Rose Cottage Empingham Reviews

Emma
The cottage is really charming, but it could use a little more TLC. I’d recommend it once some small issues are sorted out.
Emma
Decent, but not perfect
Emma
We really enjoyed this quaint countryside cottage. Once the heating was up to speed, it was super cosyand the hot tub was definitely a highlight of our trip. We found a lovely walk nearby and could easily stroll to Rutland Sykes side. Just a heads-up, many of the pretty country pubs nearby don’t serve evening meals, so we ended up cooking in and relaxing at home instead.
Grace
We stayed at Rose Cottage over Christmas and really enjoyed it. The location near Rutland Water is lovelyand the cottage itself is charming. The hot tub was a highlight - very well looked after. The rooms are spacious, especially the three large downstairs areas including the kitchen. The fire isn’t used, but it adds a cosy feel. The kitchen is decent, though a bit more cupboard space would be handy if you're self-catering. Overall, a great stay!

Really enjoyed the stay, will definitely come back next year!
Emma
We loved this cosy cottage! Spent days walking around Rutland Water, then unwinding on the patio or soaking in the hot tub-absolutely perfect!
Emma
We loved staying at this charming cottage tucked away in a peaceful spot in Empingham. It’s really handy being close to the village shop and the pub, where we enjoyed some lovely evening meals. The owners were super helpful throughoutand the hot tub was a real highlight. We had fun playing badminton in the garden and walking to Rutland Water - perfect for our family of two adults and three teenagers. The place is spacious, well-equippedand didn’t get disturbed by other guests. Only thing to note - if spiders bother you, it might not be ideal!

We loved the cosy cottage in such a charming village, with plenty to explore nearby. The owners were really friendly and quick to help us out when needed. The hot tub and badminton made the stay extra fun, though the kitchen could use a bit of a refresh.
Emma
We had such a lovely stay! The hot tub was perfect for unwindingand the enclosed garden meant the dogs could run freely, which they loved. The big dining room made it easy for everyone to eat together and catch up. The kids enjoyed the wide range of games too. Overall, a really relaxing place-can’t wait to come back again!
James
We really enjoyed our stay here. The place has a charming rustic vibe and is super cosy. There’s plenty nearby for those who love adventure, yet it still offers comfort for a more relaxed break. The low beams are a bit of a challenge, but we knew about them beforehand. Now we’re just ducking everywhere at home!
Alex Morgan
We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage. The photos don't quite capture how charming it is in person. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas, which made it extra special. The place was super well-equipped, especially the kitchen with everything we needed. The hot tub was ready to use when we arrived, which was great. The shared drive and garden didn't feel crowded at all - the neighbour was friendly too. Definitely recommend this place!
Emma
Really loved this place! It’s super cosy, well kitted outand in a fantastic spot. Perfect for friends or family. Would definitely come back!
Emma
Honestly, we were pretty let down. The dust and dead bugs behind the bed were a real shockand the bathroom sink being blocked was a pain. The shower water temperature was inconsistentand the sofas were so stiff we couldn't relax. Towels and bedding felt cheap, which was disappointing since it had potential for a five-star stay. The hot tub wasn’t enough to save it!
Emma T.
Great spot close to Rutland Water, the house had everything we needed and a lovely yard.
Sarah
We had such a lovely stay at the cottage! The place is gorgeous, especially the big garden and the hot tub which was a real treat. The location is perfect-close to Rutland Water, pubs, supermarketsand a leisure centre with a swimming pool, so there’s plenty to do. The owner was super friendly and helpful, making everything easy. We all had a fantastic time and made some great memories. Honestly, the week flew by. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing break!
Emma
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rose Cottage! The location is fantastic - just a short walk to Rutland Water, where we had fun playing crazy golf and hiring bikes. The kids loved the hot tub, spending ages in itand the garden was perfect for them to run around and play badminton safely. It was a really lovely week!
Emma
We loved staying in this charming cottage nestled in a truly postcard-worthy village. The garden was perfect for picnics and BBQs, with loads of parking space. It would’ve been great to have an extra shower for our group, but we get it-being a century-old place, space is limited. Definitely hoping to return someday!
James
We loved this cosy cottage in such a quiet spot, perfect for relaxing. The location is great, close to loads of attractionsand the garden was a lovely size. The kitchen had everything we neededand the Wi-Fi worked well. The period features added charmand the beds were super comfy. We didn’t expect the other property in the garden to be so close, but it didn’t really bother us. It’s a perfect base for exploring Rutland!
