As in the welcome pack it was stated that there would be a visit on a Monday and Friday morning to check the hot tub unfortunately nobody came on Monday morning whilst we were there by Wednesday we felt restricted by the amount of water in the hot tub although it didn't stop working for us,also the views were amazing and walks around the lanes were quite breath taking
Lovely little property and very well equipped, the weather was against us from the start with storm Lillian, so we made the decision to come home 5 days early so didn't get to do what we wanted. We would definitely go back to the Lake district to see what we didn't
Jacqueline
Wonderful cottage and so central to visit all the places around. We had fantastic weather when we were there and the dog loved it too. The hot tub was great to chill out in as it was getting dark. Definitely recommend and will definitely book again. Thanks Ian and Julie xx
Claire
Amazing stay! The Lodge was a cosy and idyllic space. We enjoyed the outside space too! The property has all you need for a fantastic stay!
Tracey
Absolutely loved this Lodge , clean, comfortable, everything there we needed , hot tub amazing after walking everyday , only a short drive to Bowness and Ambleside. Lovely views also . First time to Lake District and so glad we stayed here , best location ever much preferred to the hustle and bustle experience In the more well known regions. Will definitely be back next year and thank you Ian for the processco and milk provided for us on arrival

This is our 4th stay at The Lodge and again it was a lovely stay. Overall we have no complaints as everything is as described and will certainly be back. However, there was an issue with the pressure of the hot water in the kitchen and that needs addressing. The bedding was lovely clean and fresh but the throw at the end of the bed could maybe do with a freshen up as it had a smell of dog. Overall we had a lovely stay and would always highly recommend the lodge as its beautiful and great base to explore the Lakes.
Amazing relaxing break from me the mrs and dog. Would absolutely recommend and we are booking again. Little things like what the owners provide on top is so help full. With the location just making things so easy.
We had a lovely short break at The Lodge. Very clean and well equipped and the owners were responsive to our queries. There is an entrance to a caravan park adjacent with some passing cars as mentioned in other reviews, but that did not bother us. We appreciated the proximity to local towns and villages whilst also feeling like it was an escape from hustle and bustle. There are a few nice walks on the doorstep and we enjoyed watching the sheep from the kitchen window waiting for the kettle to boil. The log fire was lovely and the hot tub is a bonus after long day out walking and exploring. We are used to a superking bed and this was only a double one night I slept on the sofa to have a bit more room but that was the night my Garmin gave me an 'excellent' sleep score so I can vouch that the sofa was comfortable too!
Lovely comfortable cottage, well equipped with all the kitchen equipment you would need, plenty of towels too. Logs were provided for the fire aswel as coal if needed but could do with something better than cigarette lighters to light it, like a safety gas lighter. Hot tub was great but could do with some kind of overhead cover so it's useable when raining. On the down side the economy 7 water heating was very noisy during the early hours of the morning and the hot water pressure was very low and we only managed a small trickle of water from the hot tap in the bathroom. I would advise to take torches as we had a power cut for one and have hours on one night and the neighbouring cottage said it was very common and always happens. Short walk to the White Heart pub which is worth a visit and lots of other places to visit nearby.

Had a lovely weekend here, would definatley book here again.

So good we have booked again
We loved this dog friendly, very clean cottage. enjoyed walks directly from the cottage and is a good base to explore windermere, Ambleside and our favourite, grasmere. we would also recommend roanhead if you like a good dog friendly beach. the local pub is friendly and we can recommend the Sunday dinner which is served both lunch and evening. the hot tub was a welcomed addition after long walks the only slight niggle was being at the entrance to the caravan park. we always search for isolated cottages which this was listed as such. it is isolated but traffic in and out of the caravan park detracted from that a bit. didn't spoil anything though. we would definitely use again
This was our second visit to The Lodge at Bouth and we will definitely be returning again in the future. Everything was top quality with lots of information about local walks, pubs and facilities near by. Being able to relax in the hot tub after a long walk just added to the holiday. Thank you so much for a fantastic holiday.

Lack of hot water pressure was the only down side
The accommodation was great, the added extras provided by the hosts are such a wonderful touch. The property is in such a good location for so many destinations and is a great base. We had the best time and would definitely return.
Gillian
Wonderful cottage, very peaceful! An ideal base for exploring The Lake District! We feel very relaxed after a long weekend here!
Incredible little cottage. We had such a warm, comfortable stay. Everything we needed was at hand. So clean and tidy. We made the lodge our home for the weekend and, if I thought I could afford it, would be putting an offer on the property. Perfectly sited, the Lodge comes highly recommended to anyone and everyone.
Richard
Cosy well furnished and decorated romantic retreat. We loved the peaceful area and views from the cottage windows lots of walks available on the doorstep ideal location for touring the lake district.
Cannot wait to stay there again

We had a wonderful week at the lodge, it was so peaceful and the location is perfect for exploring the lakes. The lodge has everything you need for a comfortable stay and the hot tub and log burning stove were perfect after a day exploring. Despite the fact we stayed in January I would have liked to have a table and chairs in the garden outside to sit and enjoy the views and read but it didn't take away from our experience which was 5 star we will definitely book again. Thank you for all your help too with our queries which were answered promptly. We recommend booking the lodge as you won't be disappointed.
Rebecca
We had a fantastic week in this beautiful property over Christmas. It had everything we needed, and more. The lodge was easy to find, had a fantastic location, it was so well equipped, comfortable and cosy!
Beautifully presented property, everything you need for a comfortable stay. Beautiful location for nice walks. Down side was the Internet connection was poor and kept cutting out during our stay, streaming films on the TV was interrupted and mobiles kept loosing connection, we had no mobile service in the area so relied on it to contact relatives when in the property, the central heating wasn't quite enough given we came this time of year and it reached 8 at one point, we didn't have control of the central heating but could do boosts with the electric heaters and fire once I practiced how to use it lol, the hot tube wasn't at temperature for the first night but got to use for the rest of the week with no issue, good communication with the owners who were helpful and prompt, overall lovely property just got caught out with the cold and snowy weather
We loved our stay at the lodge. Fab surroundings and beautiful place. Hot tub was lovely and some amazing walks nearby and further afield. We would definitely return in the future.
Claire
A fantastic property, top end facilities. Hot tub a sheer delight! Loved the dishwasher too. Super warm and hubby mastered the art of fire making ! Lovely walks from the front door or a short drive away. A great week.
Beautiful lodge in perfect area but could do with a good clean. The bedroom floor was dirty. There was white dog hair everywhere even though you have a no dog policy on furniture. bathroom needs updating. The fire and hot tub were great.
We had a really lovely stay in the lodge and would definitely go back again, very relaxing with everything you could need and made even better by the hot tub.
Adrian
Lovely place we had a great time we will be back
A beautiful place to stay with great facilities. Helpful and responsive owners the kettle broke and a replacement was sourced in a few days. A thorough guide in the property with walks, tips on where to visit and eat.
Sandra
The property is in a good location,,everything we needed in the property a few minor issues, but this did not spoil our stay, lovely view, hot tub was very relaxing after our days out, overall good.
I cannot thank you enough for letting us stay at your Cottage. The location, view and inside the property was outstanding, there was everything you would need for an enjoyable stay. It was just perfect. Can't wait to stay again.
Sharyn
This is our second time staying at The Lodge. It was like returning to an old friend. Well equipped. Comfortable. With beautiful views. Away from the hustle and bustle but with everything on your doorstep. We toured mainly on the western side this time. Not to be missed. Thanks to Ian the owner when we had a power cut.
Rebecca
Lovely stay at The Lodge, fantastic location, the lodge has everything you could possibly need, the hot tub was fantastic although it was slightly too hot for us! Theres some fantastic suggestions for walks provided which was great. Overall a fab stay and well definitely be looking to revisit in the future.
A lovely lodge which is fully equipped for everything you need during your stay. The Lodge is in an ideal location in the lovely village of Bouth with a friendly staffed pub. Close to all the areas we wanted to visit including Windermere and Coniston lakes. This was our second visit to The Lodge and we will certainly be back.
Lovely welcome pack to greet us on arrival. A very clean, comfortable and well presented cottage. The location is ideal for walking or touring the lakes. The White Hart and Huntsman's Lodge are both friendly and worth a visit. Close to Lakeside and Bo'ness for Windermere tours. Will definitely visit again.
Melissa
This was our 2nd stay at The Lodge, which had been modernised since our last visit, new radiators and wall mounted TV, etc. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very warm. The kitchen is very well equipped so you can cook full meals ... if you want to! Loved the personal touches of wine, milk, and toiletries. We did 4 of the walks in the visitors book as well as a few of our own, including Hellvelyn! We arrived in a storm then had another during our stay which affected the areas power supply, including the cottage , the owner could not have been any more helpful, keeping us updated on information as to when the power would be reconnected, a lovely gentleman who lives behind the cottage also checked on us as did the man who cleaned the hot tub! We had a perfect stay and will definitely return for a 3rd visit!

South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 8 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 11 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 13 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 14 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 19 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
