About Cherry

Resting in the wonderful holiday park of Herston Yards Farm, on the outskirts of the seaside town of Swanage, Dorset, lies this delightful, two-bedroom holiday lodge, Cherry. Boasting a lovely, wooden-clad exterior, enclosed, outdoor decking area with garden furniture and hot tub, and superb proximity to an onsite shop and restaurant, this delightful property welcomes a family of four and their well-behaved dog to enjoy a refreshing, self-catered getaway within the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Park up, unpack, and settle into your new lodgings. Set the chosen chef to work in the well-equipped kitchen, wherein they can find all the utensils required to prepare a delicious, home-cooked dinner to be enjoyed at the dining table, or even alfresco on the outdoor decking when the weather permits it.

After your bellies are full, take time to unwind by sticking a film on the TV in the sitting area, which is kept nice and warm by the crackling embers of a woodburning stove, or why not indulge in a long, hot soak in the outdoor hot tub and peer up as the dazzling, starry night begins to appear above. As day rolls into night, refresh with a bath or shower before you eventually hunker down for a well-earned slumber in either of the two inviting bedrooms, each accompanied by its own Freeview-enabled TV.

If you can tear yourself from your fabulous new base, head out and explore your local surroundings. Take a brief walk to The Shop to stock up on essentials or book a table for four to dine at The Old Mess Room, both locations located on the holiday park and just a stone's throw away from your accommodation!

A day spent in Swanage is also a must whilst you're in the area, where you and the family can take the dog for a walk along the peaceful spots of Swanage Bay and Pier, or you can even hop onboard a ride the historic Swanage Railway attraction during your visit to town. Be sure to make your next trip to Dorset unforgettable by booking a stay at Cherry.

Cherry Reviews

We booked the Lodge solely for the Hot tub which broke virtually every day. Judging by the staffs reaction this had been an ongoing problem. After the third time we gave up. Also on the description it said there was an onsite restaurant which was never open just a burger van and the bar was constantly running out of beerlager
The lodge is a lovely little lodge. It was our honeymoon getaway so we specifically wanted a hot tub, and unfortunately it constantly tripped so we couldnt really use it for the 3 day break. There were a few things like a dirty pan in the cupboard and wood shavings in the bath, plus some spider webs so not sure how thorough the cleaners are. I did mention about the hot tub and the lovely lady said she could refund any money but could give a discount on a future stay. Apart from that, it was a nice little break and easy access into the town.

I personally thought it wasn't to bad my mum however at age 85 is very house proud said chalet was dirty she pd for accommodation and she said it's not worth 809. The only thing is maintenance on property needs urgent attention all doors in property needs sorting out ie bathroom door didn't lock patio doors would not shut you couldn't even lock it.

The perfect place to visit on a rainy day this large Sealife Centre is currently offering 2 tickets for £15.00 when you book online. Top attractions include the amazing shark tunnel, the rock pools and the otter enclosure. This year Loch Lomond Sealife Centre is also home to Cammy - the only Giant Sea Turtle in Scotland! The centre also offers visitors an educational experience with talks and hands on events taking place daily.
Monkey World - BH20 6HH
about 11 Miles
Monkey World is not only a local attraction but the work they carry out is amazing.  Rescuing and rehabilitating monkeys and assisting governments around the world to stop the smuggling of primates are just some of the purposes of the centre. You get to see the primates themselves many of which have become famous from appearing on the TV show Monkey World - a documentary about this place. Open year round we think this is one of best attractions in Dorset and you even get the chance to adopt a monkey if you choose.

This family orientated museum is dedicated to Teddy Bears both old and new Edward Bear and his family of people sized bears are one of the main attractions.  You can buy teddy bear gifts from the quaint shop including top notch brands.  The Steiff Teddy Bear and Merrythought bears are very popular.  Open 7 days a week all year round (except 25th and 26th December) this is a perfect all weather place to visit.

Admission to the park is free of charge but each of the attractions incur a small charge.
Play & Farm Park - PO31 8PE
about 28 Miles
Described as the Isle of Wight's multi activity and play Farm park this attraction will really appeal to families looking for a fun day out.  Recently improvements have been made to enlarge the straw fun play barn and this is now the biggest indoor play space on the island.  This farm is now split into separate attractions, the play barns and petting farm which include rides on tractors and trailors and the tractor driving experience. Open all year this place is also excellent value for money.
