Carriage House Reviews

Theresa
Stunning large cottage with so much space. Very clean and tidy with beautiful fixtures and fittings and tastefully decorated. Outdoor sauna and hot tub within its own building was excellent . We were met by the host on arrival with a very well stocked welcome pack which we were very grateful of. My only recommendation would be a washing machine we were aware it wasnt listed but would make the accommodation even more luxurious, especially for stays of a week or more .
Just gotta gush about the amazing week I spent at Andrea's cozy cottage with my best friend. Seriously, it was beyond expectations. Andrea's place is a total vibe so much charm and comfort. The decor is on point, and every nook tells a story that makes you feel right at home. Nestled right in nature, the location is a dreamy escape from the daily grind. We felt like we were in our own little haven. It was the perfect spot for a chill week away for us to do some work and much needed rest. The sauna, the hot tub, the gardens. We never had a reason to leave easily used an online shopping service and cooked with ease in the kitchen. Andrea, the owner, is a rockstar host. She made sure we had everything we needed and then some. From lush amenities to awesome local tips, she really made the trip special. This wasn't just a place to crash it became part of our best memories. Highly recommend Andrea's Welsh cottage if you're up for a laidback, picturesque getaway. Thanks, Andrea, for sharing your awesome spot with us already daydreaming about round two! 5 stars all round
Lovely property. In rural location. Sauna and hot tub was really good. House had all you needed and lovely and warm .

Had a lovely weeks stay last week. The facilities were just what we needed. Unfortunately the jacuzzi was broken so before we arrived the owner arranged to hire one which was perfect and MUCH appreciated so I could continue with hydro therapy whilst away from home. We were also greeted with a generous starter snackdrink selection and lovely flowers which was also very much appreciated. The beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed in the kitchen except perhaps a pair of scissors which would be a nice extra due to my mobility issues. Ample ample firewood was available which kept my husband happy with the fire pit. Would happily stay again and hope to do so.

Very comfortable and spacious property. The small fridge mentioned in reviews appears to have been updated. The fridge we found was more than adequate. Not fridge shown on the pictures on the website. Owners left a very generous welcome pack and left hot tub ready for use, the log burner on. They were very generous with electricity considering current costs. Beds were beautifully comfortable. Some updated tourist informationleaflets were available but we felt could be added to... Overall we would definitely recommend this property and it's lovely private garden.

We arrived to rolling hills, spring lambs and sunshine. Carriage House is beautifully light and spacious, with the most idyllic garden, set in the most peaceful surroundings. The interiors are styled to inspire and yet wellequipped and comfortable. The huge, deep bath with garden view is blissful. The bed and linen choices are heavenly. The garden hideaway hot tub and sauna facilities are a real luxury. We were warmly greeted by fresh flowers, a large pre lit woodburner and a delicious, high quality fooddrink selection all thanks to host Andrea, who was very welcoming, helpful and contactable by phone, yet left us to relax with privacy for the week. The houses tranquil setting is only a short distance from wellconnected roads. We explored hills, valleys, forests, coastline, castles & dams by foot and car, far and wide. We had an absolutely wonderful week of adventure and relaxation. We wouldnt hesitate to return or recommend to others. Thank you.
Such a beautiful house and setting. The hosts were helpful and very accommodating. Thank you for the very thoughtful welcome hamper. We all had such an amazing stay!
Carriage house is in an idyllic quiet location to enjoy special family time. Andrea made us extremely welcome on arrival, nice big cosy burner lit and a very yummy welcome pack which was enjoyed by us all. It is a very old cottage where things can go wrong and there was a bit of a ceiling problem. Andrea did her best, cleaned up and made it safe for us to stay. This did impact a bit on our holiday but we except that some things are just out of our control. We would definitely still return and enjoyed our holiday.
This was our second stay at Carriage House, and again we had a superb time. Andrea left lots of logs for us and had the place warm and cosy when we arrived late in the evening. We love how peaceful it is here, and there is plenty to do with small children nearby there is a playground in Presteigne very close by, as well as soft play in Ludlow. There is also a fantastic miniature breeds farm in Kington kids can enter pens and feed some of the animals and an airfield for plane enthusiasts with a great cafe in Shobdon. The kids love exploring all the castles in the area, and there are lots of rivers for picnics and paddling Pembridge is especially good. I bring my family here every time I need to unwind from city life, and it does us the power of good. Andrea is a fantastic host, and has lots of useful info about good places to eat and visit. This place is a hidden gem.
The carriage house is a lovely place to stay. Beds extremely comfortable and feather pillows which we prefer. The hottub and sauna were a fantastic bonus. The location was great to explore mid Wales, Wye valley and forest of Dean. Andrea our host was very helpful and kind even providing pain relief for my son for a dental issue and helping find a local dentist and gave help with booking an emergency appointment. I would highly recommend the carriage house. Only slight drawback is only one toilet which was a bit tricky with 5 of us, but wouldn't put me off staying again.
Thank you for a lovely week at the Carriage House. It is set in a beautiful, peaceful location within a pretty enclosed garden. The house is beautiful and quirky with all modern facilities and everything you could need for a relaxing holiday. Andrea, our host was so kind and helpful and left a beautiful welcome hamper and fresh flowers for us, so thoughtful! The hot tub and sauna were thoroughly enjoyed by some members of our party. The property is situated near some wonderful restaurants and some of the prettiest villages. We can't wait to visit again! Keith & Debbie
We had a lovely week the house was great very spacious and cool. . The hot tub was amazing. Our host contacted me to make sure we were ok a few times and with information she was lovely. We only found a few issues with the property. 1 The fridge was to small for 2 people, so more would definitely struggle. 2 The table and chairs outside were not very comfortable.
This is by far the nicest cottage in Herefordshire we have stayed in. It is beautifully laid out, clean and spacious, and set within a stunning landscape. The beds are so comfy! Our kids loved the hot tub and playing in the garden, and there are lots of walks and places to visit nearby. We will definitely be coming back!
Carina
Such a beautiful house. The owner Andrea was wonderful and extremely helpful we visited for my Mother's 70th birthday and when we arrived we were greater with flowers, cake, champagne and so much local produce. It was perfect. Andrea gave lots of info on the local area and guided us to the Stagg Inn for lunch. Absolutely beautiful!!! Can't thank you enough Andrea for a wonderful weekend x
Claire
We had a brilliant stay at The Carriage House. The perfect property for the five of us to have a reunion after 2 years apart. The host Andrea was brilliant, she had the fire lit for our arrival., recommended walks, left a lovely welcome hamper and even had our food delivery brought in and put away as we were a little late. Gorgeous house.
We had a fantastic stay at the Carriage House. From the moment that we arrived, the quality of the finish of the house was even more apparent than the images and Andrea had left us with an already lit fire and an array of lovely deli treats. We had a fantastic stay and it acted as the perfect luxury getaway that we needed, especially with the chance for a unwind at the end of every day in the fantastic hot tub and sauna facilities. Thank you Andrea for such a wonderful stay!
Thomas
Owners so helpful, left us a wonderful welcome pack and sent guide with clear instructions for facilities and guide to local area. Thank you.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Carriage house, it was the perfect place for us and just what we wanted! Unfortunately the weather was not great so we didn't get to explore the local area or make the most of the fire pit! The host went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay, helping with directions, leaving a welcome gift and lovely flowers which opened up lovely during our stay. I wouldn't think twice about booking a stay here again! Only downside for 6 adults staying a week the fridge is quite small and no freezer other than an ice box. Although would not be a problem if you are planning to eat out a lot during your break!
Our host was absolutely fabulous and completely exceeded our expectations with hospitality and information about the area. We spent a few days in due to weather, but with the wood burner, hot tub and sauna it was a wonderful experience. It was lovely to go on the local walks, and spend some time in neighbouring villages and towns. I would definitely visiting again, and thank you again!
Great country cottage with big rooms and lots of natural light. Amazing location, with total peace and quiet.
The cottage and surrounding area exceeded our expectations. The owner Andrea was so welcoming and very generous leaving us an assortment of goodies on arrival. The beds were so comfortable and the cottage felt much roomier than we expected. Also the hot tub and sauna were an added bonus. The garden is lovely and a perfect place to relax with the fire pit burning on a summer evening. In the surrounding area there are so many lovely places to visit and activities available. We did walks, wild water swimming, go karting and canoeing as well as visiting Ludlow and Hereford. We had a wonderful holiday and would love to return.
Sharon
Fantastic Weeks Holiday! Characterful period cottage with modern amenities and large rooms throughout. Lovely and quiet location. Beautiful views of sunrise & sunset from upstairs windows. Immaculate garden perfect for dining and relaxing. The fire pit is perfect for toasting marshmallows, and the hot tub and sauna are the perfect place to unwind at the end of the day. Pizza oven was a great addition too! Hosts did everything possible to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, providing fabulous Welcome treats, fresh flowers, ample information and recommendations on the area. Ludlow is well worth a visit for the shopping, market, castle and river. Drive up to the top of Clee Hill for glorious views and exploring! The Judges Lodging in Presteigne is well worth a visit, as is Leintwardine for a wild swim in the River Teme & a drink and lightbite in the Sun pub. If we visited the area again we would definitely stay here.
Gwendolyn
Owners are extremely helpful and thoughtful. Cottage is wellequipped and very comfortable.Hot tub and sauna are lovely and well maintained. We loved the log wood burner and beautifully maintained garden and made full use of these. Radnorshire Arms in Presteigne serves a very good Sunday roast lunch and the Judges Lodgings Museum makes for a good activity for the whole family on a rainy afternoon. There is no washing machine! This meant we had to visit launderette in Kington and spend a whole morning of our holiday doing washing. We were not aware of this when we booked the holiday.
Avryll
What a fabulous place to stay! The house was lovely characterful yet modern, and we really appreciated the welcome goodies too.. thank you! The area is very quiet and peaceful but plenty to see if youre prepared to travel. Highlights were Ludlow Castle, Aberystwyth beach and first class travel on the Welshpool and Llanfair Steam train. Was lovely to relax in the spa at the end of a long day too perfect!

Had a lovely week at The Carriage Way. From the views to the cottage itself and the surrounding fields we had a lovely time. The kids had so much fun within the cottage as well as within the surrounding areas. We were able to do so much with them, visiting the west midlands safari, the farm, owl enclosure, garden centres and ofcourse being able to eat the local berries and honey pots. Andrea was a lovely host and was very welcoming and hospitable. Upon arrival we had a lovely welcome package. We had everything we needed and it was easy to make ourselves feel at home. One of the best features of the cottage house was the jacuzzi and sauna. A great way to relax at the end of the day! We had the stone pizza ovens both indoor and outdoor which were so lovely to have. We enjoyed our stay so much and we cannot wait to come back again very soon.
It was lovely to have the special extra touches as we arrived. The welcome package and beautiful flowers especially. Also received a birthday card from Andrea. The perfect host.
Lovely place to stay, amazing comfort in a secluded quiet area!
Richard
I had a wonderful stay, peaceful and relaxing. The property is perfectly located for lots of different day trips and bike rides. The outside seating space is relaxed and enclosed and the addition of the hot tub a real treat. Greeted on arrival with some local food produce I felt very welcome and the property had great character and everything I required. This is my 3rd really good Sykes cottage break and I will be back to the carriage house again.
We had a delightful stay in this lovely home. The welcome pack was a wonderful and generous surprise with yummy goodies. Great wifi, comfy bed with snuggly duvet and the sauna was a welcome addition for unwinding at the end of the day, especially with the weather being cold and torrential rain. A delightful, private home away from home.
Isabelle
We had the most amazing stay at the Holiday Cottage, it was the perfect mix of comfort, cosiness and luxury! We loved using the hot tub and sauna after long walks and lighting a fire in the living area. The beds were extremely comfortable and each room was equally special.
The warm welcome as we stepped through the door was just wonderful. Nothing too much trouble from Andrea and her husband. Cottage beautifully presented, beds and bed linen at a very high standard. We would stay again, without hesitation.
