Orchard Cottage Reviews

Maggie
Beautiful large cottage with lovely furnishings. All rooms were tastefully fitted with everything that you need. The view from the garden and windows were fabulous overlooking the fishing harbour. I suggest that you put the waste bin across the drive to stop anyone parking there when you go out as parking is very restricted.
Charlotte
The cottage inside was fantastic there was plenty of room with there being 7 adults and 3 dogs. Kitchen was very well equipped with plenty of supplies. Highly recommend and hopefully a return trip soon.
Lyn
Orchard cottage is a beautiful period property with lovely proportions. It was perfect for our group of 2 families of four with tweens/teens. The youngsters loved the hot tub, the large TV and their equal sized bedrooms. Kitchen is beautiful and well equipped for cooking for 8. Beds are all comfy. We ate Sunday lunch at the fisherman's arms in NRead moreewlyn - food was delicious and the staff were really helpful fitting us all in. This is a great location for exploring West Cornwall. Mousehole, St Ives, Sennen, lands end, Minnack all within 20-30 mins. We particularly loved Porthkidney beach for the dogs- you can park for free near St Uny church. Gwithian towans beach is also gorgeous but dog friendly section cannot be accessed on a high tide. Nanjizal beach is really quirky with breathtaking cliff walks to access but definitely no longer a hidden gem! Newlyn has a lovely cinema with a bar. Penzance has a great range of useful shops and some nice independent shops too. Decent playpark for under 11s and a skate park. We would definitely love to return! Hide

We had a lovely stay at Orchard Cottage in August 2024. We were 4 adults and 4 children and found the property very spacious. The kitchen is well equipped, and we were able to cook nice dinners in there. The rest of the cottage is decorated really nicely, and the lounge is large. We had good weather, but there are plenty of DVDs/games/books should Read morethe weather be bad. The views from the terrace are amazing, and it is nice to sit out there. The hot tub was a treat, and the children really enjoyed this. It is only 5 minutes walk into Newlyn, where you can find fresh fish, fantastic ice cream, galleries and other nice shops. The walk back up to the house is steep but not too bad. The entrance to the driveway is quite tight, but it was fantastic to have a driveway for 2 cars given the roads are all very narrow and busy. Would thoroughly recommend. Original Cottages were also very helpful and attentive to our needs. Hide

Excellent location and really enjoy the use of this property. Amenities are good and short drives to places like Lands End, St Ives and Newquay make it an ideal place to stay with large families.
Claire
Overall. The cottage was lovely lots of space and a welcome package very thoughtful after a long journey.
Su
The property needs a little TLC in places, tired carpet in the lounge, uneven and sharp pieces of laminate flooring the bathroom, outdoor furniture rickety, overgrown garden making access more difficult. However, the beds are comfy, the kitchen equipment was good and the hot tub a welcome addition!
Simon
Beautiful house in a stunning location. The view over the harbour is amazing. Great garden and the hot tub is a great bonus. Well equipped kitchen with everything you could wish to need. Really simple check in and check out process. Really recommended.
Jane
Premium property in a premium location but falls short of expectations due to inadequate maintenance.
Lyn
A lovely cottage with exceptional views over the harbour and sea. Loved the hot tub, great after a day walking the coast path. Kitchen has all the equipment needed for self catering and the beds are very comfortable. Plenty of towels!
Jane
A charming property with extremely comfortable furnishings, particularly the beds and pillows. The view from this property is stunning and the hot tub was perfect overlooking the harbour. Situated in Newlyn and near the very pretty town of Mousehole. We had a very enjoyable stay and hope to return one day.
Deborah
A wonderful cottage in the heart of Newlyn overlooking the harbour and Penzance. A great place to relax and be with family and friends.
Will
Orchard Cottage was a lovely property for a 2 week holiday. Amazing views over Newlyn Harbour and St Michael's Mount in the distance. Well furnished and a great location for exploring west Cornwall.
Natalie
Beautiful house. Beautiful garden and wonderful view from hot tub. 5 minute walk to local restaurants and pubs (although I would say that it is a bit of steep hill for anyone who struggles with mobility) Was a great base for exploring Cornwall. Would highly recommend
Tracey
This property has an amazing location and is very comfortable and well equipped however, a five star property also needs attention to detail and the quick fixing of issues/ replacement of worn and damaged fixtures and fittings. Below is a list which suggests that this attention to detail is lacking. 1. A broken blind and stool in the master bedroRead moreom. Ripped blinds in the bathroom to the master bedroom. 2. Ill - fitting and damaged carpet on the steep staircase and in the doorway of the lounge 3 several items of broken kitchen equipment - notably a cafetire, corkscrew and cup 4. A tumble drier that cannot be used without it tripping the RCD 5. A leak from one of the bathrooms in to the sitting room during our stay. This has happened before; the water damage was clearly visible in the ceiling and when I phoned your emergency number I was cheerfully told this! I hope you find this feedback useful and take it in the spirit with which it is meant - honest and candid feedback! I have no intention of posting a negative public review as despite all of this, we still had an enjoyable stay whether we will book through your company again remains to be seen. Hide
Michael
Lovely house in a great location on the hillside above Newlyn harbour with fabulous views of the fishing boats coming and going. Very comfortable for 8 adults, large kitchen, dining area and lounge.
Jane
Lovely place and views. Beatifully kept. WiFi was very poor.
Marianne
Orchard Cottage has the most amazing views across to St Michael's Mount on a clear day and down to Newlyn harbour. A very relaxing stay, nice and warm. Great facilities within the cottage and a lovely jacuzzi hot tub overlooking the harbour. Comfortable bed and nice quality bed linen. A lovely stay for our 10th Anniversary, quite the find!
Sarah
Beautiful home with stunning views, and in a great location for exploring west cornwall. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
