9 Faraway Fields Reviews

Lovely property. Very comfortable with wonderful views over the countryside.
Was rather disappointed that for a luxury lodge resort the bins were not emptied, this led to bin bags being left about shredded by animals and rubbish laying around. The lodge although lovely in appearance needs a blooming good clean and freshen up, the shower room especially. Was surprised at lack quality of items in lodge. Only 2 toilet rolls left for a 7 day stay, only one tea towel no kitchen hand towelbath towels very thin. Just didnt feel like quality or luxury. The hot tub was lovely though and cleaned every day. A Christmas tree was a nice touch. If they want to be considered luxury or 5 star they need to focus on the little things.
We had a vert enjoyable stay with every facility we could wish for. The hot tub was much appreciated every day even whilst it was raining. The only thing that could be improved on would be a card on the table saying where the instructions where for all the appliances, this would save hunting through the many drawers an d cupboards after a long tiring journey. We have sung many praises already and will definitely look forward to staying again.
A very comfortable, private lodge with a great view. Our third stay at this site. The second bedroom lacks storage space and only 2 coat hangers provided in that bedroom. The floors were all very wet when we arrived and we had to turn heating up to dry them. Kitchen very well equipped however, some of the saucepans and chopping boards really should be replaced. Hot tub was lovely and ready for us as soon as we arrived. A lovely location for exploring Looe, Padstow, Eden Project and Fowey etc.
I honestly cannot recommend this accommodation enough! It was spotless throughout, the welcome pack was lovely and EVERYTHING was thought out. There was nothing lacking. We received communication before and during our short stay including an email asking if we were having a nice stay. How lovely. Our Hot Tub was cleaned daily and we saw it emptied and refilled upon our departure. Unfortunately we only spent 2 nights and have moved on to the next part of our trip. Our next stop is nothing in comparison and the high standard set at Southern Halt has made our next stop a very disappointing one. We will definitely be back. Thank you again.
We had a lovely stay with our two young children. The lodge had everything we needed and the views over the countryside were amazing. The beds and sofas were really comfortable and the decorfurniture is good quality and tasteful. It was very clean bar the odd cobwebunwashed velux windows. The hot tub was a great addition and something we will always look for on future holidays. The site was also really well kept. The balustrade does look 'dirty' as outlined in other reviews but the windows and doors were clean so there is perhaps an issue with the glass itself. Some of the wood cladding and table top may also benefit from a wood treatmentpaint but it really was not as bad as I was expecting after reading some of the reviews. One thing I would say is there is a bbq outside the bedroom door which is covered in ivy. BBQ's are not allowed on site so maybe it should be removed. Not a complaint at all as it comes with the location but I got bitten by a horsefly twice so remember your bite spray!
What a difference a year makes, we booked this property last year 2022 and was so impressed we booked again this year same week for my daughters 50th birthday. As soon as we arrived we saw a difference the glass round the decking was absolutely filthy there was no cushions for the outside furniture, we contacted Sally and she did all she could to help so thank you to her but cushions didnt fit furniture and glass couldnt be cleaned because lack of equipment. What a shame!
The gate locks just needed some attention, but it was simply lovely thanks
Stephen
Although the weather was absolutely atrocious, we had a wonderful relaxing stay in this beautiful lodge. The views are absolutely stunning and on arrival the lodge was presented well, clean and very welcoming. We have stayed at this lodge, many times and will do again. New outdoor cushions for the furniture please!!

Could have been a few degrees warmer in the place in the evening
We loved our stay at 9 Faraway fields. It had everything we needed and felt very homely. It was kept very cleaned and the hot tub was amazing ! The views and privacy were also fantastic. If we had to be picky, would be to put away the outdoor furniture cover the BBQ so that it doesnt get dirty and can be enjoyed when the weather is warmer. Loads of things to do around the site within an hours drive. Definitely recommend Golitha falls 5 mins away and a day out to St Ives just over an hour away. We will definitely be coming back.

We have always rented cottages and this is the first time we rented a holiday home. So we were a little apprehensive as to what to expect. But when we arrived the first, second and last impressions were very good. This includes the home but also the area around it. The home is spotless with high standard bathrooms and very good beds. The hottub wonderful views from it, and maintain we very good. It was checked every single day, without bothering us. Just some small points In the living room there is only lighting from the ceiling without any options to dimm it. So the only choice is no light or very bright light. The scenery from the livingroom would be perfect would it not be for the cussions on the garden furniture. It is clear they are always exposed to any kind of weather. As others already said they need to be stored away. It really brings your experience down. The same could be said for the barbeque, you don't use it in November. it is also unprotected, so it should be stored. But at least that barbeque is not in your face. As said, these are small points and we still highly recommend this home. But please do something about the mentioned points.
We had a wonderful stay for a week in this beautiful cabin overlooking the most breathtaking views of the countryside. Amazing facilities throughout and only a short distance to some beautiful sites. Our favourite was Golitha Falls and Inkies BBQ shack, only 5 minutes away. Just like some other views mentioned, the patio furniture cushions could do with an outside box to be stored during the winter to stop them getting weathered. Also the tumbledryer function on the washing machine doesnt work. Apart from those minor elements that do not really affect the stay, we had a brilliant time away and look forward to coming back again next year.

Miss Charlotte Guthrie
We had a great stay here but there where a few things that could of been better for us. The beds were not as comfy as our last stay at number 2 Faraway Fields, and we had to wash the bedding ourselves and spray the pillows as they did not smell too fresh. Also, our hot tub was loosing water as there was an issue with it. This was not noticed by the maintenance team until the day before we where coming home and still remained unfixed throughout our stay.
Mrs Karen Sherman
The only thing I could say is it was quite disturbing for my elderly parents when the maintenance man came to clean the hot tub on our last full day of our stay. Our dog was agitated and the hot tub was not up to temperature if we wanted to use it
Miss Alex Hook
Stunning place! ! The lodge was beautiful and the location was amazing. So much privacy and the views are beautiful. Only downside was that the guy came really early to clean the hot tub on our last day and we were still using it. Wouldve preferred hed waited till after check out, otherwise cant fault it. Would 100 return here!
Ms ie Hickin
Loved the accommodation wish the outside furniture was maintained and box for cushion storage so cud keep dry and clean . ..couldn't use during stay... x
Mr Chris Cornish
1. Very clean, very comfortable and fantastic views excellent 2. Complete lack of documentation for washing machine left us having to search the internet for a user guide so we could retrieve our washing. 3. Also no documentation for the hot tub so we were left pushing buttons to try to get it to pulse etc. This meant that by the 4th day we had a warm tub rather than a hot tub. 4. Drain for the shower was partially blocked so risked flooding the bathroom. 5. A label on the waste disposal switch would be useful. 6. Finally had a real fight to get the key box open.
