay and more. The hot tub was a lovely added bonus even in the windrain. Every room was finished to the highest standard with plenty of room for our 13 guests. We will definitely be back!
9 of us stayed at The Long View at the end of November, and every single one of us has agreed it's a fantastic place! Walking in, we were all wow'ed by the architecture, and how big the place was. There is 2 sitting rooms, and a very large dining room which meant we were able to host feasts which went down a treat. The host Sarah was more than accommodating, and on arrival we were greeted with a lovely hamper which had some prosecco and much needed the next morning some coffee. The rooms were lovely, and decorated tastefully and modern. We all agreed the beds had ridiculously comfy mattresses. The hot tub was a massive win, and there was even a friendly cow that we liked talking to. Hebden Bridge itself is jampacked with rustic bars and restaurants. Most of these were dogfriendly, so we had a great time there too.
It is the most amazing house with fantastic views. We had an excellent holiday. Particularly good for a large gathering, especially if keen walkers. Meeting the owner was much appreciated. For those people who haven't been there before it is not the easiest place to find. The directions sent by the owner were much clearer than those sent by Sykes.

This was exceptional value for money, the location was great but when we arrived we were blown away. The rooms are amazing and well decorated, there was a welcome basket. The hot tub was the icing on the cake and was lovely to spend some time in at midday. Local pub was 1520 mins walk and the area was rife with walking spots. 1010 would recommend. Sarah, the owner, was extremely kind and helpful whenever we had contact. Thank you again!
Rachael
We had an absolutely lovely week at The Long View everything we needed was supplied, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the hot tub was amazing!
Francesca
The Long View was simply amazing! It was perfect for the large party of ladies that I had booked for my sisters Hen Party. The kitchen and dining area was perfect for a large group, and there was plenty of room for us all in the lounge areas. The beds were super comfortable and although it rained heavily all weekend, we still made it to the hot tub outside! The views are stunning and although there is a very long rural track up to the house itself, we had no issues whatsoever booking taxis to transport the 14 of us to and from Hebden Bridge, even at 10pm on a Saturday night! I have already recommended The Long View to two other parties that are looking for Hen Party venues. It was just fantastic. We all agreed that if we won The Lottery we would buy a home just like it!
Sharon
Family group holiday. Fantastic time and weather did not disappoint. Excellent facilities. Breathtaking views from the hot tub. Very helpful owner and easy to contact. Would definitely be visiting again.
Fantastic property, equipped with everything you need, fabulous location & extremely welcoming & helpful owner. Perfect way to celebrate a 50th & 60th birthday!
Our extended family had a wonderfully relaxing stay at The Long View. The house had everything we needed and more the hot tub and games cupboard proved to be an added bonus with the younger family members. The views are stunning and there were lots of walks to enjoy from the property. A real home from home, we would definitely recommend staying here.
Lauren
We had a fabulous time! The house is amazing and a great place to celebrate with friends and family. It's set in beautiful surroundings and the view from the hot tube is stunning! The beds were super cosy and comfy, with the master bedroom bed big enough to lay horizontal! The dining area is great for getting together perfect forour afternoon tea! We will definitely be back again. Thanks Sarah
Esther
The Long View is an amazing place to stay for a group. Just back from my hen weekend and everyone thought it was fantastic. Little details like welcome messages, fab ampstereo to plug music into and the hot tub...well that was fantastic. The weather was not kind but it didn't stop us being able to enjoy the views or the facilities. The owner provided all the operating info for the Aga, hot tub and other things. She popped around to check we were happy and was extremely helpful on the run up. There is also plenty of parking. The lane up does go on longer than you might think but directions were great. All the bedrooms were super comfy and spotless. We didn't want to leave!
Richard
Stayed for a 40th Birthday weekend and the house was perfect! We have stayed in quite a few different houses over the years and this was definitely one of the nicest. We loved the hot tub with the views over the hills. The stereo was a really nice bonus too. There is a good chance we will be back for another stay as everyone had such a good time. Would highly recommend.
Darren
This property is a lovely, comfortable family home from home with some breathtaking views. You'll not see any better views from a hot tub than this. Hebden Bridge is a fabulous little town not too far away from the cottage. Amazing location for any walkers. Loved everything about this luxury cottage

Absolutely stunning property, finished to a very high level of comfort and quality. Very friendly owner who provided assistance and communication throughout the process. Would love to stay there again!
Nicola
The Long View was absolutely amazing! It met every need we had and Sarah the owner was absolutely lovely and on hand if we needed anything! Can't recommend staying here enough! Great place, would love to return!
Danielle
Stayed here for the weekend with a group of friends and couldn't have asked for a better time. The house was absolutely beautiful and fabulously equipped had everything we needed. Location was stunning beautiful views and lovely walks. Had a great pub lunch at the New Delight Inn. Hot tub was great even in gale force wind! Sarah was a great host and very helpful. Thank you so much for such a lovely stay we would recommend this stay to anyone and would love to come back!
Cottage was absolutely stunning and the pictures do not do it justice. Absolutely amazing. The owner is lovely too, she called round and answered any questions we had. The cottage is literally in the middle of no where but it is well worth it. The views are amazing. Roads getting to cottage are very steep and windy but again worth it once you enter the cottage. 5 bathrooms, 6 bedrooms, one huge kitchen, 3 seating areas, a beautiful log fire which was amazing. You do get wood included in the price and WiFi! There are some horses just opposite which will come and say hello to you. And the owner was only at the other end of the phone when we needed her. If youre thinking of booking get it done you will not regret it!
The house was beautiful, we had a great time, the views were fantastic, would love to go back.
All previous reviews are accurate regarding the exceptional standard of the property. Hot tub amazing and used by us whilst snow on the ground. Sarah, the owner, very friendly and responds quickly to queries. 12 adults stayed for 3 nights and all said they would highly recommend using the property again.
Caroline
