Glan Yr Afon Reviews

The property is located on a working farm you don't get disturbed at all, which adds to the fun. There is an incredibly friendly and very waggy tailed, farm dog that came to say hello whenever it could. The owner met us on arrival and showed us around, answering any questions we had. The house itself is very clean, well maintained and furnished and has everything you could need. There are some great walks and pubs in the local area to chose from. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would go back again.

We booked the house to celebrate a number of friends 30th birthdays and have a weekend away. We were met on arrival and shown around. The house had everything we would need during our stay and is as described on the pictures. We had a great stay and it was the perfect house for our weekend get together. Everywhere was super clean & comfortable and the hosts were lovely. The hosts were also super helpful with questions we had regarding the house prior to arriving, as it can definitely be tricky arranging for a bigger group! Plenty to do in the local area and in the house! Thanks for a great stay, would definitely return.
This is just the loveliest, cosiest place to stay! On arrival the house owner met us, and showed us all the facilities, and left a welcome pack of goodies! Such a friendly and welcoming arrival! The house is on a farm just a beautiful place to be surrounded by the nature it was idyllic. The house itself is beautiful, a lounge area for families to relax, a kitchen diner big enough for large families. The bedrooms were spacious, beds comfortable everywhere was so clean and well looked after! It was a delight! The games room for children was brilliant! We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this house! We are regular visitors to North Walesthis was perfect! Thank you to the owners who made it so lovely!
The house has absolutely everything you could need. The rooms were spacious, clean and wellmaintained. The beds were very comfortable and the amenities were great. It was also really peaceful sitting in the hot tub and listening to the stream and the cows also came up to the fence which was a nice surprise. The games room was a nice addition and popular with the kids. On top of this the host was very welcoming. Definitely recommend to friends and family!
Gladys
Wonderful property, large bedrooms, lovely kitchen and dinning room. Lovely garden and fab hot tub. The country side facing the property was lovely.. All in all a great weekend away. We would recommend the Old Stag pub in the next village, the food was home made, a rarity. Would come again.
Christine
A lovely house and location. We were there for a 70th birthday celebration with the family. The hot tub was a bonus and kept us all entertained in the sunshine. The welcome basket was a nice touch and the dog enjoyed his treats. We were only 40 minutes from home but it felt like we could have been abroad. We will be back. Thank you.
What a brilliant stay at this stunning house. We were a group of 5 ladies ready for a relaxing break and thats exactly what we got. The decor is fabulous, cosy and welcoming. The setting is so beautiful, peaceful and idyllic, that we were all totally relaxed. The roomy modern hot tub is perfectly situated and we were so lucky with the September heatwave that we had all our meals outside. The location is ideal for visiting the stunning north wales area and we were spoilt for choice with things to do. Our hostess Eirian popped to see us which was lovely and her attention to detail left us with pretty much everything we needed. We didnt use the games room but I'm sure many other guests and families would love it. We did comment that a few sunbeds would be a welcome addition but that is definitely not a criticism as we only mentioned it due to the extraordinary hot weather we had. We can't thank Eirian enough for making our stay so special that we left very reluctantly with a bag of gorgeous eating apples we picked from the garden tree with Eirian's permission. We will return...
Phoebe
We all had a wonderful stay here! The house and its surroundings are stunning, very quiet and relaxing when in the hot tub. The house had everything we needed within the rooms, bathrooms and kitchen, having enough utensils to make a large roast dinner. Bonus there is a really good local pub a few minutes drive away that does really good vegan options. The host is lovely and welcoming, always had easy communication! Would definitely come back again and recommend to others.
What a fabulous place to stay! Even better than we'd hoped from the photos. It's in a superb spot, with great villages nearby, and lovely views from house and garden. We had a brilliant week, enjoying the hot tub and the games room especially as the table football was upgraded while we were there!. Eirian the owner hope I've spelt that properly! is amazing so helpful, and had even left us a welcome hamper. The house is really comfortable especially the beds, and there are lots of really thoughtful touches. Thank you.
A lovely farmhouse in the Welsh countryside. We had a great week there. The property is spacious and well appointed. The scenery was marvellous , we had a couple of clear nights and the stargazing was magical. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub, the kids enjoyed watching the sheep and the cows. The pool table in the games room was a bonus. The owners were very attentive and made contact at regular intervals to ensure that we had everything we needed.
Patricia
The holiday house was lovely, well stocked and in a beautiful location. The owners were very helpful and attentive. We had four small children with us and they had great fun exploring the house and playing in the large gardens. If we come back to Wales we would love to stay here again.
Trevor
Really needs more attention to detail. Towels were inadequate, the games room football had no ball, the games room dartboard only had one dart, there were no egg cups in kitchen, etc., etc. Pictures on website were also slightly deceiving.
A group of us stayed for a week to celebrate a friend's birthday and to get together, with this house fitting perfectly! It is situated on a working farm with a very friendly dog to greet you on arrival, but had no issues with regards to noise or disturbance. The owners are lovely and made sure to welcome us, making sure we had everything we needed. We did have one small issue with one of the hobs but they were quick to offer us a suitable solution. The hot tub is a really good size and larger than ones we have come across in previous properties. Can really recommend this property for family holidays or reunions alike. Additionally, the owner also showed us around another holiday let property that they have on site and it was absolutely stunning! They had kept the original character of the building, making for a lovely atmosphere inside the property. Thank you for a lovely stay Eirian!
Debbie

We had a lovely Christmas holiday at Glan yr Afon. The house was decorated beautifully for Christmas. The facilities are fantastic, and the owners are wonderful hosts. Highly recommended
Louise
We really enjoyed our stay we had such a lovely family break away before Christmas. The cottage was very cosy and immaculately clean with all the facilities we could want. The beds were very comfortable and there were lots of games to enjoy for the family as well as the hot tub which was a great addition. The grounds were lovely for a fresh winters walk and the village not too far away. We would highly recommend this for a family getaway and we will definitely be returning!
Louise
Lovely, homely property. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their stay, the owner couldnt do enough for you. The house is in a beautiful setting with a stream running outback, the hot tub was perfectly placed to enjoy the scenery and the stars at night. The beds were super comfy. We are looking to stay there again.
Andrew
Lovely stay. Everyone had a great time and all slept well. Very friendly and welcoming host too. Would certainly recomend.
Excellent accommodation. Very clean. Kitchen very well equipped. Lovely location, peace and quiet. Secure garden for the dog. Hot tub was used every day. Thanks for a great holiday.
We booked a family week away at Glan Yr Afon House by the river at the end of August. Its in a beautiful location with stunning views all around. Our young boys were taken with the 2 chickens in the garden and helped themselves to a fresh egg every morning. With either a short drive to the beach or the mountains of Snowdonia, it was perfectly placed for all activities. The house was very comfortable and well equipped. And the hot tub was lovely addition on those cool summer evenings. The owner and her family were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
Christine
Fabulous property, very clean, beautiful location and 2 families accommodated with ease. We wished we were staying longer and host was very welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you!
