Cae Gallt Reviews

Phillip John
An wonderful house with a beautiful view. A perfect location to explore the rest of Anglesey. The house was perfect for us with good fishing locally. After visiting National trust properties in the area we would get back for a good soak in the hot tub. We did have a problem with hot tub, but when we rang Sykes it was all sorted in a matter of hours. 10 out of 10 for this. Bedrooms were spacious and the views over the Menai were awesome We watched the red squirrels that were in the trees at the side of this property. We loved our stay and we had a week of great weather. I would definitely return to Cae Gallt, it was very impressive.
Jennifer
The property is wonderful and the garden spectacular we were incredibly fortunate with the weather and could make use of both the pizza oven and the barbeque! The views are out of this world and to sit with a morning brew and watch the boats go off up the straits is one of lifes simple pleasures! The house is of a good standard and very comfortable big enough for family get togethers! The log fire is something to behold! The central heating is superb and you will not be cold! There were, however, a few issues with the property particularly the showers the owners and Sykes are aware and I am sure they will be addressed in a timely fashion! Would we return to this property YES!
Michelle
I am sorry I that i have to write this review but to say you can not enter the property till 5. 30pm on arrival and must leave the property at 9.30am on leaving which is like losing a whole day of you holiday you would think the place was spotless but unfortunately not, cobwebs on the light fitting, tea stains and dust on the recliner chairs, dust on skirting boards, and on top of the panelling in downstairs bathroom, dirty towel and dressing gown etc and as if that wasn't enough you wanted us to strip the beds before leaving at 9.30am. The rental on the house wasn't cheap and don't get me wrong the house and surroundings were beautiful and there was everything that you needed but the issues I have brought up just spoilt it for us.
Lovely house and garden and fantastic views. It would have been a much better welcome if the heating had been on when we arrived and my daughter hadnt needed to phone the owner to find out what to do with the radiators. It also was slightly unusual not being able to go into the house until 5.30pm on our arrival and then out by 9.30am. However overall it was a very nice holiday house.
Horribly managed
If I could give minus, I would. Despite it being against the law to travel to wales or stay in non essential accommodation, the owners are refusing to refund payment for a trip that was supposed to start today. They are now breaking the law and refusing communication, do not waste your time
Our Family holiday stay was wonderful, The place was idyllic beautiful views and surroundings every think you would want for a perfect holiday. The property had all the amenities needed to make the break special.
Charlotte
We had the most fabulous stay in this cottage. Perfect location to explore Anglesey and the North Coast of Wales. The living spaces were excellent, the hot tub was well used and the views are spectacular.
The property was beyond our expectations, everything we wished for we got. The views from the property were absolutely amazing especially when relaxing in the hot tub with a glass of wine. The gardens were beautiful and plenty of space for our furry friend to explore. We will be returning next year. Looking forward to it already.
Jennifer
Fantastic property. Really well maintained, clean and well equipped. It was extremely comfortable and of course, had the most beautiful views. Any questions or issues were swiftly dealt with by the owners who were very friendly. The hot tub was a great addition worth the extra money. There is also plenty to do in this location next to the sea and near mountains. Perfect! We would definitely recommend this property to other people.
A very comfortable well equipped family holiday home with outstanding views, comfortable beds and child friendly. We were incredibly lucky with the weather having unbroken sunshine all week. The garden is a lovely suntrap although needs a sun umbrella the one provided was broken and wouldn't stay up and a base again the one provided needs replacing as the part that you push the parasol in is rusted and not vertical.
We have really enjoyed our second stay here, the house is ideal for us as has a ground floor ensuite bedroom for my Gran, allows pets, has a lovely clean hot tub and has stunning views from the garden. The beds are all comfy, and the robes for the hot tub are a nice touch. The property is ideally situated for easy access to local attractions, restaurants and supermarkets. The hosts are attentive and friendly, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and will most likely be back next year.

Cae Gallt was perfect for our group of three couples to meet up again, for the first time since COVID lockdown. The house is spacious and the layout perfect for being able to socialise, cook and eat together, but with lots of cosy places to sit and read to just look out at the great views. Comfortable beds, each couple had a bathroom each. The location is just fantastic and the hot tub, with views over the Straits and the suspension bridge, was an extra treat.
We have just had a lovely relaxing holiday at Gae Gallt, unfortunately on arrival we had a problem with the TV and the hot tub. However, the response from Menai Holidays and the owner was fantastic. Technician's came out on New Year's eve and New Year's day to resolve the issues, which was really appreciated. So thank you to all involved.
Fully Recommend
Comfortable house well equipped kitchen. Lovely garden and views.a spacious house and great for a family get together
Briony
Beautiful cottage with wonderful views. Very comfortable with all the equipment you need. Bbq was a bit small considering the size of the cottage. We paid for the hot tub but it was not working. Spoke with the owner and he said that he had been having an issue with sourcing parts since covid. But assured me it would be working in a couple of hours unfortunately It didnt rectify itself. So if youve booked for the hot tub which we did in this cottage just be warned before you do book as it doesnt appear this will be rectified anytime soon. We received a refund though. Beds very comfortable and attention to detail was made as in feather duvets and pillows and cotton sheets. The property could do with a couple of dummies guides for cookers, heating and tv. To trawl through the manuals for these items was a bit of a faff. All in all though a wonderful cottage with gorgeous garden and lots of wildlife fluttering about.
Excellent property well maintained for the perfect holiday. This was our fourth visit to Cae Gallt and hopefully not our last.
We really enjoyed our stay here, the house was well equipped, comfortable, and in a good location. The layout was spacious with more than enough bathrooms. The hot tub was very clean, and gardens and outdoor space well kept. We did have a couple of visits from a hot tub maintenance man and the gardeners also, but this wasnt really an issue for us, the gardeners were a lovely couple. We were blessed with great weather which made sitting outdoors and looking over the Menai straights all the more enjoyable. We would stay again.
Andrew
The property was very nice and well stocked with all the equipment you need, unfortunately the hottub that we had paid 150 pounds extra for was not working. We had not been informed about this nor had sykes cottages. Has this was the main reason we booked the cottages we were very upset. After 3 phone calls and no promises, we were left without a hottub. Happily it was fixed for Monday evening.and we got the whole 150 refunded. Other issues were dog poo all over the garden which my young daughter stood in. And we also had a arranged 2 hour visit Monday morning from a gas engineer, a hottub engineer Monday afternoon, and then a roofers for 2 hours on Wednesday which we had no knowledge of until they arrived, I understand that these things have to be done but surely any work that needed doing should be done during the 8 hour change over window on Saturday not during someone's holiday. We have been promised a 100 pound refund for our inconvenience. Overall the holiday was very good and we really enjoyed ourselves.
Caroline
Lovely property with great views. The beds were very comfy and everything was clean and tastefully decorated. The hot tub is huge and amazing even on some very cold evenings. A few niggles I left comments about how cold the house was on our arrival and got the first night. This was rectified when we found how to set the central heating at a higher temp it was set to 10 degree which isnt high enough to warm the house in winter. Noted last visitor had commented on this too. The furniture in the living room had changed so photos need updating and finally we didnt have any hand towels in the master bedroom or downstairs loo. Small things though and overall we had a nice stay.
Geoffrey
Absolutely beautiful property in gorgeous location with amazing views of the Straights. Hot tub is sensational and defo worth the extra payment. Property is excellently equipped and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook a Christmas Dinner for 7 people. Our only 2 pieces of developmental feedback are 1. The check in and out times are not great and not in line with the industry. We booked Christmas week so it was winter and cold. The heating had not been switched on in preparation for our visit and as the cottage is old it took a good 24 hours for it to heat up and air out. Made worse by the fact we couldnt check in until 5.30pm. So a cold first night at the property. Everything else was great and a very comfortable cottage for 7 people and 6 can easily be adults.
What an amazing property and accommodating owner! We were already on our way to Anglesey when issues with another cottage unrelated to this one which meant we had no where to stay. We liked the look of this one so we got the Sykes representative to call the owner to see if we could stay with just an hours notice. They agreed and on arrival the property was immaculate and beautiful. The property is very clean, well presented and well equipped. The hot tub was amazing and was well maintained, I will certainly miss relaxing in the hot tub looking at that view. Our dog loved the garden which was well kept and seemed secure. You can order takeaway online at this property which was a plus as we didnt feel like cooking! Had no issues at all during our stay and would stay again.
Its understandable that more time may be required to clean the Cottage, however a departure time of 0930 is too early. Having to strip and bag up bed linen, towels etc as well as time for breakfast and clearing up its a bit of a rush and not want you want after a relaxing week. Maybe 1030 would be more suitable. Overall a very spacious cottage in a great setting.
Caroline
The house was really well equipped and clean although a bit dusty! . The house just needed a tumble dryer and it would be perfect! Fantastic views and location too!
The cottage was not as clean as it could have been. A very dusty log burner and fireplace and TV cabinet. The towels were tiny and not large enough for adults. The duvet cover lacked buttons so kept riding up over the quilt and there was no mid stay clean or change of towels or bedding so we washed them ourselves. The cottage itself is beautiful and comfortable and in a great loacation.
We had a wonderful family holiday at this cottage . The presentation of the cottage is 5 star with a super kitchen and top class Master suite . The hot tub of course was a wow but the patios and safe garden were great for the children . The location is also a great springboard point for most of the places of interest and popular beaches . Will book again and refer to friends.
A wonderful cottage with amazing views. It was very comfortable and fully equipped both inside and outside. The hot tub was the icing on the cake to a perfect holiday. I would recommend this cottage and Sykes.
The hot tub was a real winner
Philip
Although it states accommodation is suitable for 8 persons, the 4th bedroom was quite small with no hanging facilities for clothes and really only suitable for two small children. Our 16 and 18 year old granddaughters found it a bit of a squeeze and were not happy they could not hang their clothes up. Overall the stay at Cae Gallt was enjoyed by all, fantastic location and views, would recommend Cae Gallt to anyone wishing to stay in Anglesea.
Sykes cottages were brilliant had a few issues with the property and they was very helpful to deal with them. The views from the hot tub were amazing and we recommend visiting the Gazelle hotel which is a ten minute walk away , amazing food and atmosphere, Sunday roast was delicious.
Just a lovely setting very relaxing
The property was excellent so comfortable and well equipped with a fantastic view. Enjoyed it so much will definitely be back next year !
Beverley
We had a great holiday and the cottage was wonderful just what we needed. Hot tub was an extra bonus but didnt get to use as often as hoped. Grandchildren loved it. Drive way is a bit difficult to get in especially for low cars. There were a few areas which were not dog friendly for eg under drive gate and over the wall by hot tub but we managed to board it up a bit and solve the problem. Overall though great time and would book again. Thank you.
Kelvin
The house great garden great hot tub great and view great. Needs a few things to make it more homely eg afew wall clocks and mirrors in bedrooms. Urgent need to resolve problems in ground floor bedroomensuite.
Drainage of sink and shower in downstairs ensuite a problem sink particularly. Also TV in downstairs bedroom had no freeview box so could not be used.
Cae Gallt was amazing, the house, gardens, views & hot tub were all first class, in fact I think that this was the best equipped house we had ever stayed in the owners seemed to have thought of everything you could possibly need for a fabulous holiday.
Pru Jones
The cottage was very comfortable and we enjoyed the lovely grounds, hot tub and views. The reason for only 4 is because the downstairs ensuite suffered a couple of structural faults and therefore not comfortable to use.
A splendid, very comfortable house with amazing views over the Menai Straits and the mountains of Snowdonia beyond. The Hot Tub was an additional attraction for our grandchildren!
Vicky Atherton
Well situated with beautiful views across the Straits. Spacious, clean and well equipped
