Everything about Platinum 1 is perfect, especially the cave where we sat in the evening watching the sea and the birds. The location is stunning. There are a number of walks from the lodge all of which are stunning.

Fantastic lodge, very well equipped and exceptionally clean. Truly Beautiful setting, we absolutely loved it, was very sad to leave! We ate at Mr Pooks in Castle Douglas, worth a visit. Also a little gem, the Auchencairn community shop, we had a good toastie there one lunchtime and they also fish and chips on a Monday. Worth messaging them as they do other takeaway nights, and its only a few minutes up the road. Dont forget to do the Raiders road Forrest drive! Lots of places to stop!

The bedroom was very comfortable and we loved having a dressing room. Our only disappointment was that these lodges are fully booked until November, however, we had no hesitation in re-booking for March 2023.

Fantastic location, amazing accommodation. Cabin and hot tub was immaculate. We had a lovely, relaxing weekend for our wedding anniversary. Cabin has everything you could possibly ever need. Lots of thoughtful extras and everthing is of the highest of standards. You can really tell the owners have gone above and beyond with presentation and upkeep. We have stayed in quite a few cabins and this is by far our favourite. My only complaint would be having to leave this little gem of a place.

Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.

Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Ideal for families with younger children ,this family oriented farm park has lots of animals to meet and also offers Donkey Rides, Paddle Boats and Slides as well as Trampolines and Bouncy Castles. Kids can run around on the Soft Play Area while mum and dad relax in the Tea Room. There is also a Farm Shop onsite selling toys, gifts and fresh local produce including cakes and jams. Seasonal activities can also be enjoyed including a spookly tea and walk on Haloween. The Farm closes for the winter on October 31st.

We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".
