The Log Cabin Reviews

Andrew
This is a fantastic little lodge, comfortable, scenic and lovely walks if you can get yourself out of the tub! Plan to stay there, BBQ, take food etc and just relax. No need to drive anywhere with Scammadale within easy reach. Great for cold water swimmers in the river 150m away and Scammadale.
We arrived a little early at the Cabin not a problem as cleaner had been in . Gordon gave us a warm and friendly welcome with his dog and ran through the whole process quickly The cabin is exactly as we expected small but perfectly comfortable in a fantastic setting in lovely well kept grounds two mins walk from the river and about 15 mins drive from Oban there is a River lodge and House that are let out too but we never saw not heard a sole The Cabin although small was perfectly adequate good shower, cooker ,sofa and everything needed for comfortable few days away supplied The hot Tub was a t the side of the property and was lovely on acokd winters night The log burner was great to really heat up the cabin on the cold winter nightsthere are another two heaters and Gordon even restocked the firewood on last evening as we'd had it on a lot lol Water was checked regularly by Gordon along with hot tub etc We will definitely return in the future as it was just what we wanted a relaxing break with a wintry Xmas feel Thanks again and see you again soon Thanks so much for a wonderful stay Kevin & Gwenda

The location and the property were perfect for our honeymoon, we couldn't have asked for a better location. Gordon the grounds keeper was incredibly friendly and helpful no matter what the issue was.

Our second time here at glen euchar log cabin and we will definitely be back. Just what we needed for a break away from our busy hectic lives. Always a friendly greeting from Gordon and his doggos!

This is a magical cabin In beautiful surroundings. It is so tranquil. The hot tub is amazing & great to chill in & the cabin itself is so cozy with the wood burner. The only constructive criticism is regarding lack of any place to store your clothes. Theres no wardrobe or bedside cabinetdrawer. There is a cupboard but it has games in it. Theres space for drawers to be proved under the bed. We lived out of a small suitcase & bag for 3 days. Other than that we loved it & would definitely come back.

Lovely Holiday,Peaceful. Just what we wanted.Gordon with his dogs lovely. But need more of a slbbed Path to Hottub,Bigger Towels, and a change of towels, once a week.
What a fantastic little place out of the way but close enough to shops and ... What a fantastic little place out of the way but close enough to shops and touristy places The hottub was welcomed after a day out and watching the wild birds eating their fill from the feeder made our days We even had a few visitors to say hello , two of Gordon's dogs Hope to be back soon

It was our second stay here, we still love it. A new bed since last year which was great but meant you lost a drawer under the bed for storage, so a little short on places to unpack clothes. It's a lovely comfortable cabin and although close to a road, it feels like you are in secluded spot. The hot tub is amazing, lovely to relax in after a day out. Plenty of places to visit nearby and some stunning scenery. We had no issues but know that Gordon is only a phone call away, and we often saw him busy in the surroundings. The shower is great and decent wifi with DVDs, games etc to use if needed. Definitely recommend.

Absoloutely magical little place , stayed for 3 nights and loved it so much that we've booked again for may , for a full week , loved the hot tub and log burner such a cosy wee place in stunning surroundings. Cant wait to return .
Absolutely wonderful week long stay . Gordon was most helpful and friendly . Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday .
Gordon
Cabin was everything we expected. Clean, tidy, and lovely surroundings. Hot tub water checked every day. Great wee break.
An amazing wee cabin located in an amazing location, very well kept, great wee stove that was well stocked with firewood, there was everything we needed and we would be back again in a heartbeat, but please please replace the bed, the springs are coming through and you can feel them when lying on the bed, the bed creeks and needs replaced as well. my wife has had a sore back from sleeping in the bed and on the last night she slept on the little couch as it was more comfortable than the bed.
An absolute magical stay in every sense. We arrived to a Twinkling Christmas tree, as well as Gordon, and his lovely dog, Carid. Amazing stat, facilities absolutely top notch. The spa? Outstanding. We'll definitely be back!

Absolutely loved my weekend away! Beautiful and homey little cabin and the hot tub was amazing! Will definitely be back
A fantastic hide away.

We had the best week holiday here! Gordon and his dogs are lovely. The kitchen has everything you need, the selection of CDs, books and DVDs are great and the bed was comfy, had a week of excellent sleep. The cabin is in an excellent spot, close enough to Oban for cafes and shops etc. But far enough out to be away from all the hustle & bustle and able to enjoy the views, we had excellent weather! We had a clear night and could see the stars so clearly, even the milkyway! We will definitely recommend and be coming back.
Utterly stunning place, we will be booking again for next year for sure! Gordon and his dogs are great and really helpful but genuinely, we cannot say enough how much we enjoyed our stay.

We loved our stay at this gorgeous cabin in the woods. Considering it's a wooden cabin it was very clean, the cleaner does an amazing job, even the random metal and glass shelving unit hung high up on the wall was clean. Couple of water stains on some walls as mentioned in a previous review, but we thought that was to be expected, it is a wooden cabin in the woods, in Scotland, where there us a lot of rain after all, but even with them it was clean. We read a few negative reviews about the bed, and on getting in it on the first night, we thought this is a bit creaky and much too soft, but we had a week of some of the best nights sleep ever. The kitchen is very well stocked with all you could need. There are DVDs , books and games there if needed, we didn't use them, but seemed a decent selection. We were lucky with the weather so didn't need the heating or log fire, but it's there if needed. The hot tub is fabulous, a lovely place to chill out in. The brown water takes some getting used to , we ended up buying bottled for drinking and cooking because it's so off putting, even though we knew it gets tested. Lovely views all around and a couple of bird feeders outside kitchen window, that I kept topped up with seed, so had some lovely visitors, Robin's, wrens, coal and blue tits, and quite a few chaffinches. Gordon was friendly and helpful and at the end of the phone if needed, with the added bonus of a couple of lovely dogs that visited and went straight in the pond in front of the cabin. There is a road near the cabin as mentioned in a few reviews, but we can honestly say it didn't bother us in the least, you get used to the traffic noise, and you cant see it except for occasional flashes of the tops of cars through the trees at the side of the cabin. But it comes in handy for services getting to the cabin. The only slight thing that would make it a touch more user friendly would be somewhere to hang stuff, there are lots of shelves, but because no ironing board or iron, I had to hang a few dresses and things on shelving brackets near the sofa, so they got in the way a bit, and also somewhere at the hot tub to hang towels or dressing gowns. But that's all, we loved it and can't wait to go back. There is some stunning scenery all around and it's the ideal place to relax.
The cabin is nice and thought has clearly gone into what guests will need for their stay. Unfortunately the location of the cabin next to a pond, whilst picture perfect, made for an unbearable stay due to high numbers of midges that easily infiltrate the cabin meaning there is no escape from endless bites.
A beautiful location. Gordon was very welcoming and helped us with anything we needed.
Well appointed and managed. You have to accept pine martens nibbling your toes and Gordon's dogs wrapping themselves around you after they have been in the pond. Nice area and Atlantic Bridge and pub nice. Beware the one way system in Oban, a wrong turn and you will find yourself in a narrow maze and 500 feet above looking down into the harbour.
What a beautiful setting. The cabin is remote and is set among nature. The pond is beautiful. Visitors have put up bird feeders, and it was like being in a bird hide. The wood burning stove and the electric heaters made the cabin cosy. There was every kitchen utensil we needed. The cooking area was clean and there were new washing up cloths. There was plenty of hot water and a good shower. The bed could be a little more comfortable. There is an amazing vegan cafe 4 miles south at Kilmelford.
100 perfect. We'll be back
Loved our stay at the cabin and look forward to visiting again we are even considering booking for our honeymoon after the wedding in July this year.

One of the most relaxing breaks we have ever had, couldnt have asked for any more, ideal chill out space yet great location for travelling to the likes of Glencoe etc, will be back thats for sure.
We try to stay here every February after getting engaged at the property back in 2015, its still a beautiful property in a stunning part of the world, and the recent addition of the hot tub has made it even better! Gordon who manages the property, and your stay is incredibly friendly and helpful, always on hand if needed, but certainly not intrusive! A credit to the place, and his recent build at River Lodge is incredible, a testament to his skills! We will 100 be back again, it's like a home away from home.
Lovely lodge in a quiet location amazing for couples. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a romantic and relaxing get away.
The log cabin was absolutely perfect. The location is exceptional, surrounded by beautiful scenery. The log cabin itself had everything we needed and was even more cosy than I expected, with the hot tub located just steps from the cabin, I didn't want to leave. Gordon was on hand to help with advice on places to visit and couldn't have been more helpful. We will definetly be returning to this idyllic cabin.
Jonathan
Gordon is absolutely lovely and really makes the experience. He cannot do enough for you without being overbearing. Will definitely be booking this again as me and my partner loved our time away.
Claire
This place is a hidden gem, nothing should be changed the cabin is perfect for a hideaway getaway well most definitely be returning.
The outside space is fab. But inside needs some updating. Stains on mattress cover and duvet. Too much clutter it sleeps 2 and there were 4 frying pans and lost count of pots at 6. Not a matching glass and dishes piled in cupboard. I feel sorry for the cleaner of this property as must be a nightmare to clean. Too much stuff books, CDs candle holders I thought this all should be removed because of COVD? Gordon was nice and had a nice welcome. This property needs updated and thoroughly cleaned.
Richard
Gordon is a lovely chap. All the grounds are beautiful, love all the nature, wildlife and seclusion. The cabin itself is 'rough around the edges', but honestly that did nothing but add to the whole experience. Sometimes places can go overboard trying to make things too comfortable, but the cabin being just the way it is really adds quaintness, and character to every moment spent there. Any expansion to the cabin I believe should be kept within the parameters already set, it really is lovely.
The cabin is petite, but well equipped we were very happy there for the week. Whilst we were there it was warm enough to sit out to eat which helped if it had been colder, a foldaway table and chairs inside would have been handy thought the lap trays were great. Cabin is really cosy inside. Loved the hot tub, and was visited by nuthatches and tree creepers running up the canopy supports and nearby trees! The pond and grounds are lovely we saw red squirrels, and we think we were visited by the pine marten at night. Others have noted that its actually quite near to a road it is, but we were not bothered by that at all we live in the countryside so are used to quiet the trees screen much of the noise and its quiet enough, especially at night. Despite being so close to the water we had nil midges which was a relief!. Its in a great location well connected, easy to get into Obanferries, and lots of beautiful places to visit in the area. Finally, the chap who keeps the grounds and his lovely dog were very welcoming and looked after us well.
The accommodation was perfect for a romantic getaway. Gordon was a fantastic host. It was so peaceful and quiet and was exactly what we were looking for.
It is just as it shows in the pictures amazing
Lovely comfortable log cabin set in beautiful grounds. Location excellent for exploring the surrounding area. Exceptionally clean with friendly host who met us on arrival. The only downsides were the main road which is very close to the cabin and noisy and the squeaky bed! If you don't mind the sound of traffic, it is ideal.
Florentina
This place is a piece of haven, a lot of quiet and amazing view. Thank you
