Richmond Hall Reviews

We have just had the most amazing weekend in this beautiful house. Julie the owner was there to greet us and explained everything we needed to know about the property. She is so friendly and helpful. It was a family celebration with 11 adults and 9 children. We all enjoyed the wonderful pool, jacuzzi and sauna. On the Saturday evening we had caterers DineaDesign, recommended by Julie who were very good and reasonable. Twenty of us sat comfortably around the dining table. We made full use of the games room playing snooker and darts and making cocktails at the bar. We cant recommend this property enough. We will definitely be back.
One of the best properties I have ever stayed at! Julie made us feel welcome straight away. It's a huge house as you can see from the photos but has a really homely feel and Julie made sure we felt comfortable straight away. She was available for any problems we might have had but we didn't! She explained how to use the sauna, pool and jacuzzi. There were tennis rackets, table tennis bats etc to use and pool table. It was perfect. Bedrooms are large, kitchen extensively equipped. Beds comfortable and exceptional cleanliness throughout. One of the best bits is that it's straight off the A55 so a very non stressful journey getting there, easily found by all. Local shops easily accessed for the usual milk run! If this is on your list of properties to stay at I'd make it your number 1 choice!
Me and my family had an amazing time at Richmond hall. It has everything a family needs without having to leave the house. Great swimming pool for kids jacuzzi for adults and so much more. I would recommend Richmond Hall to anyone.
Natalie
Absolutely fantastic stay, everything you could want and more, we will be back, thankyou

We had an amazing week the pool was brilliant for out three young grandchildren and there is so much to do in the area both for children and adults. Im sure this is a place we will come back to!

We went for joint 60th celebrations 7 couples, the house was perfect , I made my 60th one of the best experience I have ever had , Julie the owner , was absolutely fabulous . There arent enough words to express my joy a being lucky enough to visit Richmond hall. I hope to return again

I visited here with friends in October 23 The booking process and ... I visited here with friends in October 23 The booking process and communication with the owner was seamless The property is exactly as described with the indoor pool appearing larger in reality as was the games area with the snooker table Staying here with friends was lovely with all those attending wishing to return again either with families or again as a group of friends Julie was a pleasure to deal with and I look forward to visiting Richmond Hall again

We were a party of 15 adults hiring for a 60th birthday celebration. Richmond Hall is a lovely period property in extensive grounds. Plenty of space for people to be together or enjoy quieter times. There was an abundance of equipment within the property together with two BBQs and many outside seating areas. The house was easy to find and is only a short walk into St Asaph itself where we enjoyed a lovely Sunday Dinner at the Plough as recommended by Richmond Halls owner Julie. Julie was helpful and informative when we arrived explaining the kitchen appliances, the sauna and the pool roomhot tub. She encouraged us to contact her at any time with any problems or queries but we had no need to do so. We would love to come back should the opportunity arise.
Richmond Hall is an outstanding property with everything to keep a large group entertained for the duration of their stay. Particular highlights are the snooker table, tennis court, swimming pool and dining area. It's also perfectly located for visiting nearby castles or taking a riverside walk. The host, Julie, is really helpful and responds to any queries v promptly. A perfect holiday destination.

Fantastic place, everything you want to make your holiday perfect. The kids loved the pool and the games room. will definitely come back again. Thank you Julie for being the perfect host.
Amanda
We had a big family holiday here, ten adults and nine children . Wow what a place!!! The place is huge and so much room for everyone. The pool, hot tub and sauna was used everyday, some days twice. The kids spent much of their time in the pool, which is bigger than how it looks in the photos. We all loved the games room , again it is huge with loads of comfy sofas, pool and snooker tables , darts and a dance floor. Plus TV with sky a real winner for the men as they could watch sky sports!!! . And another amazing fixture is the bar, we all loved serving behind the bar, where there was a fridge, sink and plenty of glasses. Other than these frequented rooms there was one massive lounge and another lounge with a football table. Kitchen was massive too, with a table big enough to seat all nine grandkids. Plus a utility room with washing machine and dryer. Besides this the dining room has a massive table, enough seating for all nineteen of us. Everywhere was so grand. We had such amazing time, and felt no need to venture out, due to all the amenities provided. Outside was a huge area, with tennis court and again seating for all of us. The annex attached to the pool , leading into the house , was lovely too, where we could escape to, if wanted. Overall Id hugely recommend this place to any big family wanting to spend special time together, but at the same time having space, if anyone wanted quiet time. Can not recommend this place enough. Julie the owner was so helpful and made sure we had the best time. Wish we could afford to go back. Plus another recommendation We had outside caterers , designtodine in to cook a special meal for the adults, which was absolutely fantastic, very high quality, they cooked, waited on us and left the kitchen spotless. We also had the kids tea party food, afternoon tea for the adults and one evening had street food, all excellent. An amazing holiday, couldnt have wished for more. Anyone looking at this property do not hesitate to book it.
Charming countryside side home, period bedrooms, living area, and bedroom, but spruced up with a great pool, jacuzzi, sauna room, tennis court, and games room. Plenty to keep all the family busy for the week.
Hannah
Fantastic house. Booked for a 40th birthday celebration. Age ranges 8 40 years. Swimming Pool was excellent, beds very clean and comfy. All amenities you could ever need and we made use of the washing machine, tumble dryer and BBQ. So much space! The games room was brilliant we spent most of our time in this room. We didn't have to worry about the weather as we had all the entertainment we needed. Location wise very close access to A55 for venturing to nearby beaches and attractions. Julie the owner was lovely and very welcoming and on hand 2 minutes away if help needed. The plough pubrestaurant is a must and in walking distance. Thanks for a fantastic holiday
The photos of the property do not do justice to the wow factor of the house. From arrival to departure we were all very impressed with all the facilities, location and comfort. The pool and jacuzzi were used by us all everyday. as was the wonderful games room. Evenings playing snooker, darts and pool were terrific Julie was a very attentive host and we hope to return
We had a wonderful week at Richmond Hall. The weather was superb but it needn't have been as the facilities are great the pool is outstanding, larger than I thought it would be. If we can get enough people together again I'd be very keen to return. It is a very large property where the rooms are large enough so that when everyone wants to be together they can and, conversely, there are enough rooms where you can seperate out a bit. The gardens are extensive and there is nice furniture in different locations so you can all be together or spend a bit of quiet time alone. The kitchen has an AGA and a traditional ovenstove too which I loved and it must be brilliant in winter! Julie met us when we arrived to explain everything and then we all felt like lottery winners for the week. Thank you Julie, hopefully see you again!
Tracey
Just had a fabulous weekend here , Julie the host was warm and so welcoming extremely accommodating. Perfect party house for all ages we never went over the door !! Can highly recommend, just fab . Thank you Julie xx
Adrian
This was our second visit, the last one 5 years ago, Julie was still as helpful this time as she was 5 years ago. The details of the house are all accurate and more with ideal location for all Wales attractions. We wouldwill use it again
Excellent property. Everything immaculately clean and working perfectly. We received a very warm welcome from the owner and felt right at home here. The facilities meant that we didn't really need to out and the pool both provided fun for the children and is large enough to do some lengths for the swimmers. Highly recommended and we would definitely stay here again.

Richmond Hall is a fantastic holiday property Julie was there to welcome us and ... Richmond Hall is a fantastic holiday property Julie was there to welcome us and give a guided tour The house is very comfortable with plenty of room for a large family gathering The swimming pool was warm and such a big attraction for the whole family, there were even lots of floats and balls to play with The games room was a huge hit with a snooker table pool table and dart board a large TV for watching football Some of the older children had many hours of fun behind the bar making everyone drinks The Snowdonia National Park is only 45 min drive away where a few of the family walked up to the summit, the rest taking the train Llandudno 30 mins drive from the property is a lovely seaside town for traditional fish and chips and a walk along the pier The only minor negative is the grounds of the property are not suitable for outside games such as rounders or cricket but the pool certainly makes up for it We would all recommend Richmond Hall, all the family had a wonderful time Thank you Julie
Absolutely amazing place! Gorgeous house, living rooms, bedrooms, kitchen and pool area were immaculate. Perfect place for my chilled out hen party over the weekend and then family joined me for the rest of the week. It was incredible!
Joanne
Just returned from a fabulous weekend at Richmond Hall. Property was amazing. We celebrated my 50th birthday here. Age range from 175. We organised family activities from mosaic coaster making in the dining room, a cider tasting also in the dining room. A pamper party by the pool, a teddy bear hunt in the grounds, a cocktail demonstration in the bar along with a disco, snooker , pool & darts tournament. I couldnt give any negative feedback on this property. Thank you so much. Stayed January 2023
Firstly, the place is absolutely FANTASTIC! We booked it to celebrate our recent wedding with family and close friends 10 adults, 10 children ranging 2 15 years old and there was something for EVERYONE to do. The pool and the facilities are just incredible! The bar and games room was a huge hit too a perfect place for a celebration. And the bedrooms were just perfect! Julie was kind enough to get there before us to greet the shopping delivery we had ordered and even put it away for us! She then showed us round and explained that they had an unfortunate issue with the heating that was being repaired the next day which it was. Heating aside for that first nightmorning, the whole weekend there was brilliant! Would HIGHLY recommend it. We went in winter when it was snowy and frosty which was beautiful. But I'd imagine the place in summer would be just as beautiful. Thanks for the property and the lovely welcome Julie. From The Twemlows xx
We all found the house well equipped, warm, comfortable and an excellent place for a family gathering. There was something for everyone to enjoy whether it be splashing around in the large pool, relaxing in the hot tub or thrashing each other at snookerpool this house had it all! Julie was great, quick to reply to any questions. Highly recommended!
For anyone considering booking Richmond Hall dont hesitate any longer , this house is simply amazing. There is plenty of room for everyone and plenty of things to do from swimming pool, tennis, hot tub, snooker, pool and a lovely bar games room complete with dance floor. All bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and comfy , the kitchen was well stocked and Julie was extremely helpful beforeduring and after our stay. Id definitely recommend staying at Richmond Hall . Thanks Julie!
Fantastic property ideal for family get together Julie was so helpful from finding us somewhere to watch the football to chatting when we met her out walking.
We have returned yesterday from a weeks Stay at Richmond Hall. WOW what can I say....such a beautiful house with all the perfect facilities. There was 13 of us from my family of mixed ages from 1973. The house didn't disappoint at all. The bedrooms were beautiful and everything was there that we needed, Julie has got it so right!. The Games room and the Swimming pool were just absolutely brilliant they made our holiday and we got so much use in our weeks stay. North Wales was beautiful and we will most definitely be returning to Richmond Hall in the future. Thank you Julie so much x
Richmond hall is outstanding, amazing three days with the family small issue I would address is the bake wear in the aga cooker they do need replacing. Only a small gripe but would certainly recommend this fabulous hall and would return in a heartbeat
Fabulous Holiday for our large family of 15. Two things make a Fab holiday a company b Venue, both of these we had this year. Company is always great but we must have a place which suits all of our family holiday dreams. Richmond Hall has a Family Room. Pool Room with loads of leisure facilities and Family Kitchen which is just what is required for a great family holiday. Most of our time was spent in these rooms where everyone was able to do their own thing. In the Family Room Bar you could relax and watch TV, play card games, snooker, pool, darts or just stand at the bar talking. We had a few very enjoyable party evenings. Downstairs you were able to find a quiet area where you were able to enjoy your own company. The ensuite bedrooms were just what was needed with the exception of the downstairs bedroom which needs ensuite facilities added. Julie the owner was there to meet us and provided us with valuable information which we needed for our stay. We had a problem with the Hot Tub and after a telephone call to Julie it was back in working order within 24 hours. It is in a great location, within five minutes walking distance of ST Asaph and a short ride to the dual carriageway where you can visit numerous tourists attractions in North Wales. A couple of observations from our family are that the Dining Room chairs, and the Kitchen pots pans utensils be renewed. Downstairs is looking tired and may need some refurbishment doing in the next few years . Overall it is a brilliant venue and hopefully we will be having another family holiday at Richmond Hall.
Madelene
We had a lovely holiday, all 3 generations of us. Julie the owner was very helpful and easy to contact. Madelene Brooks

Just returned from a delightful 14 day stay at Richmond Hall. A wonderful retreat for all the family aged from 7 to 90! The swimming pool was a particular hit with all, used frequently and was lovely and warm. The accommodation was all we needed and much more. Julie, the owner was very welcoming and at hand should we need anything. When can we come back was the cry from the kids as we left!
Ayesha
Our stay was throughly enjoyed at Richmond Hall. With a large group of various ages, every single one of us was entertained and had the BEST time. It was too short and we would most definitely visit again! Everything was clean, super spacious, amenities were 1010! Do not have a bad word to say! As for the owners extremely friendly and super polite would definitely go back just for them.
We had a wonderful stay at Richmond Hall. The facilities were just perfect .. plenty of space for a large group not to be on top of each other. The pool and the games room were well used by all of us, as were the grounds and tennis courts simply perfect. We have booked again for next year. The owner Julie is lovely met us and showed us around then left us but is only a few minutes away if needed not that we did as all was perfect. Perfect place for family and friends of all ages to spend quality time together
Kayley
Overall we had a wonderful stay but there are a few areas which could be improved Bigger pots and pans in the kitchen. There were lots of them but they weren't big enough to cook for 15 people so this made meal times a challenge. Some also need replacing as they've lost the nonstick coating and the knives really need sharpening. The house was very clean at a surface level but it's in need of a deeper clean more often e.g. some bathrooms had orange mouldblack gunk around the sink, we also had a few issues with drainage due to loads of hair in the plugholes. A few broken items too e.g. lights not working, toilet cisterns taking a very long time to refill, slight breakage to shower door in 1 room so it came off the hinges, some dining room seats feel like they're on the edge of breaking. It's in need of some more general maintenance more often to pick up on these issues. The biggest issue for us was the bins being collected at 345am Friday morning which woke up the majority of the household, that's really not acceptable and why for us the comfort rating is lower than we would've given otherwise. We did also question which bathroom the downstairs bedroom is expected to use because the pool bathroom doesn't have a lock on the door to the poolroom so lacks the option for privacy? The alcove with extra shelving could be better used as a small shower area. Overall though we really did enjoy our stay the rooms were beautifully decorated with plenty of seating areas to enjoy, it gives the right mix of allowing guests to have their own space but with plenty of seating in communal areas for bigger get togethers. Beautiful grounds too appreciated that the tennis court had been well maintained but there were lots of wild flowers and bird song too so it was relaxing to be outside. It's in a great location the house is easy to get to with easy assess to the local village. Even though the duel carriageway is so close it still feels very private. Great facilities onsite with the games room, pool, sauna and tennis court so you don't feel you have to go out every day for entertainment. Although we didn't have little ones with us we did note the thoughtfulness of providing them with some extra little games and being able to lock the gympool area so they can be kept safe. Julie the owner was very welcoming and provided lots of helpful information about how to use the house facilities. It's a great place for families or friends to meet up for a holiday and I would recommend it as a place to stay. If the above feedback is actioned this could be a truly amazing place and I will definitely consider returning in future.
Fabulous house in a perfect setting which was just wonderful to celebrate my 70th birthday with my family. 18 of us in total ranging in ages from 3 to 73 and there was something for everything. Everyone enjoyed the pool and the games room and the adults enjoyed the bar.
Daniel
Excellent house with everything we needed Plenty of space for use to be together or find somewhere quiet to read etc The Pool, Snooker table and Pool table were all well used and we had a lot of fun Rooms were comfortable and everyone commented on how well they slept Excellent communication with Julie who was swift to reply to any questions or texts I sent. Our party of 16 had a great time and we really enjoyed the fact we could all fit round the enormous dining table Would love to return
Wonderful property with very helpful owner. We were left to ourselves in privacy it with assistance of owner to deal with issues locally. Easy bandovers, only improvement wold be a longer stay and labelled kitchen cupboards
Anthony
This is an ideal property for a large group whatever your age. It is set in lovely grounds with extensive views over the surrounding countryside. It is an excellent place to stay any time of the year and whatever the weather. It is very comfortable and secluded with areas where people can meet up but also visitors have their own personal space. It is flexible in that people can do things together, on their own or in small groups. The range of facilities, as mentioned in the website, means that there is plenty to do with lots of choices. These facilities are well maintained. There is no need to leave the property but with half an hour you can be on the beach, in Snowdonia National Park or visiting a castle. There is also space to simply sit and relax, chat or read a book. The owner, Julie Jones, is very welcoming, accessible and willing to help in any way she can without ever being intrusive. She freely gives help and advice prior to your visit as well as during it. Over the past few years, we have had three excellent family celebrations at Richmond Hall and would not hesitate to recommend it.
Fantastic home which catered for the whole family. First class accommodation.
