The website does not do justice to the place. Plus there were plenty of brouchures and information leaflets about local areas. Owners were vey discrete. The quality and standard of equipment and fittings was 1st class. We were also allowed in early which helped. i do not normally take time out to do these surveys.

The location is beautiful, right on the waterfront where we saw a variety of birds and a seal. And deer right next to the lodge in the mornings. Highly recommended

We had an excellent holiday in Lodge Platinum Four. It was very clean and comfortable. A big appeal of this lodge is its isolation and tranquility , surrounded by exquisite nature with views and accompanying sound of the sea. We plan to return again next year.

Amazing week away in Platinum 4. A home away from home (plus a hot tub), the equipment is all there for you, right down to the cupboards being stocked with any cleaning or kitchen essentials! The view was incredible and the area around about was all gorgeous. Castle Douglas is only a 20 minute drive away if you fancy some retail therapy in its stor es or need a top up of supplies. My girlfriend and I were already planning our next visit to here next year. Amazing holiday, would highly recommend

What a piece of heaven in this location of rascarrel bay, it is absolutely beautiful, and so peaceful and quiet, the lodge was ideal to sit and watch the sea and birds from the little decked area, the lodge was impeccably clean as well as the hot tub that was checked and topped up every morning by the owner who was lovely and keen to help with anyt hing we may have needed, she left us a nice welcome of fresh cut flowers, a bottle of wine coffee and biscuits which was a nice touch, lots of walks.

Just spent a week in the Platinum 4 Lodge. The main thing for us was a good secure area for our dog. The enclosed patio was superb for him. No chance of him getting loose and he could see everything going on nearby. The lodge is immaculate and the location stunning. We couldn't have asked for a more peaceful week. Spent many an hour just chilling i n the sun during the day after walks in the morning. Kipford, Kirkcudbright, Castle Douglas are all worth a visit. Would love to return in the future.

Quiet location, very private, stunning views, hot tub, safe and secure for the dogs, beautiful walks straight out the front door, the lodge is clean and extremely well equipped there is lots of info on the loc al area. Fabulous property very clean and welcoming. The views were amazing and the hot tub was fantastic to view them from. The town Castle Douglas was only approximately 7 miles away and had everything you need. We went for our anniversary meal at a restaurant called Mr Pooks it was amazing highly recommend going. Dumfries town centre is approximately 45 mins away and Port Patrick was 1hr 20 mins away getting to both very easy and straight forward. Well definitely be coming back to Rascarral Bay

Myself, my Fiance Sarah and our two pooches have just spent a week in the Platinum 4 lodge from 5th-12th of March , and put it this way, weve rebooked to spend our honeymoon here this coming October , the whole experience was amazing, the lodge and its setting/ amenities are absolutely superb, the fully enclosed glass fronted patio is fantastic for the dogs to sit and watch the world go by while we relaxed in the hot tub with our drinks and watched the waves break on the shore. A lovely quiet place to unwind, view across to the Lake District beautiful... No light pollution so on a clear night there are millions of stars to see as you chill in the hot tub. Panels around lodge was high enough that even my lurcher didn't attempt to jump, and the views aren't obscured.. lodge is fully equipped, didn't need to take what we did . Loved loved loved it so much, we've booked again for next year. Great coastal/countryside walks for the pooch

The lodges are situated in a stunning location. Very well spaced out to give maximum comfort and privacy. Very easy to check in and out. Provision of a key fob for the security entrance made it easy access at all times. The hot tub was well maintained and inviting. Lodge itself was very comfortable, warm and well kitted out. We stayed at the cottage for Christmas week. It was a perfect getaway location for us and time to relax. The view of the sea was great! The kitchen was well equipped and had a good size fridge, which helped with a large shop over the Christmas period. We enjoyed having the electric fire on and the walk in wardrobe was a nice touch! It was also real ly quiet, which we liked from being used to London noises. The cottage was really clean and the owners left us a nice welcome package.

We booked here for our Anniversary and enjoyed it mostly. The lodge is in a beautiful location and if you do want to get off the grid with no phone signal and very weak internet then this is the place for you. Unfortunately being self employed we need to work while away and found ourselves working in the car as that was the only place we could get a signal. Also there is a barrier to get in so you can't order a supermarket delivery in advance as there is no way for the driver to contact you.

Rascarrel is an absolute treasure. We visited in November 2021 for a week to celebrate our honeymoon and stayed in Platinum Lodge 4. The lodge was immaculate and perfectly situated on the end of the lodges, overlooking the sea and fantastic surrounding scenery. The decking and hot tub area is enclosed which was great for our little dog and treats w ere waiting on arrival. We had a fabulous time and wouldn't hesitate to visit again - thank you Rascarrel :)

These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.

Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Ideal for families with younger children ,this family oriented farm park has lots of animals to meet and also offers Donkey Rides, Paddle Boats and Slides as well as Trampolines and Bouncy Castles. Kids can run around on the Soft Play Area while mum and dad relax in the Tea Room. There is also a Farm Shop onsite selling toys, gifts and fresh local produce including cakes and jams. Seasonal activities can also be enjoyed including a spookly tea and walk on Haloween. The Farm closes for the winter on October 31st.

We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look". Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.
