Solton Manor Reviews

Angela
We have had the best weeks stay at Solton Manor. We stayed for the New Year and then celebrated my 60th birthday. It was everything we hoped and more. Our dog Dolly also had the time of her life. When we arrived at the house we could see the lights from the Christmas trees inside and the house looked and was very cozy and warm. We had the best family get together. Thank you
Absolutely beautiful house, every bedroom was lovely so no one felt short changed, really nice having the games room and the hot tub. The kitchen had everything that we needed, plenty of glasses, plates, pots and pans. Would book again!!!

Solton Manor House is beautiful and a great place for a large family to get together. The initial snags we encountered were sorted promptly and without any fuss. It is a shame there were not enough oven pans for cooking a roast dinner but we improvised and managed. The fridge is not large enough for a house full but luckily the back corridor has some cool nooks. Thank you for providing a separate freezer, that was a nice surprise as was all the hand soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. We bought dishwasher salt and filled up the machine and cleaned the filter. We ran out of hot water one morning and found the nest settings had turned it off. You might want to check that for the next guests. The other items that were lacking were kitchen scissors, silicon spatulas and food tongs. It would have been useful to have had a few plastic plates, dishes and cups for the small children. We broke a wine glass and one of the grey plates but put the door catch back on the small freezer. We could not get the right hand oven to work at all. Thank you to the maintenance man for looking after us. We had a lovely family time together. When there are 16 family plus a few friends that is not easy in many locations. The location was great for many outings without having to go far. We even swam in the sea in October.

We loved our stay so much and so did our guests. The house was a lot bigger than we had anticipated and everybody loved the games room. It was a shame that the hot tub wasn't working, however, we really appreciated the alternative spa that was rented for us even though it was smaller. The only slight negative that a few of our guests brought up was the amount of flies in their rooms. It was so many that some of the guests thought something may have died in the attic so might be worth a check. Other than that, everything was perfect!
We had a wonderful family holiday at Solton Manor which is an incredible building. Any queries we had were always responded to quickly. Beautiful, relaxing and plenty of space to accommodate us all comfortably.
We booked to celebrate a 50th birthday with 9 couples, and if you are looking for a venue that will make you smile and say wow as soon as you pull off the tree lined driveway look no further than Sulton manor. The photos do not do it justice, from the moment we walked in you are drawn in by the grandeur and scale of the place. The main living room with massive fire place through to the dinning room which can easily seat our group of 18. The kitchen is very nice and although not as big as we had thought, we did manage to do a 9 course tapas with five of us cooking in there. The games room is large and full of all the equipment you could need. The main bedroom is out of a fairy tail, four poster bed on suite bathroom bigger than most family bathrooms. All of the other rooms are exactly as described on the website, but its the decor and detail that make it so special. You can really feel the history of the place with its uneven floors, exposed brickwork and beams you can see the owners have tried to keep as many original features on show as possible. The grounds are lovely and can recommend a 30 min walk to the Lantern pub. Karen and her team answered any requests quickly and were not intrusive. The Wifi was excellent and worked everywhere and the heating was great even in a place this big. All in all, we could not fault our stay and have all gone home with the most amazing memories of our stay. Thank you x

The park is abundant with wildlife including butterflies and birds.

Wildwood Trust is well worth a visit if you are staying in the local area.  You can experience close encounters with native wildlife - all in a beautiful forest setting.  You will find this attraction between the coastal town of Herne Bay and the ancient city of Canterbury.  There is a wide variety of animals to see including badgers, foxes and otters. Kids will also love the animal encounters sessions, playground and games and quizzes.  Check out their website for the latest admission prices which are excellent value for a family day out in Kent.

The park was set up to protect endangered species and while enjoying the experience visitors can learn about the dangers the animals face in the wild and the reasons for their decline. The centre aims to return animals to the wild wherever possible and the enclosures are designed closely match the animals natural habitat.

Great Kent attraction and actually the biggest play centre in Kent.  From babies right through to toddlers and juniors there is something to suit all ages.  For roddlers the under 5s play frame has a host of activities including a tube slide, ball pool and funny mirrors. Juniors will be attractoed to the Imagine Village where they can drive little cars on the specially designed roadway.
