Had a really lovely stay! The lodge was spacious and super comfy, perfect for four of us. The location was spot on, just a quick walk to the pub. All the appliances worked well and everything was spotless. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, making us feel really welcome. Would definitely come back!

Lovely neighbourhood, very welcoming localsand it's just a quick 15-minute drive to Penrith.

We stayed at this lodge recently and were really impressed. The place was spotlessand the views were absolutely stunning. We loved seeing the peacocks wandering around - such a nice touch! There was plenty of storage in the bedrooms, including dressing tables with mirrors and sockets, which was really handy. The indoor and outdoor seating was super comfy. The towels and kitchen cloths were a nice bonus. The only thing was the hot-tub access - climbing down was tricky if you have mobility issues, but overall, a lovely stay!

We stayed at this lodge both with and without our dogand honestly, it’s a pretty lovely place. The lodge itself is spotless and well-equipped, which we appreciated. The beds aren’t the most comfy, but it’s not a deal-breaker. The location is a bit remote, about half an hour to the nearest lake, so not great if you want quick trips out. With a dog, it’s a bit tricky since the outdoor space is at the back and you can’t just walk directly onto it without going around. No proper walkable area for your pup, which was a shame. Still, for a peaceful retreat, it’s not bad at all!

We had a lovely stay at this gorgeous lodge. The staff were genuinely friendly and super helpful throughout. The Globe Inn pub nearby is a real gem - just a short walk awayand their food and drinks were top notch. We’re already planning to return soon. Definitely recommend it for a relaxing getaway!
Emma
We really enjoyed our stay. The lodge was lovely, with a big space and a gorgeous view to wake up to. When we arrived, there was a nice touch that made us feel welcome. The only thing is, most attractions were about an hour’s drive since it’s quite north, which we didn’t expect. Still, we’d definitely come back again!

Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 10 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 15 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 16 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 21 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
