Gallus House Reviews

We had the perfect stay at Gallus House. 5 Adults, 2 children and 2 dogs. Plenty of space, beautiful rooms. We couldn't find any fault with our stay. The welcome basket was a lovely addition and very thoughtful. Our children loved the outdoor space, the games room, hot tub and the fact they had their own lounge to relax and watch tv in. Clean and comfortable. Property well equipped with great welcome basket.

This house was perfect for our multi-generational family holiday. It had everything we could possibly need. The garden was really secure and perfect for the dog, so much so that we felt able to leave him outside by himself knowing he couldn't escape. The kitchen was really well equipped with everything you could possibly need. We also really appRead morereciated the 2 separate sitting rooms, both with T.V.s The house in nicely situated just over the road from a very nice restaurant/pub. It is wise to book early if you wish to eat there as it's very popular. There are many nice beaches within a reasonable distance including Overstrand which is walkable. Hide

A lovely well equipped house. Decor throughout very tasteful. Large rooms. Felt like home from home. Great location for travelling around. Useful pub right opposite the house serving lovely food and pub guests didnt disturb us at night at all. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Gallus House is definitely worth a visit, great location with lots of facilities to keep you happy. A hot tub, games (both indoor and outdoor) bbq which we used often. Books to read. A well equipped kitchen and comfortable lounges and bedrooms (2 en-suite and a family bathroom) all perfect for our 6 adults 2 children a baby and 2 dogs! I cant recRead moreommend it highly enough. Overall the property is really nice. It is really spacious, which was great for 4 adults and 2 younger children. The location is also great, with the pub across the road, the beach nearby and all local attractions within a short drive. There are also some lovely walks from the property (which are also suitable for running). The parking is good, suiRead moretable for 2 cars and theres plenty of on street parking as well. However, with the property being advertised as more upmarket, there were a few little aspects which were disappointing (but may sound petty!), such as the quality and lack of kitchen utensils and unkept lawn. The high chair and travel cot (we brought our own mattress thankfully) were welcomed, but there were no stair gates. Overall it was a nice place to stay, and the location was prefect. Hide

Great location and facilities. Everything you could think of was provided and welcome pack was a nice touch, which we appreciated. Was great having two living rooms so the youngsters had their own room to watch TV or play games in. Spent a lot of time in the garden, which was enclosed and the dog loved. Also great to have darts and table tennis to Read moreplay. Pub opposite was lovely with a warm welcome and nice food. Village nice and central for coast and the broads. Hide

Just beautiful. Gallus House is perfectly located; a peaceful setting with easy access to everywhere you need to go. Believe the description but add generous welcome pack, high quality bedding and towels, top end furnishing and fittings and access to all streaming channels. It is a special place.

Fabulous property the pictures do not do it justice as much better in the flesh. Will certainly return
Alison

We stayed at Gallus House for the weekend and it was one of the most beautiful, relaxing and comfortable places I have ever stayed. The house is spacious, welcoming, elegantly presented, and immaculately clean. The hot tub had had a change of water the day we arrived which meant it didnt heat to full temperature until the next day, but that was absRead moreolutely fine because then we made the most of it by going in three times the next day, including in the evening with a glass of bubbles and a beautiful starry night sky! The fire place in the main living room was heavenly. The games room was lots of fun. The beds were so comfortable, we slept like logs! And the location is excellent, with a public footpath leading all the way to the beach (30 mins scenic walk), and even better - a pub over the road that does pizzas to eat in or takeaway, as well as a great standard menu and of course great wine! We are already talking about when we can come and stay again. A wonderful mini break. We left very happy and very relaxed. Thank you so much! Hide

The property is a lovely mixture of period features and modern interiors. The space is excellent for a large family and there was lots to keep the children occupied. We loved using the hot tub and the games room and the dog was safe and happy in a secure garden.

Absolutely stunning property! Immaculately clean! Extremely well equipped, truly the most comfortable place we've ever stayed! Very friendly pub staff and customers right opposite the house. All details reference instructions from the onset right through to the final emails are implicitly detailed. Would thoroughly recommend.
Sally
Lovely winter break with 3 generations all together. Gallus House was perfect, lots of space for us and the hot tub and wood burners were much appreciated. Great to have a good pub just across the road, good food and friendly people. Bracing walks on the beach! A lovely week enjoyed by us all.

Sheringham Park - NR26 8TL
about 0 Miles
The National Trust Sheringham Park in Norfolk was designed by Humphry Repton and the book of original designs can still be seen. The park has many attractions including a viewing tower and a gazebo with amazing coastal views, wildlife trails which young children will love and an exhibition barn where visitors can learn the history of the park.
Bishops Boats Seal Trips - NR23 1RY
about 7 Miles
This is a really unique attraction running daily seal watching trips from the middle of March right through to the end of October.  The experienced skippers will lead you out on one of the traditional wooden boats where you will have the chance to see both common and grey seals.  If you love animals then this is one attraction not to be missed! They also do some boat trips combined with guides on dry land such as seal watching combined with a visit to Blakeney Point Nature Reserve, owned by the National Trust.  We think this attraction is excellent value for money as they keep their admission prices low.
Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens - NR21 0LN
about 14 Miles
if you and your family are interested in nature and wildlife then Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens is the perfect place for a day out. This beautiful area of national parkland is home to a huge range of common and rare birds from sparrows to Red Crowned Cranes and also has a red squirrel enclosure - part of a conservation programme and now home to a family of adorable squirrels. Other activities to enjoy at Pensthorpe include pond dipping and Landrover discovery tours. Pensthorpe also played host to BBC'S Springwatch in 2010.
Dinosaur Adventure Park - NR9 5JW
about 15 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
Bewilderwood - NR12 8JW
about 18 Miles
Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
Melsop Farm Park - NR20 3DT
about 27 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
