Ballinorig Lodge Reviews

Natasha
Can't not fault our stay at this lodge. David was so friendly and accommodating meeting us on arrival, showing how everything works, giving us recommendations on the area and even coming in to light the fire for us while we was out. The place has everything you need even a bits and bobs draw which i absolutely loved. Great location, clean and cosy.

The photos of the cabin to not do it justice at all, such a warm and welcoming place. The views of the night sky were amazing. Hot tub and BBQ hut were a huge bonus. Will definitely be booking again. Thank you for an amazing stay and being fabulous friendly hosts
Stunning. Location was beautiful. It was the perfect stay & everything that we could possibly need was provided. It was fabulous waking up to the sound of a cockerel, hearing the owls at night & relaxing in the most wonderful hot tub. It was a fantastic week.
The lodge was more than we expected. Beautifully presented on arrival, we were met by the owner despite arriving quite late and he took the time to show us around the area and show us how the facilities work. 100 reccomend and definitely hope to visit again in the future
David you were amazing! The place was fantastic thank you for a great stay. Only thing we said we missing was a drying rack for the washing up. We were worried we were spilling water onto the sides.
The property is amazing. We were welcomed in with a roaring log fire. David the owner was so helpful and friendly. It is a 5 star property, very clean. Everything you need is there. The hot tub is fantastic and we enjoyed the BBQ. Some lovely places to visit near by. We had a great time and hope to go back .

This property is an absolute gem. The owner David was very helpful and showed us how to use everything when we arrived. We were left everything we needed and more. The location is ideal and it's lovely and private. David was so nice with our kids letting them feed the chickens and geese. There was plenty of space. It is right next to a river and a small wood and close to the town centre. The lodge is immaculate. We wish we had stayed longer.
We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful, cosy lodge. It was just what we needed. Thankyou to David for the lovely welcome and for warming the fire up for our arrival. Couldn't fault a thing. The lodge is really well equipped and everything well thought out. The hot tub was a lovely bonus that we really enjoyed. Would 100 recommend for a relaxing break.

Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 16 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 22 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 23 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 28 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
