4 Wellacres Cottage Reviews

The most amazing little find! We had a beautiful weekend at 4 Wellacres. The cottage is beautiful inside and out, cosy, clean and well equipped. The cottage had more than enough space for 6 adults to enjoy a weekend together but also not be on top of one another. The location is brilliant being so close to Burton onthe Water, Stow onthe wold, Daylesford farm shop and various other stunning Cotswolds villages. All in all it gets a 1010 from all of us. Thank you again for having us!
The downstairs Bathroom is small, the sink is tiny, the shower barely enough room to turn around. It would be helpful if you put coat towel hooks on the back of the bathroom doors as there is very little hanging space. On the plus side, we arrived when snow was on the ground, so very cold, the under floor heating was great, the property never felt cold.

Lovely cottage, in a lovely area, close to some scenic villages, Chipping Campden, Moreton in Marsh, Stow on the Wold, Burford, all worth a visit. Would highly recommend this cottage and hope to return in the future. Many thanks. Godfrey family.
Anthony
Lovely cottage, very clean. We would definitely like to stay there again! Very peaceful.

When we arrived at the property, we let our dogs out into the enclosed garden only to find that it was not enclosed, and the dogs escaped through an ungated side entrance. Fortunately, the maintenance team addressed this issue the next day by blocking the 3ft pathway with a pallet, which effectively resolved the problem. Thankfully, the dogs were unharmed, but the property should not be described as dogfriendly with an enclosed garden. On the surface, the property's cleanliness seemed fine. However, as we began using the facilities, it became clear that the cleanliness was not up to the expected standard. We found hairs in the kitchen drawers, teastained mugs, dirty pans and cutlery, crumbs in the oven, layer of grime onto of oven's extractor fan and fridge both at eye level and cobwebs throughout, to name some of the issues. Additionally, the upstairs area had a stale smoke odor and clearly needed a deep clean. Sykes did offer to reclean the property during our stay, but this was halfway through our visit, which was inconvenient. We didn't want a cleaner there while our belongings were in the property, nor did we want to deal with the awkwardness of having the property recleaned while we were there. We also didn't want to restrict ourselves to staying at the property when we wanted to be out enjoying the Cotswolds. The property should have been properly cleaned before we arrived.
Lovely clean cottage with everything we needed in a convenient and beautiful location. We enjoyed the hot tub of an evening along with some bird watching!

Avon Leisure Cruises - BS8 4EB
about 13 Miles
Avon Leisure Cruises offer a relaxing way to spend an afternoon exploring the beautiful river and the sites all around it. The trips have commentary to point out places of historical importance and interest and are educational as well as fun. During school holidays the area is very popular with tourists and with families and daily activities can be enjoyed.
Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens - OX18 4JP
about 17 Miles
This has to be one of the most popular days out in Oxfordshire and is sure to appeal to nature lovers, animal lovers and keen gardeners.  Families and couples will enjoy wandering around this amazing park with a wide variety of mammals and birds to see as well as reptiles. Some of the most popular animals are the Burrowing Owl, Dexter Cow, African Pancake Tortoise and the Bar Headed Goose.  Check out their website for the latest admission costs and special offers.
Spetchley Park and Gardens - WR5 1RS
about 20 Miles
Spetchley Park and Gardens in Worcestershire are the perfect place for a day trip all year round. During the summer months the gardens are really at their best with beautiful displays of flora and fauna. Many families choose to bring a picnic and there are several picnic tables in the grounds. The deer park is also a big hit with children as well as grown ups. The onsite tea room serves tasty sandwiches and cakes and uses local produce where possible.
Catanger Llama Trekking - NN12 8LJ
about 27 Miles
This is a really unique attraction and certainly worth a visit in our opinion.  Established in 1995 and situated in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside this attraction will appeal to those looking for something a little different.  You can't ride the animals but you can trek alongside them and enjoy the fantastic scenery.  From farm tracks to country lanes the gentle animals will carry your rucksack for you along the way.  There are personally guided treks available all year round and you will have your own Llama for the trek.
Farmer Gows - SN7 8DA
about 28 Miles
Farmer Gows is a recommended attraction in the Faringdon area of Oxfordshire and will be especially suited to families with young children.  The little ones will love coming to see the farm animals including pigs, cows and lambs.  The meet the animals session takes place every day and includes handling the animals, walking the goats, feeding the pigs and cows and egg collecting.  Look out for special seasonal events throughout the year such as the Halloween Party, Lambing and children's workshops.  The latest news from the farm is that they have some Saddleback piglets and Speckledy chicks arriving shortly.
