The Lodge Reviews

We had a wonderful stay, Sonia and David had thought of just about everything in and around the lodge. They came to give us a warm welcome and instructions on how to use the hot tub, even offered to light during our stay. Anyone looking for a quiet peaceful break this is where to stay, everything we wanted to do and see was within easy access. We are already planning for next year hopefully in the same Lodge or maybe one of their new ones

Sonia and David were great hosts very welcoming and helpful. The lodge was cleaned to a high standard ,with lots of extras you don't usually get i.e cleaning products toiletries etc also we had our dog with us so I asked for a mop and bucket to be supplied, nothing was a problem. The hot tub was lovely just a little too hot but I think that was purely down to my partner getting carried away with the amount of logs he put in! A very peaceful getaway would definitely return.
Claire
We had the most lovely time at the lodge. The owners Sonia and David were really lovely. The views and the hot tub were lovely. Nice and relaxing and just what we needed to recharge.
The lodge was a perfect getaway for me and my family. The location was perfect and so quiet which is exactly what we were looking for, the lodge was tidy and well equipped with everything you would need for the stay. The kids really enjoyed the welcome basket fully of goodies. The hot tub for us didnt get hot enough but thats just personal preference the kids still went in multiple times and loved it. Inside the lodge there was also a handy guide of local walks we could on which I thought was good if it hadnt rained the whole time!. Only suggestion we had was when meeting Sonia and David when we arrived we were told how to work everything such as hot tub and which bins for recycling but after they had gone we had already forgot! I feel this could be helpful if it was written down and left in the lodge but didnt affect the stay in any way. I would definitely recommend staying here if you want a relaxing break away.
Steven
The Lodge was great and the hosts are really wonderful! ! Excellent directions and advice to find the place. Perfectly clean when we arrived, and well equipped. Excellent location for exploring the surroundings, and our girls loved the hot tub! We were only there a few days but got to The Mumbles, Pembrey toboggan ride and the beach, and Kidwelly castle before heading to Neath to watch our son play rugby. Well be back definitely!
Kacper
The lodge was fantastic, very private, a lot of nature around which was something different, the owners were very welcoming, kind and helpful. Not too far from the local town of Llanelli, The lodge was very clean a lot more spacious than expected no problems whatsoever with maintenance, a very relaxing stay for couples and families would highly recommend and will definitely want to book another stay here.
The lodge is set in a tranquil and peaceful location, which was exactly what we wanted. The views all around were spectacular and all we could hear was the sound of the nearby spring and an occasional birdsong. The lodge is well equipped, and the woodfired hot tub is just a perfect addition to its facilities. During our stay we looked forward to going back to the lodge and having a relaxing time in the hot tub after a day's full of activities, exploring the area. The hosts were very friendly, helpful and attentive. They made sure everything was OK and nothing was a bother for them Just the nicest people. Would definitely go back and would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing laid back stay. It is also a perfect base to explore South Wales plenty of places to see and things to do, within 6090 mins max either direction. You are spoilt for choice.

We enjoyed our break at The Lodge. David and Sonia were great hosts with their 5 lovely spaniels. Our Spaniel Bonnie enjoyed her stay too with a ball and treats. The Lodge clean, comfortable with all facilities expectd. It is well situated for walks with the Swiss Valley cycle route close by. We spent time in Burry Port with a dog friendly cafe at Harbour Light Tearoom. Also close to Pembrey Country Park. Overall an enjoyable experience.

Fantastic holiday. Everything we could have possibly needed was provided. Wish we had booked two weeks. Sonia and Dave were fantastic hosts and very accommodating as where the spaniels. Great little hideaway, quiet and peaceful. Will definitely be back.
David and Sonia were perfect hosts with their 5 friendly spaniels. The Lodge is comfortable, well equipped and in a lovely quiet location. Easy access to multiple walks, beaches and surrounding towns all within a short drive. The hot tub is lovely after a busy day and David kindly lit it ready for our return. Would recommend for a great relaxing break away to a beautiful part of Wales. Not forgetting all the treats and toys that they provided for our 2 doggies and lovely chocolate and biscuits too. Thank you both for a great time at The Lodge we thoroughly enjoyed it.
The Lodge is in a beautiful setting, very well equipped with everything that you would need. Quiet and peaceful setting. Sonia and David go above and beyond to make sure that your stay is everything that you hoped for. Dogs are very well catered for with a lovely fenced in paddock for them to run in. The welcome pack that Sonia leaves for you also includes things for the dogs, even balls and poo bags. Lots of lovely places to go for walks. We have all said that we will be returning in the future. Thank you David and Sonia for making us feel so welcomed

We had a lovely holiday at the Lodge. Very convenient for the Swiss Valley cycle trail. In one direction we could cycle to the Botanical Gardens of Wales and the other direction down to Llanelli to join the Millenium Coastal path. The night skies were very clear and we had the added bonus of seeing the Northern Lights from the hot tub. Sonia and David were perfect hosts

Amazing little break away! This was a perfect location for a long weekend break. David and Sonia were excellent hosts and were there to greet us and see us off. They were on hand for any questions or difficulties we had throughout the stay. The lodge is clean and equipped with towels, teacoffee and cleaning equipment. The hot tub was an amazing bonus. Very quiet and peaceful location, with pubs, walks and landmarks to visit not far away. Would definitely recommend.

We enjoyed a comfortable and relaxing week at The Lodge. The property was spotless on arrival and well equipped. Sonia and David were there to explain how everything worked and then left us to settle in. The Lodge is situated on their farm and so they are at hand to answer any questions but were not intrusive. They are kind and considerate. The area is very quiet and is in the middle of the countryside so its wonderful sitting in the garden or hot tub listening to the birds. Its a good centre for exploring The Gower Coast and Pembrokeshire.
Michael
The hot tub is not described properly as it's not a hot tub as people would expect there are not jets and you have to light a fire to get the water hot and then it cost you a extra 15 to refill the box for more fire wood there are no chemicals used to help keep the water clean. We had rain quite a lot there was a leak in which the owners knew about also the electric was switched off all morning so they could change a post we didn't know about this but am sure others would have known. The owners where nice and friendly.
Had a lovely welcome from Sonia & David when we arrived, very friendly couple, nothing was too much for them, made sure we were happy and had everything we needed, even had treats, water bowl and towel for our dog, had a nice relaxing stay, lodge well equipped.

Spent a lovely week in The Lodge. Property was very clean and well equipped with all you could need and more. Sonia and David were amazing hosts very friendly and helpful. Very thoughtful welcome gifts for our 2 dogs were waiting for us upon arrival thank you so much. Property is located in a very nice and quiet area. It's not a long drive from the coast, we could spend amazing time on the beach and finish the day in the hot tub. Highly recommended
We would definitely recommend The Lodge as a very special place to stay. Peaceful, countryside location but with easy access to surrounding beaches and towns. The Lodge was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything we needed and more. The selection of tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival was most appreciated, as was the range of dog requisites. Bobby, our 18 year old terrier, whose primary thoughts these days seem to revolve around his stomach, eagerly devoured his treats, yet still managed to fall in love with Rosie, one of the adorable spaniels. As for us, on our last evening, we had a relaxing bathe in the wood burning hot tub. What fun it was too, splashing about under a starlit sky. So, thank you, Sonia and David, for going that extra mile and making our stay truly memorable.
The lodge was lovely in a very quiet area which we wanted. Sonia and David are helpful and friendly owners and on hand if needed. The lodge has a very well equipped kitchen .We were lucky enough to have very good weather and enjoyed the beach at Pembury Park and Burry Port. Carmarthen is a lovely town with lots of independent shops. Fantastic area to stay.

What a stunning setting, was lovely and quiet just what we needed. A great place for exploring too not far from lots of places. The hot tub was a great added bonus and was heated up for us by Dave for when we arrived. The caravan was very clean and comfortable, Sonia thought of everything that you need guides for the area ect even a little hamper for tea coffee biscuits sweets and one for the dog. such a lovely couple nothing to much trouble. Dave let my son look at his bike and car which my son loved. Will definatley book again. thank you both for helping us have a lovely holiday.
The Lodge is a great holiday property run by very friendly and helpful hosts Sonia and David and spaniels. Peaceful, secluded countryside location, great for stargazing on clear nights. Lots of attractions a short drive away. Fantastic walks for our dog in, and away from, the property. Bedroom 1 with king size bed, walk in wardrobe, TV with free sat and ensuite toilet and basin. Bedroom 2 has twin beds, ideal for younger children. Bathroom with large walkin shower, WC and basin. Open plan kitchendinersitting room large enough for a family of four. Large fridge freezer, gas hob, separate grill and oven. Storage space is plentiful throughout. The very clean property is well stocked with many items not usually provided in holiday lets, such as good quality hand wash at every basin, washing up liquid, dishwashing sponge and cloth, oven gloves, tea towels, kitchen roll, plenty of loo roll, books, board games, DVDs, sewing kit, first aid kit, vacuum, sweeping brush and desk fan. Welcome basket of hot drinks and tasty biscuits and charming little vase of flowers on arrival. Dog treats and loan of mat, bowl, doggy blanket for sofa and towel were much appreciated. Lovely to relax in the wood burnerheated hot tub filled with spring water, under cover, with solar powered lights. We very much enjoyed our stay. Thank you David and Sonia!
Brilliant accommodation, really spacious and comfy. The Hot Tub was brilliant! Sonia and Dave were the best hosts one could ask for. They even left treats for the dog. My family had a great holiday and are looking forward to going back as soon as we can. Cant wait!!

From the day we arrived Sonia and David were so welcoming to us and made sure we had everything and checked in to make sure we were ok, it was beautiful the scenery, the mobile, we had a hot tub outside, we fell in love with the place and where it is situated we did not have to drive far to find beautiful beaches, walks, activities and we brought our dog misty. Sonia and David left us with a basket of goodies and for our dog they made our holiday even more special and we cannot thank you both enough. We would highly recommend staying here to anyone.

The lodge was immaculate, full of all the essential home comforts, more than we could of expected. our hosts were more than accommodating and made everything so easy for us to access. We had free reign to walk, play and explore with our family, no interruptions. The beautiful surroundings speak for themselves, but this little slice of secret sanctuary is a must visit. We cannot wait to come back again. The eco elements of the lodge is an amazing way to get the children involved in maintaining the garden and the hot tub good family activities. Family of 42,37,16,8 and dog x

Sonia and dave were both wonderful and very helpful The lodge was amazing so clean and everything you could want to make for a wonderful time away We will definitely be back. Thank you both for making our holiday a lovely experience x
Lovely stay for a couple days. Very welcoming and at the same time left us to it , made sure we had everything we needed, great for the dogs . Very laid back, easy going , will definitely be going back . Highly recommend
This was our first time visiting south wales, and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. The cleanliness was outstanding! The hospitality was outstanding! The surrounding area was outstanding! Sonia and Dave are the loveliest couple where nothing is too much trouble. They are developing and expanding their lodges, so works are in progress. This didn't hinder our stay, as no active work was done during our stay. What they have planned for the ecolodges looks brilliant. We can't wait to book again. We took our two children and the dog with us. It was the most peaceful holiday we have ever been on, and we arrived during a storm! Once it had passed, there was just silence, trees, long walks, and a river. This is just on their land. We loved it. The log fire hot tub is fantastic, and being in it while the stars are out is an experience everyone who visits should have! Zoe, Mick, the Girls & Skip
Very quiet and private, we enjoyed our stay.
