About Knights Farm

Knights Farm is nestled in an idyllic rural setting adjoining a working farm, offering the ultimate countryside retreat and an ideal location for a get-together with family and friends for a special occasion. With spectacular rural views, you couldn’t ask for a better location, and the grounds of the property add to its appeal with an enclosed courtyard, and a gorgeous walled garden complete with a hot tub.

This is somewhere you can imagine spending lots of time during your stay whether it's firing up the barbecue on a sunny day and immersing yourself in the warm waters of the hot tub, or getting snuggled up by the open fire and woodburning stove inside on a chillier winter's day. Inside, the property gets better and better with original features throughout including wood panelling, beamed ceilings, feature fireplaces, and attractive sash windows, which all add up to create a beautifully traditional ambience.

Take your pick from the warm and welcoming sitting room with its open fire, plush seating and original patio doors offering stunning views over the gardens and adjoining farmland, a great space for gathering together to socialise. Or escape to the inviting and comfortable games room where you can enjoy a game of darts, table football, retro console games, board games or even just a good book.

For the designated chef, the rustic kitchen is a well-equipped delight with an electric range cooker, additional combi oven and coffee machine. When it's time to serve up, choose from the informal island dining area in the kitchen or take a seat in the adjoining dining room where you can look forward to drinking and dining in an elegant and stylish setting with woodburning stove.

If you'd like a break from cooking altogether, the property owner is happy to assist you in booking a local private chef (depending on availability). When it's time for bed, guests can choose from six beautifully-appointed bedrooms including a ground-floor double and both super-king and king-size suites upstairs, with two twin room options available if required.

Knights Farm Reviews

Joanne
Knights farm was perfect for our family gathering, so spacious but cosy at the same time. A very well equipped kitchen, perfect when cooking a Sunday roast for 12. We all had a great time, Very accommodating, the welcome book had everything you needed to know and more.
Knights Farmhouse is all anyone could wish for in a holiday let. All 9 of us adults found the beds luxuriously comfortable. No feedback from the two year old about her cot but she stayed in it long enough for mum to get some sleep. The hot tub was a pleasure even in the cold of December. The games room with its giant tv screen, darts board and baby footer was a joy to the young of heart. Firewood was plentiful and the chimney in the lounge kept the room smoke free. Our cooks found it a little tricky keeping the oven at the correct temperature but that was due no doubt to inexperience and made no difference to the quality of the meals.
Great house for large gatherings! It's beautiful, well equipped, very clean and in a tranquil rural setting but close to lots of great walks and activities. We had a fabulous time and can thoroughly Knights Farm to other groups.
A beautiful home and a perfect place to stay. The home itself is beautiful and equipped with everything you could need, the host went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. The area is lovely, you can walk for miles and not bump into a soul, perfect for our pooches who love exploring new areas. Thanks again for having us, well definitely be back again.
Knights Farm is the perfect countryside retreat! Annabel, the host, had thought of absolutely every little detail to make our trip perfect, we loved our welcome hamper with some local goodies in and a bag of potatos grown on the farm! Even our dogs were spoilt with with jars of dog treats and baskets with fluffy blankets! Not only was the house beautifully decorated and spotless, but the rooms are huge with so many original features, the beds were all so comfortable and even the showers were powerful and hot which you don't always get in older houses, the garden has beautiful views of the countryside and nearby river whilst still feeling private, the hot tub was a real treat and we were even supplied with robes and flip flops! We couldn't recommend this property enough for large families or friends getting together. The service we received from start to finish from Annabel was impeccable and we couldn't ask for more!

Enjoyed a wonderful time away at Knights Farm. The house has been decorated to a beautiful standard with everything you could need for time away with friends and family. We loved the living room looking out over the beautiful gardens and Suffolk countryside. Excellently set up for those with children, loved there were built in stair gates and plastic cutlery for little hands. Plenty to do in the local area or a soak in the hot tub if you dont want to venture afar! Cant wait to return

Suffolk Owl Sanctuary - IP28 6HX
about 15 Miles
This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
Colchester Zoo - CO3 0SL

Colchester Zoo is a fantastic place to visit with something for all the family.  Wander around and see the array of animals in excellent habitats.  Don't forget to visit the Leopards at Ussuri Falls, this new expansion can be located opposte the White Tiger Valley and the Medellin Momkeys.  Other popular areas of the zoo include Tiger Taiga, Chimp World and Wallaby Walkabout.   Look out for special events throughout the year such as Shriek Week on Halloween.  If you book tickets online you can obtain a discount of 10% and are also fast tracked on entry to the zoo - a great idea in the school holidays.
Great Notley Park - CM77 7FS

This attraction is currently under construction but we are looking forward to it opening in early 2011.  The philosophy of the Discovery Centre is 'healthy body, healthy mind, healthy planet and aims to change people's attitudes and actions towards our planet.  Educational as well as fun there are plenty of activities such as outdoor sport pitches, cycle and walking trails and indoor activity rooms.  This is a unique attraction for the whole family.
